  1. Net Neutrality - URGENT

    Done
  2. Fury

Just saw it this evening. It was as intense and graphic as any flick that I've seen to date, so one may want to think twice before taking young children to see it. The body count at the end was typical Hollywood, but all in all, I found it an entertaining experience. BTW, I went to an AMC theatre that featured electric recliners, ala Lazy-Boy, with so much room between rows that one could easily squeeze by even with the foot-rests of the adjacent seats full extended. It was a treat. My favorite scene:
  3. The 77 year-old mystery may soon be solved, as authorities announced that they have "with a high degree of certainty" found wreckage from Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra, on Nikumororo atoll. http://news.discovery.com/history/us-history/aluminum-fragment-appears-to-belong-to-earharts-plane-141028.htm http://news.discovery.com/history/us-history/amelia-earhart-resting-place.htm
  4. All ships that have a usable flight deck should have a separate flight deck LOD file stated in its data file. Sometimes you can cheat by using that statement alone (with no physical lod).
  5. X-Wing / TIE Fighter getting a digital release at last.

I have X-Wing v Tie Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. The latter had better graphics and models, but a weaker story line and missions. And, I recall picking up the first title on "discount" for $60.00 back in December of 1997! By the time I picked up XWA, it was in the bargain-bin at the local CompUSA for like $10.00 (Summer of 2000 maybe?).
  6. One thing; The CAF would most likely have gone back to using the "stars and bars" insignia of the pre-revolutionary days, as seen on these Thunderbolts:
  7. A "fakepilot" is only visible from the cockpit if the node that it is attached to has "view from cockpit=true" declared under its entry in the aircraft's data.ini file.
  8. New Ground Objects

    Wow, Geezer, that's amazing work.
  9. Gee, I dunno...it's only been referred to as Star Trek TOS for a short while....like for the past 27 years or so
  10. Klingons in TOS did not have cloaking devices. The only possible evidence that they did, was after they shared technology with the Romulans in a season 3 episode, "The Enterprise Incident".
  11. Control, The bogey appears to be surrounded by some sort of protective barrier. Our missiles and cannon rounds cannot penetrate it, and are detonating harmlessly against it!
  12. NVIDIA Turf

Does this mean that we also have to employ Nvidia landscapers?
  13. Really, does that mean we should stop flying the 90% or so of the aircraft models out there, because they're "obsolete"? You do realize that this series does not simulate modern avionics or even some of the capabilities of aircraft introduced after 1982, right? It was conceived to emulate aircraft from say, 1947 to 1982. And by the way, it's Su-33, not "SU-33".
  14. Off to NYC...

Cool, enjoy your visit. Too bad you don't have enough time on this visit to visit the USS Intrepid air & space museum. That's a definite must see for your next trip.
  15. Control, The intruder is huge beyond belief, is invisible to our infra-red missiles, and it appears to emit a wake that interferes with our radars and warning receivers!
  16. Hendo Hoverboard

I wonder if it attracts eels......
  17. On glide path: Su-33 on approach to the Ulyanovsk.
  18. Sea flanker cockpit

Very good, YEYEYE, the Su-33 is now complete!
  19. New BSG movie

  20. A suggestion; replace the existing glass material with one that is somewhat reflective. That simple tweak helps transform the model.
  21. Those aren't graves beneath Dave's desk. Those are eel-lairs.
  22. I realize that they weren't. I simply felt that the OP had not implied simply ripping off models. There are actually quite a few videos on Facebook (which BTW, is affiliated with Google), on how to convert Sketchup models into a format that is importable into 3dMax. As long as people simply obey the rules here (the most important one being obtaining permission first), we have no issues with them. Besides, as I pointed out, it's usually much easier to build simple models such as buildings, from scratch. I mean, how difficult could creating and exporting what amount to simple cubes and cylinders be?
