  1. Retards indeed. Look where that decision left them when they scrapped the old (R09) Ark Royal and decommisioned the RN Phantom squadrons.
  2. I was busy adding my Desert 3 Airfield mod to the four seasons terrain last September before I became sick, but I haven't done anything with it since. I for one can tell you how time consuming and sometimes boring it can be. But usually the results are worth the effort. Keep up the good work Monty.

    Maybe if all the Pubs were Irish? Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I can tell you from experience that Irish pub owners tend to be VERY flexible when it comes to lock-ins However - I most certainly wouldn't recommend employing any Irish people to run banks
  4. Thanks for the reply lads. Yeah, I was thinking of buying IL2 1946, as I heard it's got all the previous versions as well. As regards autorun, I'm assuming like with other XP orientated games the trick is to install it via the desktop explorer and to double click on set-up. After checking out some clips on YouTube I guess this is one sim I'll be placing on my Xmas wishlist

  16. Been doing some experimentation with my Gundata settings and I'm finding it hard to decide which to stick with; flying over AAA with either time fuzed rounds or tracer. Both are pretty deadly to be sure. I've flown through flak clouds and had damage from flak explosion shrapnel - but I also had my left wing blown off earlier by a 100mm KS-19 using tracer rounds. They're also both spectacular to look at and really add to the combat environment, so since I can't use both simultaneously I'd just like to know the preferences of other members ...........
  17. A great idea with the likes of the ZSU-57 but with single barreled guns I think I'll create two versions using different ammunition types, for example there'll be the bog standard KS-60 using time fuzed rounds and a KS-60T version using tracer.

  19. Does anybody know how I can edit or at least alleviate the problem of having my aircraft looking like they just flew over Chernobyl? I've solved the problem of the firing flashes on the surface being too prolonged, but I'm not sure exactly where to look with this problem. BTW, the Flak effects I'm using are from the Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam Air and Ground Expansion Pack
  20. I know it was going the long way round it but after altering the add-on 'FlakEffect' files I was able to get rid of the gunsmoke effect when firing. Also made changes to the 'ParticleSystem' and 'BulletObject' files to keep the add-on flak effect that I wanted to keep. Check them out for yourself; they work exactly the way I want them to: Edited_Files.rar I suppose one way of looking at the way I went round it is that it was a slow but bloody good way of learning to edit effects. That debris firing effect can always be deleted from the FlakEffect file, just like I did with the gunsmoke effect
  21. OK; got just about that problem sorted - the flak airburst settings I want without the over-realistic gun smoke effect. Thanks for you advice and help, Fubar. It took me a few hours and more than a few swear words to get it right eventually. Just one more query though (I can hear the groans from here!); Is there a way I can lessen the intesity and size of the debris when the AAA fires?
  22. Right; things are a little clearer here, except for one thing; How come when I remove the smoke effect from the 'GunFireEffect' there's no flak cloud? As you can see below, there's two separate effects for the GunFireEffect and the 'GunEffect', which is supposed to take care of the flak cloud?
