Yah, I did a couple for the Rhino, a version for the F-4G WW, another for the E (simply adding another Sparow to group 4, leaving the Sparrow in group 5 all by it's lonesome for the jammer replacment) I'm spliting them all the time in the KB Loadout thread, trying for something more real-world. Or at least to give the player/pilot some more options. And, like FastCargo said, some of the stock birds are a little 'off' Wrench kevin stein ps:, so Sag, when's the mod comming out???
  2. That's what I was gonna say...even knowing it's the false canopy paintjob ... makes one think the CF is hitting the Canadian Club a little too hard!! Putting the fuel tanks on top of the wing....what do they thing they're flying -- Lightnings??? I crack myself up sometimes!!! Fiddling weapons is probably the most insanity inducing thing we can do...unless it's making scads of decals, or trying to lay out target areas, and have all the little sub-items actually show up in the fracking game!!!!, and in their appointed places. AAAAAHTHRRIGHTTAAHGHTAAAA!!!LLLLL!!!!! blurbl blurb blurblle....llalalalalalalalal .....sorry, the meds haven't kicked in yet...   3. I actually answered my own question, that I posed to all and sundry, in the 'Weapons Fixes Thread'. While looking at the other Zippers, and some other things, I noticed that I had everything necessary to make the mod already sitting in the RAF Eagle FGR.1 folder.. This is the result: The only thing I haven't figgured out, is how to get rid of the range reading on the scope. (it sure ain't there on Eagle!) All stock WoE parts, and switched to avionics70.dll. A pure interceptor -- missiles and a gun. Now, all I need is a little more testing, a new hangar screen, and permissions to upload..... So...who did the skin?? I want to use the LoViz Italian that came with the ASA version. The aircraft model is stock 3rdWire F-104G, (available here, 3rdW, stock in SF & WoE) with the F104S kit in the weapons pack (along with the Aspides), and the radar/avioncs stuff transfered to the cockpit folder.   4. I actually like how he's got the parts named on the model...'Fin and Rudder'..... I think that would be a great skin, especially if ALL the plane parts were named...alerion, flap, nose, fuselage, etc....you could say this (the skin) was used for training new mechanics/ground crew...and for slooooow pilots...   5. Assuming you're using the Weapons Pack, you (like Sag said) probably haven't adjusted you data and loadout inis to take advantage of the new style of weapons namificaton. Depending you the type of aircraft (sometimes for Egyptian, Syrian, Lybian, Leboneese) you can get away with using the 'SOVIET' attatchment type. If it is a nation specific aircraft (Jordanian, Lybian, Egyptian, Syrian), you'll have to switch it over to "WP". Then the fun begins..... You'll have to browse the weaponsdata ini using the LATEST version of the weapons editor (it's in the weapons pak), and find the correct weapons as used by each particular country. Then, you'll use THAT name as the weapon to be loaded by listing it in the hardpoint data in the loadout ini . For example, we'll use the ever present MiG-17F Fresco C as used by the EAF.... Below is what you're weapons station should look like in the data ini: This is what you're loadout ini should look like: (jack sparrow voice) ... saavy??? You'll find just about everything you need to know about how to do this, along with over 6 pages of aircraft already done, in the Knowledge Base, right here at the CA SF/WoV/WoE Boards. As for Israel, they are a special case ... especially when dealing with the French weapons for the Mirage IIICJ, and that is the subject of another post, and will soon be seen in the aformentioned Knowledge Base.   7. I'm thinking the HMS would have to be built into the cockpit lod itself, to follow the pilots head. Definetaly need tweeking in the cockpit ini, not sure how you would get the gunsight to 'track' 90 degs left/right. Wonder if the avionics ini might need some 'adjusting' as well..... Autotracking/slewing gun turrets (like for the Hind, Cobra), I've never seen (other than on bombers.....hmm...that's an Idea!!*). I"m sure there 'might' be a way to do it, but the turret itself in the aircraft's lod would have to be movable, too. * create a vitureal gunner station, with virtual gunner, like the bombers....interestering concept...possibly doable Wrench kevin stein

No real adjustments need to be made, other than removing the "NATO" callout in the aircraft data ini. All loads are what they are...damn near perfect!!! (expecially that Nuclear Genie ) F-111 Ardvark Series by The Vark Team (can't find the readme, so you all get a Team Name!) This includes the: F-111A F-111D F-111E F-111F FB-111A F-111K (RAF) Again, all that need really doing is removing (again) the pointer for "NATO" It should only read USAF. Now....mind you, I haven't taken into account those used by the RAAF, as I don't have a country specific version in any of my installs. Suffice it to say, it would be a simple matter to make sure they say "USAF", so you can load American weapons. --just remember there ARE Aussie specific weapons in the weapons pak. As time presents itself to me, I'll show you all how to recreate the Amberly Pigs. Now, we do have a special circumstance in the hypothecial F-111K as (almost) used by the RAF. You have 2 choices here: 1) Leave it with American weapons or 2) Switch it over to RAF weapons. There is one problem with that though, it that you won't be able to load the ALQ-131 jammer pod on the lower aft station. But I do have a cheat for that, and I'll get to it later. Notice, as well, the QRC jammer pod is still there, but it probably won't load. This brings us to the little cheat I mentioned earlier...we'll simple add in INTERNAL ECM station. Scroll back up the data ini to the {Fuselage} section, and add the following system: SystemName[020]=ECMSystem and down below the weapons stations, where the Countermeasures stations are, add this: [ECMSystem] ReferenceName=AN/ALQ126 SystemType=ECM_JAMMER JammerType=DECEPTIVE_JAMMER JammerStrength=35.0 MinExtentPosition= -0.23, 1.60, 0.74 MaxExtentPosition= 0.23, 2.99, 1.15 While not historically correct (oh, and this on a hypothecial aircraft, yet!), it will give you a working jammer. Just remember that lots of the Ruskie later SAMS do have a 'home-on-jam' feature, so you might want to 'blip' the jammer on and off, just the try and throw off the incomed Spears of Death Of course, another way is to simple create an RAF copy of whatever jammer you desire to load.   23. You're ALL wrong...if you look carefully in the weaponsdata ini, you'll find Iranian specific weapons, as well as Iraqi specific weapons. This goes for ANY country using ANY of the Soviet equipment - they have country specific versions of the Ruskie missiles, bombs, RP, etc. Since the Iranians are no longer considered friendly, they too, get their own versions fo the American weapons. Once you get the aircraft loadouts fixed, then and ONLY then, can you go into the campaing ini, and change those weapons to the correct, country specific types. Amongst all the work I'm doing on the DS mod, I've been looking at the Iran/Iraq one as well....I've several of the aircraft already adjusted for use of their countries specific weapons types, as well as 'fixing' the F-4Ds hardpoint problems. As soon as I can find the time, I'll be posting the fixes in the 'Loadout Fixes' thread in the Knowledge Base. Right now, it's about 2 weeks behind (load fixes), from where I want it to be. Haven't even touched the French, Isreali, WW2 or some of the other more 'odd-ball' types. As to fixing your terrain problems, you're on the right track...but you don't actually need to have the cat file in the terrain folder. There's a real nice tutorial on how to make the fix in the KB "Third Pary Terrains", I think it's called. You will, however, still need the desert tiles, either Dueces or Polaks. One just needs to to a little leg work...most of the answers are already out there. Wrench Kevin Stein

  25. I just checked the TANK330_F14.LOD, and there's just one entry. Just remember, it has to stay within the total number of characters (11 in this case). You call call it anythin you want (to match the bmps), but just 11 max. Wrench kevin stein
