  1. Wrench has one (created from the freighter destroyed model), set up as a terrain object.
  2. Then you should be OK, as long as you're running in DX10 mode. With every patch, TK seems to have made the series more and more shader-dependant.
  3. Obviously not in a ThirdWire .lod format.
  4. The "UberAI" mod has been obsolete for some time now. The AI in the '08 patch for SFP1, and the AI in all flavors of SF2, do not require it, and in fact, would be adversely effected by it. Besides, it's possible to tailor each and every FM by adding and editing the various AI sections.
  5. The quickest fix I can think of, is to add these entries to the data.ini, just under the flight control section, and adjust them to suit your tastes. [AIData] TakeOffRotationAngle=15.0 MaxPitchCombat=22.5 <---------adjust here MaxPitchForAltitude=15.0 <---------and here Otherwise, the only other fix that comes to mind, is to get C5 to rewrite the FM, or at least to redo the drag/alpha table sections for all the lift surfaces, using 1-degree interpolation (instead of the default 5-degree values). Come to think of it, Caeser, if you have the time, you can create a spreadsheet that will accomplish the same task, using the existing "coarse" values, and interpolating the single degree data points bewteen them.
  6. Happy Easter!

    Happy Easter to all.
  7. You're not going to like the workaround.....upgrade to Windows 7 and get a DX10 compatible video card. It seems that ThirdWire has optimized the sim for DX10 shaders, even to the point that TK has announced that eveything he releases from now on will be DX10 only.
  8. Is It Me...

That's a pretty common issue. I've even seen it were someone's started a thread, directly above a thread asking the very same question, in its freaking title! We've even had a few "veteran" posters start "QnA" threads, where every single question that they've asked, could have been answered with no more than a five minute search through the knowledge base.
  9. US SAMs?

Chaparrals, Hawks, Nikes, Terriers, Talos, Seasparrow, SM1`and SM2, are all available
  10. But how many of them are armed with Terrier missiles? Specifically, nuke-tipped ones?
  11. BTW, Kev.... Here's a nice, big mat of Sargassm weed, just off the continental shelf.
  12. I have an issue of Proceedings from 1981 that argues against that. There were no Hornets operational in the fleet in November of 1981.
  13. There where no F-18s in the fleet back then...and by back then, I meant in 1980 when the film was released.
  14. Watch the segment on the so-called "sidewinder seeker-head"..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfQRetYV8k0&feature=related I especially like the expert that they bring in, stating that it is from a sidewinder. Are they for freaking real? An AIM-9 is 5 inches in diameter.....about half the diameter of the unit they showed. My suspicion is that it's some sort of bench calibration test unit, created from the chin-mounted infrared pod (IRST), from an F-4B.
  15. I don't believe this

I take it that you weren't earning a living before, during, and immediately after the Reagan years. Because if you were, you'd have a decidedly different take on the matter.
  16. We would you need to move it? It should be in there already, unless for some reason, you elected not to merge your sims (SF2,2V,2E, ad infinitum)
  17. I don't believe this

It sounds as if you did not watch the pertinent part of the video, Steve. The expert they brought in claimed that it was an AIM-9 seeker head, after he claimed to be a former F-18 pilot.
  18. All figures range, distance, and altitude figures in this series are expressed in meters (m). All weights, in Kilograms (kg). The correct explosive weight for that weapon would be 44.0 kg, according to this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_81_bomb. Oh, and the actual CEP of a Mark 81 is less than 5 meters (about 15 feet).
  19. And buxon babes that may, or, may not require additional means of flotation (to keep them above the tangled mats of sargassm weed)
  20. A terrain with just water? Also, FYI, the "Sargasso sea" is way east and south of the delineated area. It's just above the equator, between Africa and South America.
  21. The "models" on the deck, are no doubt part of the carrier's .lod file, and cannot be deleted.
  22. Great, free W64bit DDS Viewer

Paint.net accomplishes the same...and a whole 'lot more. Oh, and it's free, too.
