  1. Are you asking in regards to existing models?
  2. There is no "infrared" view in this series per se, that is, a view that specifically shows hot or warm objects as light sources. There is, however, a low light camera feature, that operates both through weapons designators, and/or as a stand alone unit. The F-14B cockpit has such a view keyed to it's MFD (via its TCS system). You'll need to add the system to both the aircraft's data.ini, and to its avionics.ini.
  3. Delta wings = large lift surfaces with comparatively low drag. Another benefit of the delta-wing design, is that it makes for an aircraft with predictable and benign handling characteristics.
  4. RIP Ronnie James Dio

We search for the truth We could die upon the tooth But the thrill of just the chase Is worth the pain... We'll know for the first time If we're evil or divine We're the last in line! We're the last in line!
  5. Are you refusing the (free) cherrywood or mahogany cockpit trim?
  6. That's the external model's canopy bow. One can either experiment with the clip distances in the flight data.ini, or set the value for the "ShowFromCockpit" declaration (located under the fuselage entry in the model's data.ini file) from TRUE to FALSE. This may also be due to, or exacerbated by, other factors (Cockpit position, Open Cockpit declarations, Cockpit CG Offset issues, etc.),

  8. RIP Ronnie James Dio

Holy s**t! I somehow missed the news that he was even sick....
  9. Kev, I run everything off the SF2 folder. Everytime you patch your merged intsall, all of them are updated. Check the dates on the cat and exe files, and you'll see.
  10. The FM is mostly virtual, though the use proper mesh names is important in as far as animations and physical damage modeling is concerned.
  11. GLOOOOOORIA!

IIRC, It was on Hulu.com two years ago.
  12. Boom n Zoom....anticipate your opponent's move and nail him when he executes it. Even with GregoryP's FM (which makes it more challenging), the Mustang has no issues with AI Spits as long as you don't try turning with them.
  13. The S model has been out for some time. Ant is craeting a hi-res texture-set for it . Here's a vid of the model (with the old texture-set), in SF2, complete with an SF-2 compatible flight model. http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1273526441/gallery_279_43_55470927.wmv
  14. Air power in 'Nam

The MiG-21 cannot hold more than a sustained 4.5 Gs above 20,000 feet (even early F-15s could sustain well over that figure at altitude). It has nothing to do with thrust, but with the bird's aerodynamics. That's one of the reasons that the Chinese built a compound delta varient of that design. Also, the earlier MiG-21 models were limited to less than Mach 1 at low altitude, due to instability and control issues (not due to the pilot's physique). The '21MF solved those problems, and was easily able to exceed Mach 1 on the deck.
  15. Falcon, the last time I looked, there were several nice (and free) video card twaeking and testing utilities out there. Find one that benchmarks or stresses your VRAM, and see if it duplicates the issue.
  16. Happy Birthday Amokflo!

    Happy Birthday, Florian!
  17. [quote name='Piecemeal' date='12 May 2010 - 06:33 PM' timestamp='1273703619' post='411228' That seems to be something I overlooked. Getting warmer? What major component are the intakes and variable ramps part of?
  18. Yes you are. I'll give you a clue: ShowFromCockpit=TRUE
  19. I would think so, though knowing Dave as I do, I would not put it past him to have a complete skin whipped up in under an hour
  20. Does "click to enlarge" mean anything to you?
