  1. Douglas A-20A 'Havoc' mod for SF/WoV/WoE PTO WW2 Installs

While working on upgrading the targets for the New Guinea map, I realized we didn't have any of the very early model Havoc's as used by General Kinney's 5th Air Force. To that end, this little mod was developed.

It represents A-20A aircraft from the 89th Bomb Squadron (Light) of the 3rd Attack Group, based at Port Moresby in mid-1942. I've tried to match, with what few photos are available, the serial numbers and nose arts. The first 7 serials =are= actual aircraft that served in the South West Pacific theatre, and I've matched as best I can the nose arts used. With the exception of "Rebel Rocket", whose serial number I was unable to find. Altogether, you'll have serials for ~28 aircraft, which is probably more than General Kinney had working at any given time, in that early stage of the war.

These aircraft, even though they still have the glass nose, have been given the 'strafer kit' of 4 fixed forward firing 50 caliber machine guns. The bomb aimer's station is not used on these aircraft; the windows have been painted over. The 2 cheek guns have been removed; I've found no data indicating they were used.

There are 2 ways I've designed for this to be used

    1) Just use it as another skin for the A-20C/Boston III. or,
this is the best way, and how I built it...
    2) Create a new aircraft for USAAF usage. All parts (inis, skin, etc), excepting the aircraft LODs and cockpit folder are supplied for you to do this. A new gunsight tga has also been supplied for use. There's even a new hangar screen, too.

= =You MUST have the latest Weapons Pak to get the WW2 Weapons and Guns!! ==

PLEASE read the enclosed readme for detailed, step-by-step instructions for both choices...I didn't write it for my health, I wrote it make YOUR lives easier... There's also the usual comments from "General Notes", plus a list of sources and Thank Yous

  2. F-89H Scropion For SF/WoV/WoE:

This package is a modification of MontyCZ's F-89D into the later H model (with wing-tip rocket pods and 'internal' Falcon missiles)
It is a semi-complete package, including everything needed, -excepting the aircraft LOD files. You will have to transfer them over from your F-89D's.

Included are all the needed inis necessary to create the new aircraft. The skins included are for the 437th FIS based at Oxnard CA, circa 1957-ish, a repeat of the 75th FIS skin from Pesque Island, and a generic USAF natural metal.

All the skin bmps have been repainted, using new templates created by me, based off Volkjager's original skins. I've duplicated his original work, so all credit goes to him for skin creation...I've basically just redone them to make use of the new panel, rivet lines and new decals created by me for the serial and buzz numbers.

Included also is a brand new WoE-style Hangar screen, only available with this mod. Damage tgas are here as well.

== You MUST have the latest weapons pak installed to make use of the needed missiles ==

--You should also have already installed the F-89D Update, which includes the new version of the Mk.4 Mighty Mouse FFAR -- the weapons data for this rocket is NOT included with this package!!! --

PLEASE read the readme for install instructions, important notes from General Explainations (a really nice guy), mostly concerning the Falcon missiles and other weapons.

  3. F-89J (Late) Scropion For SF/WoV/WoE:

This package is a modification of MontyCZ's F-89C into the late-model J (those without wing-tip rocket pods)
It is a semi-complete package, including everything needed, -excepting the aircraft LOD files. They are NOT included, as I consider it 'wrong' to do so, without permission from the original author. (and it's against CA policy to do so)

Included are all the needed inis necessary to create the new aircraft. 2 skin folders are included, complete with decals, representing the 178th FIS, NDANG 'The Happy Hooligans', and a generic USAF natural metal.

All the skin bmps have been repainted, using new templates created by me, based off Volkjager's original skins. I've duplicated his original work, so all credit goes to him for skin creation...I've basically just redone them to make use of the new panel, rivet lines and new decals created by me for the serial and buzz numbers.

Included also is a brand new Hangar screen for the Late J, only available with this mod. Damage tgas are here as well.

  4. A-4Q Skyhawk - Skin update and ini Package for SF/WoW/WoE

This is a complete package, including a full update of nosecone's Argentine Navy Skyhawk skin, that will recreate the A-4Q Skyhawk as used by the CANA (and/or FAA) during the Falklands War.

