  1. The example shown in the image, is a cockpit for a '21MF, which does not sport a HUD. HUDs were intro'd on the '21-93 and later conversions, no MiG-21s ever shipped new from the factory, with HUDs as original equipment.
  2. Firstly, that's not a HUD (Head Up Display), but rather a combining glass for the gunsight pipper and reticle. Also, there's a video floating around somewhere, taken from the perspective of someone sitting in a MiG-21's ejection seat, where the "videographer" cycles through the various reticles...and it shows both of the above to be correct.
  3. Agostino, YOu can just install all the titles (without patching), and then add the SF2E June 09 patch. That patch will cover all titles. What Typhoid meant, was that you can access all terrains, objects, and aircraft from the SF2E executable, as SF2 becomes the "master" title, in a merged install. PS: You should get SF2I, too....
  4. It's based on the US Navy's AFX-653 prototype Subject: B.1. A/F-X The A/F-X (Attack/Fighter X) was a joint USAF/USN project to produce a heavy attack aircraft with a secondary fighter role; it would have replaced the F-111 and A-6 in the attack role, and (partially) the F-14 in the fighter role. It was a short-lived programme, originating in 1991 after the cancellation of the McDonnell Douglas/General Dynamics A-12, a highly advanced, highly stealthy aircraft intended to replace the A-6. A new programme, originally designated A-X, was initiated to provide a cheaper A-6 replacement. At the same time, the NATF (Naval Advanced Tactical Fighter) programme, intended to produce an F-14 replacement, had recently been put on hold, and the USAF was starting to think seriously about an F-111 replacement. The three programmes were merged under the title A/F-X. The leading contender was the Lockheed/Boeing AFX-653, essentially a navalised version of the USAF's F-22 Advanced Tactical Fighter (see below). This would have been a two-seat aircraft with Tomcat-like swing wings, but otherwise similar to the F-22. The A/F-X project was cancelled at the end of 1993; the US Navy intends to procure the F/A-18E/F series as partial replacements for its aircraft. Lockheed and Boeing are still working on the AFX-653, and hope to offer a further developed version for a future project (but probably not JAST (see below), for which the AFX-653 would probably be too big). You can find an article on the subject, with plans of the AFX-653, in the 26-Jan-94 issue of _Flight International_. Vital statistics (AFX-653): power plant: two 113 kN Pratt & Whitney PW7000 augmented turbofans; armament: one 20mm cannon, internal bays for various air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, including AGM-86E missiles and GBU-24 guided bombs.

The USS Intrepid, the USS Ling, and the USS New Jersey are all within two hours driving time of each other. The USS Nautilus is 2.5 hours west of NYC, and Battleship Cove (in Fall River Massachusetts), is also well worth a visit. BTW, what part of Spain are you from? My Father was born in Santiago de Compostela.

Yes, I underwent the crash course in scraping, using a needle gun, primering, and painting. Since I was a diesel mechanic by trade, I was soon spared the indignity of working outside in November, and was sent down below. Hey, ever see old 40's and 50's sub movies, where the crew moves from compartment to compartment by grabbing the upper hatch coaming and swinging through? That's only true if you're less than 5'4" and 140 lbs. I have an old 35mm print of me somewhere, squeezing into the aft torp room. If I find it, I'll scan it and upload it.

Actually, it's named after its Portugese spelling/pronunciation..."Balao".

Ha ha...gotcha! Not even close, a Wahoo is a game fish. An icthyologist would call it an "Agujeta Brasilera".....the class name, is again, the Portugese pronunciation of the bait fish's popular name.

EEEEEHHHHHH! Wrong......Another hint, it's the Portugese spelling (and pronunciation) of a popular bait fish here in the 'States, whose last sylable is 'Hoo.

Two, actually. The aformentioned SeaHund, and a Japanese Kaiten. Now, here's a hint as to the class of the "big boat":

LOL, Talos is correct.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q17dl_aUNf4 But, the other missile might have something to do with Alpha Leonis... Speaking of which, FC, didn't you learn celestial navigation? Nicky would shame you in a nanosecond on that one, as would Lexx. "Spanish Cat Class" should be all too easy......

Lets see, Crusader correctly ID'd the PBR (never get outta the boat), and both of the "dogs", the Sea Hund, and the Terrier missile.

  21. Sounds as if both of you have an obsolete FM. Patching/Upgrading is responsible for that, if you had the "old" FM in your mod folder.

  24. LOL....hat's not a stock install. Those are JSF Aggie's runway textures, Brain32's Vietnam terrain, Stary's Green Hell 2 mod, and my own custom environment mod. Otherwise, everything graphics related is set to unlimited, except the horizon distance.
  25. OK.....
