http://www.daytondailynews.com/business/wright-pattersons-c-5-cargo-planes-to-be-replaced-by-c-17s-596440.html?cxtype=ynews_rss WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The Air Force plans to retire the aging, massive C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and replace them with newer C-17 cargo transport planes sometime between Oct. 1, 2010, and Sept. 30, 2012. The 10 C-5s are to be replaced with eight C-17s, the Air Force said Friday, March 12. Maj. Cynthia Harris, a spokeswoman, said she did not have more precise dates for when the replacements will take place. The 445th Airlift Wing, an Air Force Reserve unit, flies the planes several times a week from Wright-Patterson to carry munitions, weapons, airmen’s belongings and other cargo from the United States to international destinations in support of the global war on terror. Reservists also often fly the planes in the Dayton area during pilot training runs. The Air Force has seen rapidly increasing costs for modernizing its more than 100 C-5 planes system-wide, including replacing or overhauling their engines and navigation systems. The oldest C-5s date to between 1969 and 1980. The C-17s date to the 1980s and 1990s. The noisy C-5s are among the largest aircraft in the world. Their massive cargo interiors can carry up to 270,000 pounds of cargo, including tanks and helicopters. I will be glad to get those C-17's too. Not a moment too soon.

Keep in mind a few things about the TSR and sorry to use the screen shot thread for this info. 1. No pit, using the Jag pit right now. 2. I am having bomb bay loadout issues. (Could use help there by someone who knows what they are doing and has time) 3. Needs better sounds. 4. FM needs tweaking (Fubar512 has that covered) Having said that this is an "as is " package as you all know the reason. -
Back Up, Back Up, BACK UP!
Dave replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
For immediate back ups I use a 500GB external go drive. That backs up my laptop. For my desktop I use 2 external drives and do a double back up. I have alot of files and it takes time but I just drag and drop and walk away. Then after that I will burn all to several dual layer DVD-R's. Make for a lot of disks but my stuff is safe. -

Oh Jeez, I am just an admin everyone. I am in contact with this guy. Thank you all. -
Well that is one of the hooks to get in the military. I have no problem with it. You get skills you will use the rest of your life. I do agree with you about the Mid East thing. One nuke saves alot of man power.

Well wish him good luck for me. I am sure he will do fine. As far as the civic achievements go, if he was like an Eagle Scout for example he can get another stripe. That program has been around for years. I am curious, what kind of mixed feelings? Scared for him, proud? I am always willing to listen to someone's feeling on this. It's a huge step for someone to do this.

They got one in the local area and I have NEVER had a burger this good anywhere in the world. (I'm a leading authority on burgers. ) It was hot an juicy and the fries were outstanding but dear god this burger was better than.......well you get the idea. I mean these were better than In and Out Burger in Cali. Better than Chesters in San Antonio. They were better than the Fonzie burger here at Foy's in Fairborn near the base. I am going back tomorrow that is for damn sure. High blood pressure and cholesterol be damned!