What I've done is rebuild the decals ini, added a textureset ini, and completly rebuilded -from scratch- all the needed inis to recreate this aircraft. I've included nosecone's original readme at the bottom of this text file. Therefore, I can and WILL take no credit for the skins and decals. I'm just the ini dancer! Included is also my Argentine Skyhawk Hangar Screen, all set up for use in the main ini.

== You must have the latest Weapons Pak to use the Avionics Humps and Other Weapons. Please see the "Weapons & Loadout Fixes" thread at CombatAce for more, updated weapons for the Argentine Air Forces ==

Please see the enclosed readme for relatively easy install instructions, and some notes of interest.

  5. MiG-21MF Fishbed-J 1024x Skin template:

These are new templates, based off and resized from the original little itty bity ones as originally issued by 3rd Wire. I call these "semi-HiRez, as they are now resized to 1024x1024...to me HiRez is anything OVER 2048!!

This set is designed to allow you to create new skins, either natural metal or camoflague types. I have NOT plotted out the overlaps for camos, but this can easily be done in you imaging program (Photoshop, Gimp, PSP, etc) by enlarging the camo skin bmps, and adding them as another layer. Repainting should be relatively easy after that.

I've redrawn, as best I can, all the panel, rivet lines, inspection plates, etc. Some of the rivet placement is a 'best guess', as the original size of the bmp was ONLY 256x256, and are badly blurred.

The base skin color is a 10-15% gray, which when adjusted for in the textureset ini, will look like semi-polished natural metal.

(the accompanying screenshot shows this new skin, with the 'Blue Bort' number decals)

  6. Blue Soviet Tactical Numbers - For SF/WoV/WoE 12/11/07

These are simply repaints of the Stock 3rd Wire red SovTac numbers, now in a blue color for the PVO interceptors. Or for whomever else used them :) There are 100 numbers in total.

There were all extracted from the /objects.cat, and then repainted. I've also incluced the 'numbers.lst', which is the same as used by the Red Numbers.

See the enclosed readme for fairly easy to follow instructions

This is the original version of the F-89D, as created by MontyCZ ohh so long ago.

I'm uploading this, as to make the entire aircraft available, as there'd been a few problems in acquiring it.
Monty's original readme is included in the zip.

  8. F-86F-40 Sabre, 461st FDS, USAFE skin for SF/WoV/WoE

Just a simple, natural metal skin for Zur's Sabre as used by the 461st Fighter Day Squadron (ex-527th FBS) after the experiment with camoflague ended, and the aircraft were transfered to the new unit. Timeframe is approx 1956-58-ish.

Included are new serial and buzz number decals. The Black Bar/Diamonds is borrowed from USAFMTLs camo version for the 527th. The serial numbers are actual F-86F serials, but I claim no historical accuracy if they were used by this squadron.

See the enclosed readme for super easy install instructions (for a change!)

  13. ZA-9 Kestrel, VMFA-58 'Wildcards' skin for SF, WoV & WoE:

Simple skin, using the decals from some other Wildcards mods (as everyone knows just how much I =hate= wasting good decals....), and the template provided. It is based off the original gray skin, so all credit goes to Julhelm.

It represents USMC squadron VMFA-58 "The Wildcards", had they truely existed, and were flying this aircraft. What, you all didn't think I was gonna jump on this bandwagon????? What better fictional unit to have flying a fictional aircraft, than the "Wildcards"!!!

There are personalized nameplate decals for the characters, plus a few other I always throw in for good measure, and just plain fun!! (there are 2 screenies in the zip...one shows a close up of the commander's A/C - he uses a different patch)

Simple, easy to follow instructions are in the enclosed readme...it's just a simple skin and decal pak, so it's really hard to mess this up....

  14. P-47D-25, Generic Post-WW2 Skin for SF, WoV & WoE

A "simple garden variety" natural metal skin for Wolf's P-47D-25 'Bubbletop' Thunderbolt.

