  1. SA-19 is essentially a SAHM with an optical backup, and is not IR-guided. Each Kashtan mounts 8 of them (plus reloads): http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/sa-19.htm The data you've posted is suspect, and not even close to reality. This is what I use: [WeaponData001] TypeName=SA-19 FullName=SA-19 Grisom ModelName=SA-19 Mass=65.000000 Diameter=0.180000 Length=2.830000 SubsonicDragCoeff=0.120000 SupersonicDragCoeff=0.222000 AttachmentType= SpecificStationCode= NationName=SOVIET StartYear=1986 EndYear=2020 Availability=3 BaseQuantity=16 Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1988 ExportEndYear=2020 ExportAvailability=3 WeaponDataType=1 RailLaunched=TRUE RocketPod=FALSE Retarded=FALSE FinStabilized=TRUE SpinStabilized=TRUE HasGrowl=FALSE EffectClassName=MediumMissileEffects ReleaseDelay=0.000000 WarheadType=0 Explosives=16.000000 FusingDistance=7.500000 ClusterBomblets=0 ClusterDispersion=0.000000 GuidanceType=12 Accuracy=68 MaxTurnRate=24.000000 MaxLaunchG=1.000000 LockonChance=90 LaunchReliability=95 ArmingTime=0.300000 SeekerFOV=5.000000 SeekerGimbleLimit=120.000000 SeekerTrackRate=120.000000 SeekerRange=10000.000000 MinLaunchRange=2400.000000 MaxLaunchRange=8500.000000 Duration=14.000000 CounterCountermeasure=45.000000 NoiseRejection=22.000000 CapabilityFlags=0x10000090 LoftAngle=0.000000 DescentAngle=0.000000 MaxLoftAltitude=0.000000 CLmax=14.000000 MinFreq=0.000000 MaxFreq=0.000000 BoosterStart=0.000000 BoosterDuration=4.600000 BoosterAccel=23.124 BoosterEffectName=MissileInFlightEffect BoosterSoundName=Missile BoosterNodeName= BoosterPosition=0.000000,-1.600000,0.000000 SustainerDuration=2.300000 SustainerAccel=1.000000 SustainerEffectName=MissileFireEffect SustainerSoundName= SustainerPosition=0.000000,-1.000000,0.000000 InFlightEffectName=MissileInFlightEffect InFlightSoundName= ReleaseAnimationID=-1 EODisplayFlags=0 CEP=0.000000
  2. Very Hollywood-esque? I've never seen a SAM in this series (stock or even 3rd party), miss and then reaquire. Here's what is essentially a 40 year old SAM. Notice how it maneuvers while acquiring and chasing down a target. Do you find that too "Hollywood-esque", as well? :
  3. They're all compatible from one title to another (though not necessarily from one series to another). It sounds as if you're missing crucial items, such as the .lod files, which must be extracted from the object.cat file and placed in that aircraft model's folder (that is, if said aircraft is not "native" to that sim).
  4. Nobody noticed it's MontyCZ birthday?!

    Happy Birthday, Monty!
  5. No.....lol I've just checked one of my old installs, and found that the Razabam A-6A does NOT have a VA-75 texture, so that's why it loads sans textures. You'll need to edit the "UnitName" entry to match one of the 3 texture sets that the Razbam Intruder A comes with (VA-165 boomers, VMA-121, or VA-52).
  6. Does the texture set name (in the A-6A.ini file) precisely match that of the "UnitName" entry?
  7. PSA Flight 182 crash - 1978

