  1. I cooked this up for a personal project. A few guys have approached me about using it with their terrain projects, so I may release it this weekend.
  2. No, as Baghdad Bob would probably say, "They are weapons notorious for their infidelity"
  3. C5 ,you wacko. I wound up pulling a neck muscle at the gym the other day, and it was almost healed, until I saw that. I laughed so freaking hard, that I threw it out again.
  4. Also, if I'm not mistaken, paratroopers are set up as bombs. You must have a target designated within the mission file, for your "parabombers" to drop their payload on.
  5. Every object in the game, from aircraft on down to moose and water Buffalo (yes we have those too), have service start and service end dates. that's where I'd look first.
  6. I really hate it when a talanted skiner like Wrench refuses to make a skine for me
  7. Of course it doesn't. You need to set it to Win95 or 98 compatibility. Back to the knowledege base with ya!!!!!
  8. That is, until the eels find out......
  9. Try flying the instant action mission. If that doesn't crash, you'l have a clue as to which addon is causing the issues.
  10. And lest you think that last post was in bad taste, look at the kind of day I've been having....
  11. Those are what we call "skines". The skiners make them
  12. I tried this a few years ago. You'll wind up with a "grey" screen, but the imagery will be in color. A real immersion killer.
  13. Poor FPS

Yayyyyyyyy!!!! According to starbucker, I have a super-approaching-monster level computer!!!!!
  14. Yes and No. Only the F-117 and the B-2 have bypass-cooled "beavertail" exhaust diffusers, and they're designed to be effective against ground launched IRMs, not airborne threats. They also lack afterburners. The F-22's IR signature reduction comes mainly from it's ability to supercruise, from the location of its wing fuel cells, and lastly, from the marginally buried exhaust section of its engines. It still presents a visible IR sig when compared to the '117 or B-2, though it is quite reduced compared to say, an F-16.
  15. Poor FPS

What do you think he's beating that horse with?

  17. Poor FPS

An 30 FPS average is quite playable in a flight simulation. In fact a low FPS in the high teens is still playable. Remember, this is not a first person shooter, where a super high end graphics card will help. The TW series scales quite nicely with CPU speed, and does quite well on my Intel E8400 at 3.6 Ghz. ATI cards have had some issues with this series, right from its inception. Those issues ranged from texture corruption (RWR screens did not display in the first two patches with ATI cards), to inexplicably slow FPS, when certain graphic options were enabled. I have a "mere" GeForce 9600, and I regularly see FPS well over 70 (when I disable refresh rate synchronization), with all graphics options set to their highest, except for horizon draw distance (which is CPU limited).
  18. PSU Replacement Question.

You must disconnect the POWER cables from all the aforementioned, as they are part of the PSU's harness. You may be able to get away with not disconnecting some, if not all. of the data cables, for access reasons. This usually only applies to PATA ribbon cables. SATA cables are hardly ever in the way.
  19. Yes, you must make the Ukrainian ground objects specific to that nation. All the game engine recognizes is 'Friend' or 'Enemy' in the nations.ini file, so let that be your guide.
  20. Extracting music question

All those files are compressed into an archive. In Janes F-15 and F-18, that file was named "SOUNDZ.RWV". The F-18 guys developed an extraction utility, which they christened "F18SoundManager", that also worked in F-15, and may possibly work in FA. You can get it here: http://tsh.war-fighters.net/index.php?opti...0&Itemid=29
  21. That's right. Lieutenant colonels must salute Navy Captains. Keep in mind that the US Navy predates all other services, there was a Colonial Navy before there was an army.
  22. Iranian Air Space

Wrong...... If they escalate that way, they'll wind up with no air force, no air defenses, and probably no navy, inside of two weeks.
