  1. By default, no. Though we have something in the works to remedy that issue.
  2. Duke Cunningham reported once encountering a MiG-17 armed with Atolls.
  3. They do but what good what it do you in-game? Terrains in this series are not true to scale. The features on real aerial maps would not be in their correct locations, or have the correct elevations when transposed to ingame "reality". Last, but not least, it won't work, as the game engine generates lo-res versions of what ever terrain tiles are loaded to populate the in-flight map. If one where to replace the normal tiles with versions that used a simple black & white checkerboard pattern, guess what your in-flight map would look like?
  4. I DID mention that before. Visible sub-launched torpedoes would look rather silly in game, wouldn't they? All they need is the wake effect.
  5. An important heads up for my CA friends.

    Keep the faith, Falcon.
  6. Stunning artwork

Four gun ports (as opposed to six on the F-80), and the gun ports are covered over.
  7. The E-2 (and the E-3) do not need to carry chaff. They are, afterall, carrying the largest airborne jamming system made atop their air-frames. As for IR countermeasures, I'm would assume that both AWACS types carry them, though I would wait until either Typhoid or SidDogg chimed in before adding them.
  8. Stunning artwork

Come on people. Does anybody see, (or know) the differences? Kevin and I were on the phone and picked out that it was a T-33 almost right off the bat. What makes the aircraft in the painting a T-33 and not an F-80?
  9. Stunning artwork

    OK
  10. Stunning artwork

Wow! As far as I'm concerned, that's now the loading screen for all my F-80s
  11. Torpedoes fired from subs have been working in this series (and the preceding titles) since at least 2005. They are no different in operation than missiles, just that they should not have a 3-d model, as all that you need is the wake effect. I made several videos of sub-launched torps (and even nuke-tipped SLBMs) in SFP1. They may still be in either our archives, or in simHQs.
  12. This was shown on the Public Broadcasting Network here in the 'States about 5 or so years ago. The two videos here cover carrier landings in 20 foot seas off the coast of Australia, some at night. The footage is great, and makes one respect what Naval aviators have to go through. Part 1 Part 2
  13. Not likely, and never on the wingtip rails. It is also unlikely that one would find an F-104 providing MiGCAP for the Navy in Route Pack 1 at night. That was strictly the job of Navy F-4s. This is, of course, is due to the randomness of the TW game-engine.
  14. Did you extract the textures from both? Did you notice anything, uh, that they share in common?
  15. On a Cougar? I have some experience there. I'll bet you dimes to doughnuts that your X and Y pots are carbon-tracked, and causing spikes on those axis. Take the stick apart, remove and disassemble the pots, using electrical contact cleaner (make sure that it's plastic friendly, first), reassemble, and recalibrate. I have a zero dead zone setting in my Cougar control panel, because after that little bit of maintenance, that's how accurate it has become.
  16. Yes, and many members here do just that so that they can use the 3rd-party textures that are available for the TW A-6 models.
  17. As per Marcelo, the Su-33 will soon be released. It still suffers from a few issues, many of which we simply do not have the time to fix. The FM is flyable in hard mode with no issues (though I recommend that one use a full HOTAS and rudder pedal setup for best results), and the AI has been tweaked to allow it to operate off the Ulyanovsk model.
  18. Krakken? Is that some urban version of the Drakken?
  19. All your aircraft are belong to us.
  20. Yep, that is your burner tga in inside the nozzles, however, the afterburner effect is by....it's by.....well, hell, that's mine!
  21. Actually, two. The Su-33's needs an AoA indexer for carrier approaches.
  22. I PM'ed him regarding the model and your interest in it. Keep a watch on your CA personal messages.
  23. As mentioned in another thread, Marcelo intends to release this model, soon.
  24. No, that is a Su-33 with working canards, wing-fold, bump-mapping, etc. Though I'd say it could use some help with texture mapping. Why not send him a PM, and offer your services, Russ?
