  1. Actually he won't - Third Wire no longer lists the 1st patch for SF P1 on their site (although I believe that it's still on the server). It is available here at Combat Ace though :) http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?dlcategory=31
  2. Search for Wings over Vietnam

A little update from TK "WOV will be officially distributed in the following regions by their distributors: Germany: Frogster Spain: Friendware Italy: Exa Media Russian: Game Factory Interactive Poland: Onimedia Taiwan: Dynastar I don't have any information on France or UK at the moment, I'll let you know if we have anything more on that."
  3. Battle Of Britain II Wings Of Victory

It's not that bad for me - fps are a bit lower than I would like (but I'm running 1600x1200 in high gfx detail) & I've had 1 "Englishtext" CTD. & I believe that they will sort it. Someone else likes it too. http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bb...;f=130;t=000324
  4. Battle Of Britain II Wings Of Victory

It does have customisable options (in case yours are towards the easy end of the scale) though & supposedly is more accurate FM wise for the flyables than Il-2. Plus where else can you get that many aircraft in the sky at once? I would say that BoB & the Il-2 series have quite different strengths. I don't know why but although I religiously bought them all I just can't get into Il-2 at all wheras I have loved BoB & Mig Alley for years. Luckily I haven't been too troubled by the problems that some people have been having (englishtext ctd & poor fps) although I am confident that those will be patched.
  5. Fates, looks like the new categories have broken the File announcement thread creation feature. :( I just uploaded 1 file to WWII section & 1 to Cold War section & nothing has appeared in WoV/Project-1 File Announcements.
  6. It does indeed appear to be fixed now. Dion't you wish they were all that easy? :)
  7. File Name: Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star File Submitter: BUFF File Submitted: 15 Sep 2005 File Updated: 10 Sep 2007 File Category: Trainers The two-place T-33 jet was designed for training pilots already qualified to fly propeller-driven aircraft. It was developed from the single-seat F-80 fighter by lengthening the fuselage slightly more than three feet to accommodate a second cockpit. Originally designed the TF-80C, the T-33 made its first flight in March 1948. Production continued until August 1959 with 5,691 T-33s built. In addition to its use as a trainer, the T-33 has been used for such tasks as drone director and target towing, and in some countries even as a combat aircraft. The RT-33A version, reconnaissance aircraft produced primarily for use by foreign countries, had a camera installed in the nose and additional equipment in the rear cockpit. 8. File Name: Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star File Submitter: BUFF File Submitted: 15 Sep 2005 File Updated: 10 Sep 2007 File Category: US Air Force Aircraft The Shooting Star was the first USAF aircraft to exceed 500 mph in level flight, the first American jet airplane to be manufactured in large quantities and the first USAF jet to be used in combat. Designed in 1943, the XP-80 made its maiden flight on Jan. 8, 1944. Several early P-80s were sent to Europe for demonstration, but WW II ended before the aircraft could be employed in combat. (The aircraft was redesignated in 1948 when "P" for "Pursuit" was changed to "F" for "Fighter.") Of 1,731 F-80s built, 798 were F-80Cs. Although it was designed as a high-altitude interceptor, the F-80C was used extensively as a fighter-bomber in the Korean Conflict, primarily for low-level rocket, bomb and napalm attacks against ground targets. 14. look at the sticky posts at the head of this section of the board. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=8452
  15. Perhaps we can rename the "Cold War" section? I tend to go with Jedi on the post WWII/Korea/Vietnam era rather than Cold War which of course ran right up into the Eighties. Planes like Sepecat Jaguar & Mirage F1 started arriving in service in 1973 with the A-10, F-15, F-16 all arriving in service from 1975 or so when the Cold War was very much on. It does get complicated with aircraft & variants that span several decades such as F-4, B-52, U-2 etc though. E.g. is a Luftwaffe F-4F (still in service) a Cold War or Modern?
  16. I agree & the thing is that in the timeframe that TK envisioned for this game very few aircraft had those features. I'm sure that if TK decides to make a sim in a more modern timeframe that they will appear (indeed, I suspect that some of the work has already been done for the USAF's recruit team sim).
  17. You can have as many installs as you like & it's very easy to do but you have to start out with a clean install. Pretty much all the beta testers do this as it makes life a lot easier when testing different builds :) Start with a clean, fully patched install. Copy the whole SF/SFG/WOV folder & rename it to whatever you want. Make a shortcut to the .exe in the new folder & run from that. Leave the original install folder untouched as it serves as a backup as well as a stock game.
  18. I suspect that they are so busy modding plus real life that they actually don't get to "play" too much.
  19. I'm guessing publishing rights - I had heard a rumour of a German publisher.
  20. As long as they are for the same model (e.g. Armourdave made an excellent F-105 but you can't swap skins between that & the Third Wire F-105 in WOV).
  21. You did download the SFG patches & not the SF P1 patches? http://www.thirdwire.com/projects/sfg/sfg_patch.htm
  22. Wait until you have it fully modded ...
  23. Calling @ Buff

Hi Mannie, Do you mean http://www.acfcentral.com/downloads/aircraft/F-15A.rar from January? I don't foresee a problem but I would have to seek permission from the creators first. I don't know but going by Flying Toaster & co.s recent work I wouldn't be surprised if there is a newer F-15A planned Btw we do have PM :p