This is a 'representative' skin for the F-47D Thunderbolt, in the post-1947 era, right after the formation of the US Air Force. As they were still a few around for a few years, mostly in the Air National Guard, I thought I'd throw together a little something. Now, mind you, these are NOT ANG aircraft, but should be considered as 'front line', as I didn't create ANG style decals.
The tail serial numbers are actual P-47D serials, just so's your tail fin don't look and feel so neeked.
I've also created the "buzz numbers" so prevelant in the post-war period, and into the Korea War, so this skin set will fit nicely into a "Cold War Gone Hot: 1948" scenario.

There are a few changes in the cockpit ini, adding a new sight tga (USAAF Mk.8). Instructions are below, in the "To Install" section.
And, once again, all the lights have correct positions, colors, including a landing light.
A new, WoE style Hangar Screen is also provided.
Information of 'fixing' the loadout problem with the Triple-Bazooka launchers is also supplied

  15. P-51D-30, Generic Post-WW2 Skin and Ini Update for SF, WoV & WoE

A "simple, plain old garden variety" natural metal skin for Wolf's P-51D-30 Mustang, that uses the "P-51D30_V3.LOD", or in other words, the latest version that's available in the "Planes Pak", to be found at CombatAce .

This is a 'representative' skin for the F-51D Mustang, in the post-1947 era, right after the formation of the US Air Force. I did some experimentation with 'paneling'. I just used various verrry light tones of gray to try and create the differing panel sections. The skin itself was created from Wolf's original template, with cleaned up and redrawn panel lines, my 'interperative' rivets, and a new look for the cowl vent/air filter inlet.
The tail serial numbers are actual P-51D serials, just so's your tail fin don't look and feel so neeked.
I've also created the "buzz numbers" so prevelant in the post-war period, and into the Korea War, so this skin set will fit nicely into a "Cold War Gone Hot: 1948" scenario, or even a Korean War one.

As everybody knows how I hate to waste good decals, and just for fun, I transfered over and positioned a whole bunch of the various nose arts from other aircraft. So there's something to look at; and most surely against the Regs in the post-war era....there may be some partial or semi-nudidity on some some of them.

A few changes in the cockpit ini, added 2 new sight tgas (K-14 AA and AG sights). Instructions are below, in the "To Install" section.
And, once again, all the lights have correct positions, colors, and that nice little retractable landing light lens that Wolf provided for us, in now actually the landing light. --- really, this is the last time I'm fixing it!!!!
A new, WoE style Hangar Screen is also provided, for those wishing to use the aircraft/skin in a CWGH: 48 style install.

== You MUST also have the latest weapons pak to make use of the WW2 weapons.==

  16. Polikarpov I-16-10 CAF update package for SF/WoV/WoE WW2: PTO installs

This little package will upgrade Wolf's cute little Soviet fighter to fit more with current standards of loads, lights and cockpit. You'll be transfering files from another of his WW2 Planes, so make sure you have them installed.

I've included a newer version of Wolf's Chinese Air Force skin. The skin has newly redrawn panel lines, 'interperative' rivets added (meaning I claim no historical accuracy for their placement), some weathering and general dirt added. But -- the credit for the original skin is STILL with Wolf; all I did was fiddle with some eye candy bits.

This package contains tweeked data, loadout and cockpit inis. The cockpit ini (now called "Rata_Cockpit.ini) is a copy of the one from Wolf's Tomahawk/P-40B, as it has a better look for this aircraft (albeit not perfect, but workable). You will be transfering the cockpit folder from the Tomahawk for use in this aircraft. The ini has had the pilot positions adjusted to match the I-16, plus some 'moves' courtesy of what I've learned from Lexx_Luthor.

I have also included a small (25kg) WW2 Soviet bomb, that comes with the Dev A-Team's IL-2, so you'll be using the weapons editor to add this as well.

  17. Nakajima Ki-27 "Nate" update package for SF/WoV/WoE WW2: PTO installs

This little package will upgrade Wolf's perky little IJAAF fighter to fit more with current standards of loads, lights and cockpits.

It includes a 2 skins, a natural metal for 1 Sentai, circa 1939/40-ish; and a Generic IJAAF Green (both revamped from my eariler ones). The skins have newly redrawn panel lines, 'interperative' rivets added (meaning I claim no historical accuracy for their placement), simulated fabric surfaces, some weathering and general dirt added.

