  1. Yeah, I know. And I know that they aren't planned either. I was just simply pointing out what it would take for me to spring for some DLC. I'm in no way saying that's what TK should do. He know's what's best for TW.
  2. Any Macbook users here?

I used a MacBook for the last 3 years before I got my new laptop. I really liked OSX for all my everyday stuff. And dual booting over to Windows XP for games worked fine (at least as well as it would on a PC laptop with the same, crappy, graphics card). But, you are probably paying 150% - 200% more for the same hardware. I would have upgraded to a MacBook Pro in the Spring when I bought my new laptop, but the most powerful MacBook Pro was about $2300. I got an HP Pavillion that's a little more powerful for $1000. Mac's are pricey. There's no denying that.
  3. I agree I'd like to see something a little different. Good for TK for offering the DLC. Hopefully sales are doing well. I just haven't seen anything yet that makes me want to crack my wallet open. Even if it was something that's already available here for free, I still would think about buying it. It just needs to be an aircraft that I want. And chances are that won't happen if it's just minor variations and re-skins of existing aircraft. Flyable Skyraider. Flyable Spit. Return of the flyable A-6A. All things I would shell out a few bucks for. I may buy the "new code" DLC when that comes out. We'll have to see what it is...
  4. I know I'm late to the party, but I've searched high and low for the SIMMOD A-10A for FC2. Does anyone know where I can get it?
  5. SIMMOD A-10A