The "Screaming Superman" was one of the survivors of the crash. IIRC, He was ejected from the aircraft when it broke up on impact, and witnesses reported seeing him "flying and tumbling through the air, while on fire".
  8. Low mileage, cherry condition, for sale SOLD! Neat site, cool videos: http://www.prideaircraft.com/flanker.htm
  9. Veeeery nice! It would be cool if we could get similar user-made packages in other languages (Hebrew for SF2I, etc), since SF2 allows for multiple speech packs.
  10. That's fairly simple to do, though in most cases, aircraft models that don't have them are simply paying lip-service to accuracy; chances are that their real life counterparts do not carry them, either. First, you need to add the necessary entries as subsystems of the fuselage (or wings, as may be the case in some instances). In the data.ini for the aircraft in question, locate the Fuselage section, and scroll down to the system entries. We'll add our ECM and Counter Measure Dispensers as systems, in numerical order, like so: SystemName[001]=FuselageFuelCell1 SystemName[002]=FuselageFuelCell2 SystemName[003]=FuselageFuelCell3 SystemName[004]=LeftAirBrake SystemName[005]=RightAirBrake SystemName[006]=Tailhook SystemName[007]=UpperAntiCollisonLight SystemName[008]=LeftEngine SystemName[009]=RightEngine SystemName[010]=DecoyDispenser SystemName[011]=ECM Next, we'll need to add the following declarations somewhere in the data.ini (you can add them after the weapons entries). These determine the ECM's type (Deceptive, Noise, or Dual-mode), its signal strength, and its frequency range, and additional capabilities, such as the ability to jam continuous wave radars. Research is key here... The CM ejectors or dispensers can be added as a single unit, or (as in the case of, say a MiG-29) as multiple ejectors. As the CM ejectors are linked to a visual effect, it obviously behooves one to locate the ejector(s) in a believable location on the airframe. That usually requires a bit of trial and error. Note that all coordinates are in meters and fractions of meters, radiating out in X,Y, and Z coordinates from the center of the model. [ECM] ReferenceName= SystemType=ECM_JAMMER JammerType=DECEPTIVE_JAMMER JammerStrength=40.0 MinFreq= MaxFreq= CanJamCW= MinExtentPosition=-0.30, 1.60, 0.10<---location in x,y,z coords MaxExtentPosition= 0.30, 0.60, 1.00<---location in x,y,z coords [DecoyDispenser] SystemType=DECOY_DISPENSER EjectPosition=-0.158,-7.932,-0.4<---location in x,y,z coords EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-30.0<-----eject velocity in x,y,z coords NumFlare=30 NumChaff=30 MinExtentPosition=-0.25,-5.00,0.30<---location in x,y,z coords MaxExtentPosition= 0.25,-4.60,-0.10<---location in x,y,z coords
  11. Test video, no issues here, BeachAV8er.... SA-2LaunchWav.wmv
  12. Post your data entries for those SA-2 models that are behaving erratically.
  13. Why not simply hide that file, by changing it's name (ie, singlemissionscreen_bad.ini), as an obvious trouble shooting step? That would force the system to use the default one. And yes, there are entries for the mission editor functions in that default file (which, BTW is located in the menu.cat file).
  14. Is there a version.ini file present, inside of your SF2 folder? If so, is this line present under "Version": StrikeFighters2 Exp2=TRUE?
  15. IIRC, the thread tells which shader.fx file to associate with a given effect type (fire, smoke, explosion, etc.)
  16. That's in the data entry for the weapon itself (the SA-2E missile) and not the SA-2E launcher's data.ini.
  17. There's an entire thread on this in the SF2 knowledge base.
  18. Did you force the SA-6 batteries by specifically placing them, or did you allow the system to select SAM types at random, and then wound up with SA-6s?
  19. My debt with films

Another Michael Mann film that's well worth watching is "Man Hunter", starring William Peterson. This was the first film to feature the Hannibal Lecktor character (in this case, played by Brian Cox), predating "Silence of the Lambs" by over 5 years. The movie "Red Dragon" was essentially a poor remake of this film.
  20. Like I said before..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r8UUoEP-tQ
  21. Let this here serve as a warnin' to all ye pirates who might consider venturin' on to this here site...well spoken, Dave, descendant of Lt. Maynard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Maynard
  22. Don't blame the other posters....it's all Dave's fault. He's always the source of negative rumors around here. That's why we often refer to him as "the old washer woman" behind his back
  23. In real life, variants of both the MiG-21 and MiG-23 started carrying the R-73 (AA-11) during the 1980s and 1990s...so that's not unrealistic. In as far why some aircraft seem to get a upgraded loadout, well, that has to do with the availability dates of the aircraft's default weapon-set. as defined in the loadout.ini. In the aforementioned case regarding the F-4 and the '9L, the 9L is defined as being available well into the 2000s. If it were not, the next oldest weapon that meets the loadout criteria for that aircraft and (weapons station) would be loaded in its place.
