    We have been using this tool within Insky for a while and it proves with good accuracy. We highly recommend it for anyone interested in weapon editing.

  4. .......when missile flies up, it does not turn forward down to the target's direction (target is in front of the missile), but turns into left or right. the angle between missile's direction and targetLOS is 90 degrees, very weird isn't it...... could that possibly be a problem with the missile model itself? is that issue omni-directional? Since it is VLS, the launcher does not turn the missile to the target before launch, that could confuse the game engine, and then maybe it fails to tell which axel controls pitch/yaw.

  6. Hi EricJ I will get Honeyfox read this thread. We had been discussing this for quite a few days and, since TK is not gonna fix the VLS issue until the official version needs it, we have to find some compromised solutions. One thing Honeyfox mentioned lately was making VLS missile "loft", so that artificially beam it to the rough target direction until the seeker take over. We seen quite a good accuracy for targets FAR FROM the launcher. Honeyfox tried with SA-10 and SA-19 and they all worked fine without tilting the missile on the launcher (i.e. perpendicular). However, targets overhead are not that easy to hit as a result. In most cases the missiles failed to turn to the target before overshoot. So, the ultimate solution is still unknown. We possibly seek for mix-match 2nd sort of missile, which specificly designed for overhead targets.
  7. I have noticed an unwanted roll occurs to Mig31BM/Mig31M when playing them under hard mode. Either loaded with weapons or not, it slowly rolls to the right whenever you release the joystick (and it is not a joystick problem). it acts just like what we had before on the first release of Mirage 2000D, so I believe it has something to do with the FM. I have spent some time comparing the left and right wings and control surfaces and I didn;t find any dissymmetric definition. I have noticed the centre of gravity has been placed at x=0 position, so it does not assiciate with that as well. Can anyone who fixed the same kind before give me some advise? which parameters are missing? if you need mig31M data file, download from the attachment.

And it is designed for Marcfighter's Su27sk and China J11. It should work well also on Su27 if the node names are correct. The new version is desinged for Wox Oct 2008 patch level. It took me almost a whole week to tweak the bits and pieces of this flight model and now it feels right in both hard and normal setting. Meanwhile AI can handle this very well against any 2nd and 3rd Gen fighters. Compare to the old flight model that was included in the mig29/su27 flight model pack, this one feels real. It should not take too much effort to convert it to SF2 standard as I took many data from SF2i inis to this one.   13. After about 30hrs of tweaking I'm too tired to give a long description. But this is really a good conceptual data file that defines a new flight model for helicopters. If you'd ever been frustrated by the shaky pit and bad handle of existing helos in download section, you really need to try this, it will not make you down. This is a flight model, an experimental one. Due to poor data entry of those existing helo for SF, I somehow decided to start with stock MiG-23MF of WOI as my fundamental. I tweak, tweak and tweak, and then here it is. It might seem strange when you try it, because you need to fly the stock Mig 23MF model, and you see no chopper there. But remember this is just a flight model, which is supposed to be generic. And the mig-23 is just a camouflaged shell of that model. I've tried many times in game and it really makes SF a good helo game. Some very important features of helo aerodynamics are shown in this model. How to use it: 1. This is just a data file, You will need the stock Mig23MF from WOI, put the stock ini files and whatever cockpit in a folder and name the aircraft Mig23ML (you know what to change in the ini). And then go fly it. I did not try on WOE but I guess Mig23M should also do. 2. You will need a stick with analog Yaw control to play (in the "have fun" level) with this model, This model utilizes thrust vectoring so you might want to map TVC on you stick as well. 3. by default, the nozzle is pointing at 70 degrees down backward. So when you take off, all you have to do is increase the throttle. If the nose is low, simply pitch up and it will raise. 4. By use Thrust vectoring, you can adjust the nozzle between 70 degrees and 120 degrees. The latter is effectively, down forward. By setting your nozzle down forward, you can remain your altitude while pitch down your nose very hard and attack the ground with ease. 5. the rudder is slow but very effective, helps accuracy so much. You can blow a fule can with one bullet, and blow 2 tanks on the ground with 3 rockets. I hope you can give your comments about it. This model currently suffers from bad control on minus speed (i.e. when you fly backward), if that happens, simply let the aircraft turn and put your nozzle to backward down. new helo.zip Insky_orsin

  17. I'm working on an experimental ECM aircraft. Can anyone tell me 1.which particular parameter in Aircraft_Data.ini decides RCS of an aircraft? 2. Can RCSModifier and HeatSignatureModifier parameter be greater than 1.0 ?
  18. I'm trying to add a ILS crossbar on the ADI ball for non-MFD pits. I was told there was a way to do that by adding an artificial horizon. And there was a post about it long time ago. Anyone has idea where to find it?

  21. I have noticed a picture posted yesterday in the screenshot thread, as below, that civilian buildings now seem to have their shadows like other attackable objects. Can anyone tell me how this was done? or which mod it comes from?
