US carrier group air defenses are crap. Brave Royal Jordanian AF Hunters mostly got through, had free gun strafing runs on the carrier (went as far as "Three is out of ammo"). Sadly, Jordanian training didn't cover bombing, as most guys kept the irons under wings flying around in confusion.

This is not a radar screen, it's a tactical display showing contacts gathered by all the flights and the Hawkeye. At least it says so in the manual :) Select Phoenix, pick a close bunch of enemy targets, mark them and approach. Range to target vs. missile range is indicated on top of the screen. "Hot trigger" LED will light up and the target mark will start flashing on the display. Launch the missiles and hope that intense jamming put up by Bears and modified Badgers won't make most of your salvo miss. The odds aren't very good, but Sparrows are pure junk against those bombers.

F-4 campaign is full of surprises. Like flying to hit a runway with one wingman, no escort, no help from Red Crown and 8 Floggers to kick your ass in overcast weather. A perfect mountain dodging trial. Wingie and 4 Floggers crashed, I hit the ground once for no damage, then again almost at home plate (two MiGs walked me home), lost a wingtip, balanced for a bit and ejected over a base.
