The past week, most of the team has been occupied with: 1- FC3 bugs 2- Supporting UH-1H and Mi-8MTV2 3- Various system changes that span multiple modules 4- Rendering engine 5- Steam and Gamefly launch A new update was released today (1.2.5.16508.227), but the only change is that it provides compatibility with the release of DCS World and modules on Gamefly. In the near future we will be building the first 1.2.6 branch. For those that care to take part, this will be available as open beta in the near future. Later, 1.2.6 will feature the Mi-8MTV2 beta. After long long thought about this and at first I thought he should hang, I think he has paid his dues. He fucked up but he got to go back in the Navy and made himself a better officer from the looks of it. We all know people who have fucked up worse and still made it through the ranks. He was a young buck back then and had his fangs out, he regrets what he did. He gave no reason at all, except he said he did it. I see this as a case of him making up every single day of his piss poor actions by making sure he was good at intel and was an asset to the Navy. Like he was proving himself all over again. I think his nomination being blocked was BS. Ross flew another 10 years in the AF and 9 as a civie pilot. Now all of sudden his life is ruined? Ross said he forgave Dorsey and Dorsey apoloigized in a letter to him. Ross isnt dead, no one died. It was in 1987, let it go. I think Dorsey made up for his mistakes 10 fold.

The downloads are back up about 90%. (there are 438 more files to sort etc) But we need help with the following: 1. Check your files you uploaded, modders I'm looking at you, if there is no screen shot PLEASE put one in there. I'm still looking at you modders. 2. Check your subscriptions. Erik said he extended everyone because of the downtime. If you see something wrong let us know. We will fix it. We gave everyone their time back plus 2 extra week as a way of saying thanks for your continued patience. 3. Finally of you see any files missing, lets us know so we can find them or the community can find then and we can get them back up. Erik used every bit of cash CombatAce had to fix it. He even poured his own money in it. So the coffers are empty. The funny thing about is that the biggest complainers about the download sections being down, were the ones who never put a dime into the site. Not a single penny. So shame on those people who complained but never helped out. So if your are feeling generous we would a appreciate the help. Erik has been doing this non stop for weeks, this is all he has done for hours and hours and hours, days an days and days, weeks and weeks and weeks all because the data center fucked up. Erik didn't fuck up, the company that handles billions of dollars in data, fucked up. If it wasn't for Erik the legacy of CombatAce and Strike Fighters in particular would be gone. And he did this all while still recovering form damn near dying on us last year. So I am standing on top of the hill and I need you all to form on me, and lets get Erik across the finish line on this.

Download updates specifics since site upgrade? Please help
Dave replied to NIELS's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
The files are the same, it was only the site that was upgraded. -
Naw I tried.....he doesn't care. As far as the TMF thing goes, had nothing to do with you Andy. It was a site move thing and several people didn't get moved over, then Oli died then that was it. Capun has has many an opportunity to become a member of THE premier SF fan base on the interwebs and has refused for fear of..."Hey man can you fix this on your model?" His frail sensibilities doesn't allow him to take any suggestions or constructive criticism as nothing but an attack on him personally. So if you enjoy mediocre the by all means download from him, if you want quality, need I say more?

9 August 2013 - DCS News Update Steam News This past week was a very significant step for the DCS series by offering DCS World and its modules (also known as DLC) on Steam. This has proved a great success and we see this as a very important outlet and expansion for the series. Other titles coming to DCS on Steam soon include: A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs (16 August 2013) DCS: UH-1H Huey We are also working with Steam to improve our presence there by: allowing activation of DCS Steam products from key purchase sources other than Steam; enabling Overlay, play time tracking, and achievements; and we hope to take advantage of Steam Workshop for items such as missions and campaigns. DCS 1.2.5 The team is now focused on completing a final update for DCS version 1.2.5. Once this version is released, we will move on to version 1.2.6 which will center on the release of the Mi-8MTv2 beta. New Su-25T Cockpit Work is underway on a new cockpit for the Su-25T that will be of the same standards as the newly updated Flaming Cliffs 3 cockpits, that includes six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) head movement. Once this is complete, we plan on creating updated Su-25T training videos. The attached images are very early Work in Progress (WiP) of the new cockpit in construction. New Effects New effect development continues. Today I can share that we are working on engine smoke. Depending on the throttle setting, engine smoke will vary, and each aircraft can have a custom level of smokiness. The attached image is early a WiP.

Hey whiteboysamurai is a damn good source too. He did a upgrade pack so to speak not to long ago. -
Capun hides all his toys because he doesn't want anyone to criticize them. We tried to have him here but when we did the freeware agreement he didn't want to have any part of it. So now you have to kiss his ass to get his crap. But there are rules, if you come over complaining or criticizing about something, you get banned from his site. As Migbuster said using his stuff is like using a punctured ball. There is nothing there of his I want. Even when he has something good, he didn't make it anyway. To ban Jug, an honorable guy is his way to show everyone how big of a dick he think he has. Its his stuff, he can do what he wants but we all know he is a model nazi. So fuck him.