This package contains tweeked main, data, loadout and cockpit inis. The cockpit ini (now called "Nate_Cockpit.ini) is a copy of the one from AD's Ki-43 'Oscar', as it has the best look for this aircraft. You will be transfering the cockpit folder from AD's Oscar for use in this aircraft (make sure you have it!). The ini has had the pilot positions adjusted to match the Ki-27.

  18. USAAF P-51C Mustang Upgrade & Skin Pak for SF/WoV/WoE, WW2 ETO Installs

This is a re-skin and ini upgrade package for Wolf's P-51C "Mustang" (Malcom Hood). The skin was created from his orginal template, but I've redrawn all the panel lines, added some rivets, made various and sundry enhancements to the skin; made several changes in the data, loadout and cockpit inis. A new N-3 gunsight tga has also been included.

The skin represents aircraft from 356th Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group "The Pioneer Mustang" unit circa 1944/45 (pre-invasion striped, or post invasion striped -whichever you deceide!). I've heavly researched this unit, and as best I could, tried to match photos of the nose art. Where data was available, the actual serial numbers have been used. All others are C model serials, but I make no claims to if they actually served in 356th. Some of the nose arts are 'interperative'; meaning I did them in the best way I could to get them to fit on the aircraft. Some are in the 99% acuracy range, so I think you all should be pretty happy with them. You'll have squadron codes and individual letters for 26 aircraft

You'll also find a new "MustangC" hangar screen, I created just for this mod, and ONLY available with it!!!

  22. Focke Wulf Fw-190A5 Upgrade Package for SF, WoV & WoE WW2 ETO/SWOTL Installs:

This is a re-paint and rebadging of original Fw-190A5, with completly redrawn rivet and panel lines. Wolf was always good about giving us the templates with his birds, and I've put this one to VERY good use.

This skin represents Fw-190A5s from 3/JG2 in the 43/44 time frame in Western Europe/Occupied France (you know, about the time of D-Day). I make NO claims to historical accuracy; I have just enough knowledge of Luftwaffe camo & markings to get into trouble (but I'm getting better!), and I'm sure there are much more educated folks out there on the subject.

I -have- tried to make it as accurate as possible, even to getting the proper RLM colors added to my swatch list. As best I could, I even added the little warning placards around the fuselage, wings and tail. Along with the 'eagle head' shape over the fuselage. Included is the nose art for aircraft #13, as flown by 'Pips' Priller.

This is a complete package, replacing the original data, loadout, cockpit and main inis, due to several modifications I've effected. There are even new hangar and loading screens, 2 of each to choose from (one just being a revamp of my original). These screens can be used on any version of the Butcher Bird.

This skin can also be used on any other versions of the FW-190, just edit the decals ini to point to the correct mark

Since there exists NO available templates to reskin ANY of Pasko's birds (or at least none I could find), I had to use his original splinter camo as a base for this (see the original readme for the Ju-87T). What I wound up doing is creating a multi-layer psd file for the needed skin bmps, and redrawing every single panel and rivet line.
So, all credit goes to the original skin creator, whoever that might be; but...
This is a NEW skin (albeit based off stock), from a NEW template, created by ME!!! And let me tell ya, re-drawing all those little buggers is a real PITA!!!

Please read the readme for install instructions and perhaps some notes of interest, in particular about the unit badge decals.

    Happy Landings!

  24. North Atlantic Gray/Swirl/Faded Splinter Camo for KM Bf-109T10

Another skin for my "What If..." carrier based Bf-109T10, modded from Wolf257's original G10. It represents a fictional North Atlantic Gray (ish) swirly pattern, superimposed over the splinter. The splinter has been lightly painted over, so it still should 'bleed' through. The (fictional) squadron represented is JGM100, same as that which came in the Bf-109T10 mod.

Please read the readme for install instructions, and other notes of interest.

  25. New skin and some ini mods for Russo's superb N model Jug.
Represents the 36th FBS, had they had Thunderbolts. Ini mods reflect latest patches, and the addition of formation and landing lights. Includes serial and buzz numbers for 36 aircraft. Serials are actual P-47N numbers.
You must have the latest weapons pack for this to work. Also, please read the readme for more informations

With thanks to Russo for the aircraft, and especially for the templates!

    Enjoy!
