  2. Indian Air Force Type 74 Fishbed C (model by 3rdW, mods by howling1) NOTE: it is critically important that you use the lods supplied with this kit!! All the InAF Fishbeds are built on models that are Pre-Patch4, and if you use the later lods, you're going to run into a boatload of problems. Things will not line up, stuff will be mounted funny, and you'll have all kinds of visual anomolies by mixing and matching lods. This is especially important in the Type 95 & 96 (which, unfortunately, don't have the lods in the package. I'll cover their issues when I get posting them) All the Indian MiG's came with cockpit files of various types; it's my suggestion that you replace them with Magoo's superb Fishbed cockpit, available here at CA. This is the original Fishbed that India recieved; it is a gunless, missile-less bird. The InAF had the Soviets create the GP-9 gunpod for this aircraft. Did you get any error messages after the crash, or did it just THUD to the desktop??? Nation name shouldn't matter, it stays USAF for the most part. On a side note, what I did for my WW2 install, is changed the displayed name for USAF to "United States Army Air Force". That keeps the nation type the same at USAF (easier on the wepons pak - no editing of weapons is required) ie: [Nation002] Name=USAF DisplayName=United States Army Air Force Alignment=FRIENDLY PlayerFlyable=TRUE However, anything AFTER 1947, is gonna be USAF. Unless it belongs to somebody else (Isreal, Switzerland, Guatemala, etc) I'd suggest checking the max weight for the HVAR stations, and using them for you impossible heater loadout. Leave the main inboard stations alone, as you'll need them for the drop tanks. Cross check the Sidewinder weight against the HVAR weight. (you'll find a big difference) Wrench Kevin Stein

While not a perfect fix (probably lacks the visual for the tailhook), you can add a vitural one. btw, something similar was done for the FJ Fury as well. in the MissonData section, at the top, add this: CarrierBased=TRUE in the Fuselage section, add: SystemName[008]=Tailhook in the LandingGear section, add: [Tailhook] SystemType=ARRESTER_HOOK MaxDeflection=60.0 Retractable=TRUE DeployTime=2.0 ModelNodeName=tailhook HookArmLength=2.16 AttachmentPosition=0.0,-3.59,-0.79 again, this is an imperfect fix at best. The hook data was 'borrowed' from the F-4J. The arm 'might' be a little short, and defenitely too far forward. But if it works.... Try that and let us know Wrench Kevin Stein
  17. Just zip up all the necessary files, maybe with a little readme describing what it is, and go to the d/loads section. There's a button "Add A File". That'll take you to another page with the upload agreement, and a drop down window where you can select what categeory it goes in (in this case SF/WoV/WoE Ground Objects), then follow the on screen instructions. From the screenie, the object is in game??? Is it a working radar (ie: has a data ini with the needed stuff??) That'd be a perfect add on for eye candy to some of the HAWK sites I've been dropping all over the WOE map! If you have any problems getting it uploaded, drop me a line and I'll give you hand.   18. and make sure the image is square!! ie: 128x128, 256x256, etc. Otherwise the warp and twist and just look funny. How I make them is probably the longest way around (as per usual for me). This is for photshop 6, as I've just discovered the alpha/tga stuff is 7 seems to be broked. 1) Create bmp with image CENTERED 2) using the rectangualar marquee tool, outline the entire image (the FULL thing). "COPY" (control/C) 3) in the Channels panel, 'add alpha channel' 4) Paste (control/V) the copied image back in, then 5) control/I to invert. 6) turn on RGB section, to show the original colored background. 7) with the RGB and Alpha channels active, and the Alpha selected, used a paintbrush - in the Alpha channel ONLY, with the color white, paint the area you wish to show. 8) Save as, tga w/alpha, 32bits/pixel that should do it. (told ya it was a long way around! I didn't even go in to the cut the image, paste back, flatten, and save - that will automatically center it.)   20. Well, there's always that hack-job I did on the F-4B's pit for use with Red Air twin-engined birds. It's available in both a light-gray and Sovi-ick green. (the gray in included in the IL-28T mod here at CA and my site). I, too, like to have the dual engine annunicator panels, and am willing to give up a little historic accuracy for ooodles of gauges :) Wrench Kevin Stein

  23. Just about done with this 'set up'. Borrowed the NIKE stuff from OTC, and the 'parking lot/concrete pad' from the truck depot. And the little buggers actually fired, for the first time that I've seen (well,outside OTC). Interesting to note, only one set of 4 missiles fired. Possibliby a facing issue?? (this one's from another angle, to show the various stuff I tossed out there to make it look better. not historically accurate for a NIKE battery, but it looks fairly good) What is really needed is a smaller 'concrete pad' that takes less space, and can still be dropped into a target area, and have the launchers, radars, some support buildings and AAA surrounding it.   24. You're right....I tested it before I had to take off a while ago. You don't have to touch the _types ini at all. Possibly because the targets ini is pointing to a specific ground object Gonna probably add this around a few of the Dutch airfields, as I know they had them, and perhaps mod a couple of HAWK batteries to use them as well. Unfortunately, they'll be a LOT of wasted space, given the size of "poured concrete slab" (and yes, I'm pretty sure most HAWK sites were probably just dumped on some poor farmers field!!! "You have ruined my turnips!!! They all taste of rocket fuel!!" To answer an eariler question, yes, I plan to release this (if permissions from the OTC team and/or builders of the NIKEs are granted). But this GermanyCE_targets ini is FAR from stock....I've added all kinds of little things like parked (docked) ships at Bremerhaven, Wheilmshaven, Emden, Rostock, and a bunch of other places. Still need to find Rotterdam; want to use some of Polak's new beta ground objects Some screenies: Bremerhaven Port: Rostok: Emden, I think. Objects are not correctly placed, but it's all a WIP Crane and 'worf' are part of his beta pak of new objects -- some nice bulidings and bridges there! That's another thing missing....I overflew Arnhem and Eindhoven the other day, and ALL the bridges were missing. The whole Germany CE map needs a good going over....there are just so many things missing.... Where are the industrial targets in the Ruhr??? POL depots at the big ports?
