View File SF2 Goliath Class CVBN & KC-130E Hercules - A "What If" Package 1/10/2026 SF2 Goliath Class CVBN & KC-130E Hercules - A "What If" Package 12/17/2025 -For SF2, Full 5 Merged Recommended- This is a MASSIVE 'What If" package for you all to enjoy and marvel at the engineering thereof. There's also a new 'what if' airplane here too! As seen in some Screenshots, this is a new aircraft carrier, taken from items found in 2003s "Factory Place". That mod included something called "carrier_still"; a gigantic, non functional 'eye candy' ship of extraordinary magnitude!! What I've done, (with a little help), is make the monstrosity (mostly) functional AS a working Bird Farm!! It can take any and all USN or other carrier based naval aircraft. There is some "oddities" with the self defense systems and damage rendering; these are explained in the "Notes" section. There are 6 ships in this class, all named. They may (can) appear in game-generated missions within their Battle Groups. They are given a service lifespan from 1969 to 2065. They use standard 3W in-game missiles, so having SF2:NA should be considered a requirement. For more added fun, I've created a new "KC-130E_cv" Hercules aircraft for use as a COD, tanker and general transport. This aircraft is FULLY carrier capable, for launches and recoveries. (it's based on Dels Hercs). It included 3 skins: USN: VR-65 "Wanderers" (1962<) VR-65 "Wanderers" (LoViz TPS <80) USMC: VMGR-252 "Otis" (<1962) All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All BuNums are historically correct for Herc's used by the USN/USMC, but as this is a 'What If', ??? why really cares!! On the aircraft selection drop-down menu, you'll see: KC-130E Hercules (CV) This let's you know it's something special, and out of the ordinary! Other than it's carrier capabilities, it's a regular Herc. You'll also be adding a new engine and ship sounds (unless you've done so already), and these will need to be added to the Sound list ini, so have that extracted (if you haven't already), and in the /Flight folder in your Mods Folder of choice. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. If anything is missing or so badly messed up it don't work, let me know and I'll try my best to get it fixed. Please read the Notes section for other useless information, and (hopefully) full credits. Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom.   5. one thing that's always been needed on 3W terrains -- better single city-2-sea tiles. "one piece does it!" the original looks like 1700s, undeveloped early colony. the new one more 20th century -- nice roads, infrastructure, etc. Like it! (having made a bunch myself)

  7. Actually, you're outta luck on the F-16s. They don't have enough weapons groups for the split you wish. You're stuck with what's there already.

You'll have 2 new skins, created from Geary's excellent template: VNAF = Glossy Sea Blue, <1954 (received from the French) VNAF2 = Natural Metal(ish) Finish <1960 Both skins represent the VNAF's 1st Fighter Squadron. Most markings are decals. National emblems are, however painted on Decal randomization is TRUE for all the serial numbers. There are 26 for each skin. The SF2 date switch is active, and will automatically shift to the NMF skin in 1960 The canopy opens with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0 (zero). Pilot figures, and WW2 period bombs and drop tanks are included. If you have the Full 7 Merged (with both Expansion Packs), you can change the AN-M64 500 pounders (aka: 500lb_bomb) for the stock 3W version (M64). The 5" HVARs are stock 3W items. You'll also be adding a new engine sound, and this will need to be added to the Sound list ini, so have that extracted (if you haven't already), and in the /Flight folder in you SF2:V Mods Folder. As extra special end-of-the-year-gifts, I've included a modified main ini for the stock VietnamSEA terrain, backdating it to start in 1955, after the withdrawal of French forces, and the partition of the country into North and South.   15. such a huge map exists. the "million meter terrain" or something like that, in the 1stGen downloads. It was never really completed, or worked on much found it: There's also Baltika's & my unfinished China/Burma/India theatre map for WW2. Goes from central India, east to Hong Kong, north (almost) to central China and south to Indonesia. So, yes extensive landscaping is possible. It's when you get beyond a certain latitude north or south that things get weird due to planetary curvature

  18. Standard maps, and many of the add-ons are 63% of Real Life (tm). That's been a discussion point since 2003!! IIRC, we "assumed" (oh! that word!!) it's the difference between a stature mile and a killometer.

  21. how about your computer specs???? Maybe you're running out of memory? Power supply issues? Overheating??? It ain't always what you see, it can be what's inside.
  22. If I may suggest that within the release, you might include the Terran Editor for that terrain, with the necessary tiles and such like. That way, one of our few remaining terraformers could pick it up more easily. Would save a lot of time and effort!
