  1. Like TurtleHawk said, they're ONLY available in user-made missions and campaigns. They are NOT available in single missions generated by the game engine. Think of carriers as runways (just like the regular airfields) - they need a fixed location in the terrain to be at. Those are set in the terrains ***_targets.ini. For campaigns, not only do they need the fixed locations, but they need to be added to the campaign's data ini. If you want to add them, you'll need to edit the GermanyCE_Targets.ini, the GermanyCE_Types.ini (this'll tell the game/campaign engine which CV to add), and then create a new campaign and/or user made mission. Like TH said, there are several 3rd Party campaigns/missions that have the already added. WRench kevin stein

  5. File Name: F4U-4B Corsair, Korea Mod File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 13 Jun 2008 File Category: US Navy Aircraft F4U-4B Corsair -- A mod of the Mirage Factory's F4U-7 For SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY!!!!- This is a modification of The Mirage Factory's F4U-7 (French Navy version), into the earlier, and almost identical, -4B as used by the US Navy and Marine Corps during the Korea War. This pak contains -almost- everything you'll need to create this new version, minus a few critical files that you'll need to copy from the original F4U-7. So you MUST have the -7 somewhere to copy them from. If not, you can download it from Check6 (TMF Home Site), Column5 or CombatAce (?) This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD files or the cockpit folder. See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts. This should also be considered as a 'stand-in' aircraft, as TMF is/was working on the -4B model for release at some point. I'm sure their's will be better than this small offering So, as to soften the blow, I've included 3 new skins, based off the originals, for your use in a Korean Era (or Prop Cold War Gone Hot) type of install. They are: VF-53, USS Essex circa 1950 VMA-332, circa 1953 VMF-214, circa 1951 The skins are tweekifcations of existing TMF Corsair skins. I've included all the inis I've modified, so you'll be copying the minimum number of bits. You'll also get my Korean Corsairs Hangar screen, and a new Pilot figure. This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons (minus the Corsair drop tank - it comes with the F4U-7). For those NOT using the Bunyap Weapons Pak, the WW2 bombs needed are included, as is TMF's original F4U drop tank. Just in case. The HVAR rockets are NOT included, as they exist in both the BunyPak and TMFs =IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed to be used in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, as WoI has almost competly hosed the WW2-ish propeller plane flight models. If you attempt to use this in WoI, you do so at your own risk of flying 'quite oddly'. READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed install instructions, plus the usual "Notes & Other Ramblings" section Happy Hunting! Wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  6. Yeah, kinda had a lousey week.... but still, we DO need to lock out the KB so only moderators can post in it... I REALLY do wish people would spend a little more time looking for the answers themselves...98.6% of all are already answered, with detailed fixes. Just takes a little inatiative, and perserverance to find it. Wrench kevin stein

  8. File Name: USN BuNums, 1910-1995 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 13 Jun 2008 File Category: Utilities/Editors Bureau Numbers for US Navy Aircraft A pdf file - make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat!!! I came across this little file while doing research for the F7U Cutlass, and was asked to share this with the community. Unfortunately, I don't remember what site I found it on, so I can't give the Author proper credits. I found this file extreamly helpful in creating those pesky little decals that go on the aircraft tail. The major portion is broken down into number groupgs, NOT by aircraft, so you'll have to hunt around for the proper bird; if you're working off a profile or photo for you skin/decals, you should be able to scroll down to the 'approximate' section to find the serial number (ie: BuNum) you're looking for. I'm placing this in the "Utilities/Editor" section, as I have NO real idea where it should go!!! Enjoy! Wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  12. File Name: F/A-37A Talon, Stargate Command File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 11 Jun 2008 File Category: Fictional and What If? F/A-37A Talon, StarGate Command Skin & Decal Set This is another one of the Projects that's been languishing on my hard drive for sometime. Basically, this is just a redecaling of the stock Air Force air-superiority gray. It's a 'What If..' skin for a What If airplane, as used by Stargate Command, and has tags for the SGC (Antarctica Base), plus extra tail codes for all the Terran Battlecruisers. It also contains 50 nose arts, many of which have been released before, but LOTS of new ones, with a Stargate/Fantasy/Etc flavor. They were/are originally designed to be used on The Dev A-Team's F-302 'Mongoose'. So, rather than have them sit around any more, you all can add this skin to Zur's Talon. I hope you like them!!! See the enclosed readme for rather simple, easy to follow install instructions, plus the usual Notes and Comments section. Enjoy! Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file
  13. You mean this??? This is a rather early pic (from sometime last year). It needs more meshes cut, so I can add the nose arts. I can't find the pic with the new SGC tail codes, but rest assured I've gotten most of the decals on. VERY beta stage....don't know when the guys will finish it There's a Death Gllider to go with it too; with 5 or 6 different J'afa pilot figures, each with a different tatto for differing System Lords. Wrench kevin stein
