  1. For one thing the Fulcrum C -and the A, G and all other versions too for that matter- are IMHO way too heavy because of an excessive fuel load in SFP1. According to the very comprehensive article by Easy Tatar (www.sci.fi/fta/MiG-29) on the MiG 29, the C variant takes 3595 kgf internal fuel instead of no less than 6103 kgf if you add the contents of the fuel cells in the data.ini in the SPF1 download. More than 2500 kgf ( 5530 lbs) of extra fuel weight does make a difference......... I reduced the internal fuel for all the Fulcrums to about 59% in all cells. I didn't go into the SFC of the engines, but assuming they are correct, it will cut the endurance considerably. The Fulcrum does not have "long legs" in real life though. Aju, Derk
  2. In Scotland they say "go and paint the Firth of Forth Bridge..........." Aju, Derk
  3. Would be great to have this mod, creating a separate RDAF Draken in the FB role would be a great addition. The Danish Drakens were formidable planes with a considerable warload, greatly increased internal fuel and later on with very effective A2G avionics.... Aju, Derk
  4. Thanks a lot FastCargo, works nicely, adds a lot, Aju, Derk
  5. Another thank you, very usefull for the Indian subcontinent !! Aju, Derk
  6. How many G's at 320 kts at 3.000 ft and did you use the combat flaps ? Part of the airshow routine was a 360 turn at 185 kts, 2 to 2.9G sustained, 60 to 70 degr. bank, at max Alpha and normally within the airfield perimeter (something nobody ever imagimed an F104 could do) so at 320 kts it should be able to do a bit better..... Aju, Derk
  7. The tiptanks acted as endplates against spanwise airflow over the wings. The F104 demo of the RNlAF always used wingtip launchrails to get the same effect, Aju, Derk
  8. I very much agree with this. It's no news that the Starfighter in good hands was a formidable plane. I modified the data.ini (wing) a long time ago with the AlphaStall at 16.24, the AlphaMax at 23.04 and the AlphaDepart at 24.99, which makes all the difference. (taken from the F104S) But I like Baffmeisters FM for the F104G even better (File announcements 14-04-07). A nice balanced handling, forcing you to make full use of the "combat manoeuvering flaps" which can be deployed up to 450 kts (!). Above those speeds the F104 would be able to pull up to 7.3G anyway. I don't think the F104A had the combat flaps but changing the Alpha values as stated above (or somewhat less) will also work. Good luck, Derk
  9. Remember the F 100C's of 32 TFS Soesterberg/ Camp New Amsterdam , the Skyblazers Demo Team and low and very fast passes in full AB at airshows, all back in the 50's...... Had a few models of it. Later on every now and then an appearance of a RDAF example at airshows in the 60's, all fond memories of a Cold War childhood that somehow felt safe and secure. Great and impressive plane Aju, Derk
  10. Same here !!! When I installed the road bases, Gepards airfields were gone..... Aju, Derk
  11. F16 (but i do hope -whine whine :blush2: - for a definite MLU/ Block 50-52 pit in "two weeks"), the good old high res F4 pit and the high res F104G.... Aju, Derk
  12. I second that, right now it's either the roadside bases or the 8 airfields. Would be great to have the both. Especially in the former DDR, a couple of airbases (Laage, Preschen) had taxiways connecting them to nearby Autobahnen with runways, though I can imagine that it could be a very complicated job to model a combination like that...... Aju, Derk
  13. The Hunter is very authentic with Sidewinders. At least in Sweden, Switzerland and Singapore they were flown with AIM's The RNlAF (KLu) flew it's MK 6's with the AIM9B from the beginning of the sixties until 1968 when the last Hunters were phased out. The RSAF even used it on MK 4's. In other words don't worry about authenticity........ I fly it standard with early Sidewinders in KLu colours. Aju, Derk
  14. A little gem that shouldn't go unnoticed: the addition of a somewhat underrated aircraft with great possibilities and in this form a very nice pit with up to date avionics. In it's M4 version the Warpac Tornado !!! Thanks Michael , Derk
  15. All right Dave, sorry. But, being a "Child of the Cold War" my answer is the same: F16, F104G & Hunter in their times kept the Russkies out of my back garden....... Further: F16 is the dependable workhorse since '79 , F104 same in the sixties and seventies, much underrated, and the Hunter was part of the backbone of the W. European air defence in the turbulent fifties. One addition: Beaver floatplane....... (fond memories of last summer) Aju, Derk
  16. Your own F16-MLU Dave with almost 2000 dl's in the mean time, (with Blck 50 pit and a few little things changed)), for the earlier period the F104 G with the fine modified FM by Baffmeister and before that Armourdave's Hunter Mk6 with some tweaks, all with our own KLu skins. Covers almost the whole Cold War. Aju, Derk
  17. The goldplated canopy (in order to eliminate the cockpit radar trap) certainly was incorporated in Block 15 cq retrofitted to earlier Blocks . RAM materials were retrofitted (AFAIK) into the engine intake and for the rest I cannot imagine any significant difference between the A and C models, apart from the bigger C intake and tailbase (apart from the extended taibase for the brake chute), that might actually increase the RCS of the C from certain aspects..... In connection with the use of night vision goggles the clear canopies are being "reretrofitted" by the way, but that goes for both models....... Aju, Derk
  18. Any idea why the F16C has only 1/3 the RCS of the 99% identical A modell ???? Aju, Derk
  19. Amazing post, amazing community, going from rather rude one-liners to beautifully balanced comments with everything in it and a lot of class........... Makes one very curious who the real people behind the user names are........ (only met Stratos up to now) A very quiet, non modding Derk
  20. Thanks Soulfreak, wunderbar gemacht !!! Aju, Derk
  21. Thank you for the Aircraft Resource Center link too Julhelm, beautifull site, and good luck with the good old Voodoo, Aju, Derk