    Ah. Cool. Thanks!
  6. Just occurred to me last night as I was making the A-1's in my July '11 install flyable... Already a great model and flight model, just needs a pit. No need for new fancy avioinics or anything like that I noticed that the stock weapons include an SUU-11. I don't think it used to be there, and this gunpod was only carried by A-1's, A-37's, T-28's, and Hueys. The loadouts and data.ini's for the stock A-1's are kinda unfinished, but that wouldn't be a ton of work. I would much rather pay for a good Skyraider pit to make a previously stock, AI-only AC into a flyable one, vs paying for new variants of A/C that have been flyable since day 1. Just my two cents. And a whole lotta speculation...
  7. http://www.free-track.net/ That same thing as TrackIR for the cost of a webcam ($20), a hat, some LED's, some basic soldering knowledge, and a little patience. I used it for a couple years before I bought track IR. Works great.
  8. And now I am even more thorougly convinced than before! So... What will it be?
  9. Well, you guys have thoroughly conviced me that hte next Payware AC will not be a Skyraider... Wrench or Stary's pits work just fine, and I prefer my own loadouts anyway. I've just been on this kick lately to try and enjoy the game as "stock" I can bare (not sure why). So adding TK's DLC aircraft sounded like something fun to try instead of making AI A/C flyable with stand in pits. Something interesting I noticed (and maybe it's well documented already) last night: I don't have the DLC MirageIIIC, so I was copying the .ini lines from the SF2I Mirage over to the SF2E one to make the SF2E one flyable. I noticed that the Mirage3C.ini file already had the lines in there to make it flyable. They just pointed to the .cat file that needs to be added from the DLC store (and without that .cat file, the A/C is AI only). I didn't have time, but I thought it might be fun to look through other .ini files for AI only A/C and see if TK has given us hints as to what other A/C may become flyable via DLC...
  10. Is that out of the old Korea mod or the new one that folks like me don't have access to yet?
  11. I certainly have! Stary's too. And the ones in the A&G Exp Pack. Just thought it would be cool to see an official TW version as well...
  12. The file in the downloads section has been updated. If you already downloaded the pack, please re-download, and re-install (or just add FSMOKE.tga to your effects folder).
  13. I voted for terrain. It was a tough choice between that and the Tomcat game. Better terrain (and perhaps a new cloud.tga) is the one thing for me that keeps the game from being "good enough" out of the box. I have a "mostly stock" install that I've been using more often lately, and adding terrain was the first and only thing I really needed to do (which of course led me on a slippery slope of "OK, just this one more mod..."). If it wasn't for that, I would have left the install stock. I would think that if screen shots of the stock game in reviews and on forums, etc... showed better terrain, more people might buy the game who otherwise would not because modding sounds to complicated. That's just my 2 cents. Of course, since the new Tomcat game is supposed to have a new terrain engine, maybe it solves both problems. Not sure how it will merge/update with the older titles, though...
  14. You're welcome!!! Just a heads up - there's one TGA file missing that will prevent the big black flak clouds from showing when the larger caliber guns fire. I'll post it here in a bit...
  15. Right. But what if I do this? [CAS_Attack] StartDefaultDate=1977 DefaultFor=CAS Loadout[01].WeaponType=AIM-9L Loadout[01].Quantity=2 Loadout[01].RackType=LAU-105 Loadout[02].WeaponType=ALQ-131 Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=LAU-32A Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=LAU-32A Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[05].WeaponType=AGM-65B Loadout[05].Quantity=2 Loadout[05].RackType=2_LAU-88A Loadout[06].WeaponType=AGM-65B Loadout[06].Quantity=2 Loadout[06].RackType=2_LAU-88A Loadout[07].WeaponType=Rockeye Loadout[07].Quantity=1 Loadout[08].WeaponType=Rockeye Loadout[08].Quantity=1 Loadout[09].WeaponType=Rockeye Loadout[09].Quantity=1 Loadout[10].WeaponType=Rockeye Loadout[10].Quantity=1 [ARMED_RECON_Attack] StartDefaultDate=1977 DefaultFor=ARMED_RECON Loadout[01].WeaponType=AIM-9L Loadout[01].Quantity=2 Loadout[01].RackType=LAU-105 Loadout[02].WeaponType=ALQ-131 Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=LAU-32A Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=LAU-32A Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[05].WeaponType=AGM-65B Loadout[05].Quantity=1 Loadout[06].WeaponType=AGM-65B Loadout[06].Quantity=1 Loadout[07].WeaponType=MK82 Loadout[07].Quantity=1 Loadout[08].WeaponType=MK82 Loadout[08].Quantity=1 Loadout[09].WeaponType=CBU-24B Loadout[09].Quantity=1 Loadout[10].WeaponType=CBU-24B Loadout[10].Quantity=1 I may give it a try later...
  16. ... [AIM-120_Attack] StartDefaultDate=1992 DefaultFor=CAS,ARMED_RECON Loadout[01].WeaponType=ALQ-131 Loadout[01].Quantity=1 ... I wonder if that means you could specify different loadouts for CAS and ARMED_RECON...? That could be fun.

  20. Before dropping $$$ on YAP, you might want to give this free mod a try. It adds better terrain, target areas, clouds, tons of aircraft, better campaigns, deadlier flak, etc... It REALLY improves the immersivenss over the stock game! http://combatace.com/files/file/10281-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-1/ http://combatace.com/files/file/10282-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-2/ http://combatace.com/files/file/10300-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-3/ http://combatace.com/files/file/10472-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-terrain-update/ http://combatace.com/files/file/10658-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-apr-2011-update/ There are a few parts to download and install, but it should be fairly straight forward. Make sure to read the readme included!!!
  21. I'm working on a AAA standalone pack using the AAA from SF2V A/G Exp Pack and NF4+. Stary - let me know if you're interested in trying it out. If it works OK, I plan on uploading it here at CA.
  22. Lost the will to fly/play

I don't think I've sat down with my TrackIR hat and joystick plugged in and flown in at least a month. And before that it was only a couple of times in the last 6 months. I just don't have time. And when I do, there's other stuff I want to squeeze in. When I do have 15 minutes here or there, I'll download updates/new mods*. So all my sims and installs are up to date and ready to go when the timing is right! *Or even new games - I've spend probably 12-16hrs getting my FSX install set up, but only spent about 1-2 hrs actually flying! I also have RoF installed now that they offered the free demo. Haven't flown it yet though!
  23. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I took that screen shot.