  14. Ok People...once again, I'll explain this, I'll type reallly slow, and use BIG letters so, hopefully, you'll all get it: DO NOT POST QUESTIONS IN THE KNOWLEDGE BASE - THAT IS FOR US MODERATORS TO WRITE THE 'ANSWERS' FOR YOU ALL TO FIND If you're having issues, or questions about how to do something, POST THEM IN THE REGULAR FORUMS, IN EITHER THE GENERAL DISCUSSION OR MODS & SKINNING It's a real PIA to have to move these posts to where they SHOULD be ...so, lets try and to things right, shall we??? Now, on to macelana's question: more information is needed; what error messages, if any? Did it just CTD (crash to the desktop), or did it start loading?? Did you make the necessary mofidications in the terrain's main ini? (ie; DBS.ini) to have the cat pointer line Have you read the Post on '3rd Party Terrains' in the Knowledge BAse: Click Me!!! -->Adding Terrains<--I'm a Link!!! READ the entire article, especially my notes in the 2nd post...your answers just might be there... I just wish we had more info about the fault you're experiencing.... Wrench kevin stein
  15. Just realized what I'd wrote...I could be in better shape that I am...but that's besides the point!! What I basically need, is a simple cylinder, tapered to a point at the aft end, and semi-blunt/flat at the front As seen below, I'm using the FAB-100 shape to 'stand in' for the AN/APS-4 radar pod. That's the approximate size, too! Diameter=0.280000 Length=1.473000 This real pod was used on a myriad of aircraft, and would be great addition to the WW2 stuff and for Korea in particular. It was carried on all the early Skyraiders (AD-1 thru 4, as they didn't have an internal emitter, it was attached to the wing), TBM/Tarpons, SB2C (if we ever get one) -- and the P-38M and a host of others!!! It dosen't really need a skin for the Navy, but a simple map of one color (usually white) would suffice. A small rectangular plyon would be a plus too!! Give it something to hang from the wing on...or the nose of Lightning.... In case anyone is wonder what that Avenger is, it's a TBM-3E, as used by VS-23 during the Korea War on ASW patrols. New skin, with redrawn panel & rivet lines; just need to finish decaling and such. And figure out how to release it... TIA!! Wrench kevin stein
  16. That's what I'm talkin' about!!!!! He is a Great and Powerful Wizard, and his name is... Tim!!! Just about perfect!! I repainted it a bit (easy enough to create a quick psd to add a few layers). Maybe a bit thinner (reduce width by 1/4), but overall I'd say it's good to go as is!!! The physical model still has the ASV antena on the wings, but they can be simply ignored. I'm not gonna bother Capun to remove them ... not worth the effort. Besides, they can 'pretend' to be other sensors (for picking up cell phone calls or something!!! ) With many thanks, Timmy! Now, I'll have to update my old AD Skyraiders, too!!! Wrench kevin stein wonder how this'll look on Wolf's Lightning...and can I squeeze the RIO into the aft section of the pit.... ??????
  17. Here's the 3rd skin, VMA-332 'Polkadots'', again salvaged from another skin (all credit to Sundowner!!!) I just make decals! Sharp eyes will notice the new, Korean-era pilot figure, nearly completed. Just some detail work to finalize. It won't be nearly as good as Diegos, but it'll be something usable This one is odd -- i've got pictures of 332 with "marines'' only under the port wing, no data on the upper starboard; some with "MR and Number" on the wing...so I don't know which way to go. I"ll probably go with the standard, squadron Letter+number. I'm lazy.... Wrench kevin stein
  18. Those are great pictures!!! The Flight Engineer's station looks remarkably similair to the B-29s...wonder if there's any truth to the rumors that all the later Tupolov bombers (from the Tu-4 on, obviouslsy) are evolutions from the Superfort?? Throttles on the left side of the pilot's station? That's interestering, as most western mulits put everything on the central pedestal With or without a pit, the Bear is a much wanted (ok, needed) addition to the aircraft stable!!! Wrench kevin stein
  19. Did you find "Billie: Little Red Riding Hood"...that's my fav!!!! Wrench kevin stein
  20. That's basically what I did...these are 'Frankenstein' skins, using peices and parts from all the TMF Corsairs!! I'm sure Sundowner won't mind me tacking on bits here and there...I just didn't want to re-create the whole templates, so I just added layers where I needed them, redrawing lines and/or rivets as necessary. The really odd thing is, NONE of my profiles or photos in 5 different books show the BuNums on any of the Marine squadrons! Ok, so it looks like it's almost time to start writing the readme...got one more skin to finish for VMA-332 "Polkadots''; again, using salvaged parts from another skin, from another TMF Corsair...so there'll be 3 skin set in the package. Take this as a 'thank you' to TMF, Sundowner, and the fact that I'm not including 80% of the needed bits (lods, cockpit, some other inis, damage tgas). But it WILL have a Korean Era Hangar screen!!! 22. Czech6: you mean the Bureau Numbers??? Looking at the screenies, you could have a faulty tga...had this meself cause I goofed on the Alpha channel In any case, this is the set up I have for the VF-53 bird (you'll have to, of course, changed the pathway names to fit, your number sequence may vary ie: DecalXXX), but this'll give you the position: This set up is for the front gear door: Remember, even though "they say" 4 decals per mesh, I never go over 3, and the set up I have for VF-53 is at the 3 limit for the fuselage. If you plan on releasing the Iron Angels skin, I can re-do mine for another squadron. I also plan to leave the BuNum.bmp in, which has the "F4U-4B" and "Navy" tags, with the blank area below so you can insert the actual numbers in. Think of it as a template for the number. If you look closely, you'll also see the Star/Bar is modified -- there's no blue surround, so it blends right into the paint scheme Wrench kevin stein
