  1. Ok here are some random pics of testing today, it gives a good indication of the varied flyable planes. It is looking good for release this week, just added Reagan's innaugauration and some sequences of the movie Top Gun to the in game screen sounds files. enjoy the pics: In game screen by Kout F-14A on Mig Cap over Hanoi 1/925th VPAF regiment Missle carrying MIG-19 on the prowl. 2. I am happy about the positive feedback, you never know if the "hypothetical" campaigns are something that people like to play now and then. The problem with this campaign was the sheer amount of planes, it got ot the point where it was putting a high end PC on it's knees. if you can belive it , I cut out 25 air units from the campaign file. It was really like WW III, there were a hundred planes in the air at once and it was taxing thr system. I remember escorting a dozen F-111s with my 8 F-15Cs and engaging 12 MIg-29As and 8 MIG-23s. It was a slide show. So I went back to the drawing board last night and cleaned house. It's more playable now for sure... but one day I might release the original cmapaign file...it ...was....nuts. BTW it will not require seperate install. The mian screen is optional, other than that , it is only sperate if you want it to be.
  3. Been working on this one on and off for a year, almost ready. Special thanks to Spectre-USA Blitzpig and Viper29_CA and Kout. Vietnam 1984: The Vietnam War ended in a stalemate a decade ago. North Vietnam has taken the opportunity, of the prolonged cease fire, to build up its ground and air forces. The Soviet Union has recently taken an active role in mobilizing fighter regiments for the VPAF and the potential of the Soviet union adding actual ground troops to the area is now a reality. The uneasy temporary peace comes to an end. The Reagan administration Withdraws the United States from the decade long diplomatic process. On December 18th 1984 the coalition starts a 2 week air offensive against North Vietnamese targets. Flyable squadrons will include: USAF 94th TFS 'Hat in the Ring' F-15C 53rd TFS 'NATO Tigers' F-15C 4th TFS 'Fightin' Fujins'F-16A 34th TFS 'Fighting Rams' F-16A 561st TFS 'Wild Weasels' F-4E 77th TFS 'Gamblers' F-111F USN VF-2 'Bounty Hunters' F-14A VA-37 'Bulls' A-7B VA-75 'Sunday Punchers' A-6A VA-93 'Blue Blazers' A-7B VFA-113 'Stingers' F-18A VF-301 'Devil's Disciples' F-4SL VA-145 'Swordsmen' A-6A VF-143 'Pukin Dogs' F-14A USMC VMFA-542 'Tigers' AV-8C VMFA-314 "Black Knights" FA-18A VNAF 522nd Fighter Squadron F-5E Tiger II RAAF 3rd Squadron RAAF Mirage III RAF NO 74 Squadron 'Tigers' F-4J Soviet 238th IAP Mig-29A 241st IAP Mig-23M 243rd IAP SU-15F VPAF 1/921st "Sao Do" FR Mig-21MF 2/921st "Sao Do" FR Mig-19 (IRM)
  4. Give it a try but you wont need a seperate install for the Russian mod, you just need to install the Russian mod over your (hopefully working) Korean full mod. so just one installtion of the Korean war mod should do.

Is it SF1 or WOV? is it the gold edition of SF1? when you log to the main screen what date is in the lower right? Finally it could be the plane you have added, does it happne with the stock plaines as well?

  10. Tons of planes, and campaigns and all sorts of goodies over in the download section here. Not sure how long you have been gone but go browse and download to yourt hearts content.
  11. do you have access to another PC? if you do, copy the entire contents of the game folder to another pc and see if you can duplicate the issue. If you can , then reinstall fresh in the other PC and tell me if it happens. if the same install on the other PC does not duplicate the issue then we need to look somewhere other than the game. Let me verify that it's a fresh install no mods added also while we are at it. If it is a fresh isntall and you do not have access to another pc. Install game (do not patch) then try it. just the stock install from the get go.
  12. I am as veteran as they come in this game and I have not heard of that one.Exit game , Go to your pilots data folder in the game installation and tell me what you see.
  13. That is one cool tile set Steve. Check this out guys...nothing will stop historical accuracy LOL! Now you get Soviet Squadrons flying Nort Korean colors in campaign (done by switching name list). As they did in real life. Also changed to more accurate numbers (in the file) to more accurately depict the 196th during the korean war. The campaign data ini was over riding any nation decal change. So the only way to accomplish this was to switch squadron name list. worked like a charm Before: After
  14. That was my baby , I worked on it for 6 months. Try the campaign please , it is where the game shines. Tons of real historical data on squadrons and aces. Also tons of skins depciting every last detail of every last squadron. Every unit that flew for uncle HO is flyable in game. The kitchen sink was thrown at that mod. Notice the flight names? even that was changed. Enjoy it! it was a aTON of work! and a TON of fun to make.
  15. I will be releasing the "Red Falcon" add on to the Korean Air War campaign. This is material that Kout and I worked on many months ago but could not release it due to real life issues popping up. 16. Hi everybody, it's been 7 long months, I have missed you all. This is the latest pic of the India /Pak campaign. The terrain is courtesy of the "master of terrain" Deuces...enjoy. Campaign coming first quarter 2006. I'll be contacting India/Pak team members as work progresses on the terrain.
  17. Hi guys, waiting on some planes and then it should be done, it is about 90% finshed. I just have had very little time lately, I should have more time in about 2 weeks.
  18. Been busy at work and taking some time off of simming. Played a game called hunters this afternoon, while the game is off topic , the subject matter we played probably is not. We recreated April 24 1967 strike on Kep airfield (loosely, the painted aircraft are from the 161 Chargers Midway, which is more appropriate for 1972). The game is free to download and the miniatures have to be purchased and painted. The game turned out a US victory, one F-4B was lost to a MIG-17 and 2 MIG-17s as well as a MIG-21 were brought down. kep airfield was hit pretty hard. The 10 sided die denotes altitude in increments of 1000 feet (ceiling was 10, it was on the last 7 mile approach to the field) , the 20 sided die speed. MIG-17s on Intercept An overall look at the game table Two Sidewinders fired from an off camera F-4B tracking a MIG-21 (they impacted shortly after, the MIG-21 got off 2 Atolls but both missed the A-4) MIG-17 gets off a quick defelction shot (misses) Navy to the rescue A piece of terrain (an airfield, created by using screenshot fucntion in WOV, then printing and cutting out)
  19. The read me file contains the info . ;) You need the correct install path for it to work right. This is from the read me and it is the first step of the install. STEP 1 Please make sure your WOV game installation follows this path (or the medals will not work): C:\VPAF\WingsoverVietnam
