I've been making edits and modifications trying to use only stock stuff, since using pretty much anything but ini files in the mods folder drops performance drastically I've been able to extract and edit decal inis for stock skins, without extracting the bmp or tga files, but keeping the skin's folder's name so everything matches. What i would like to try is to make another folder for another skin, within the same aircraft, and have it use those bmps from a stock skin, which are compressed under a sort of "address" in the cat files Can anybody give me a clue?

Thanks a lot, that was more or less what i had in mind. Taking Navy models for example, D should have been normal, but then G added SEAM, so you might need another kind of signal between the missile and the avionics, and with H you get transistors, which are better but might need to adapt impedance or something. Looks like they overbuilt the bus from the get go.

Within the game, the weapons each pylon-rail can carry are determined by service/nationality. However i was wondering about what it took to use different models of AIM-9s back in the day, seeing how you could find, say, US Navy style Sidewinders in Israeli Phantoms and Mirages, and considering some of the different variants and improvements overtime in both the aircraft avionics and the missiles themselves, it could warrant different wiring. I've been googling about it but i haven't found any specific answer, and everything i read tells me it could be either way.

Dhimar vs Paran 2021

Yep, Belt and Road initiative. Perhaps add some Fantans. J-10s might be pushing it a bit but why not? -
Dhimar vs Paran 2021

I could totally see a Parani fleet of JF-17s and Su30s. Perhaps some Su-25s, and some older Soviet/Chinese models. For Dhimar, F-15Es, advanced blocks of F-16s. I would throw the European aircraft here rather than on Paran, they seem more anti-west than shady guys who can mess with a more anti-west country. -

Marines over Iceland. Including daddyairplanes's awesome F-4J (74), great for people like me, too dumb to fly Tomcats, but that still want something a bit better than an F-4N. -
Good luck Viggy, hope he gets well

On the plus side, if it fires but gets stuck, you get a fairly decent boost The poor F-84F was a little slow, so the next option was a little bit faster. And prettier -

I feel like a bully. Normally i just keep zooming and diving into MiG17s to strafe them when they are almost stalling like sitting ducks after trying to climb with me, but this is one of the few instances in which i got to use Sidewinders for a couple of no sweat kills, one by mine and another by my wingman's. Edit: mispelling -
Lightweight placeholders
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
My laptop is an i7, with SSD and an Nvidia RTX card, i mentioned the issue before because i read that SF2, Win 10 and Nvidia cards had issues, so i guess it might be, but my knowledge on computers is, to put it mildly, way below the average to diagnose the root of the problem. The thing is, even without mods, terrains and aircraft vanilla it runs around 18 FPS wether i have graphics maxxed or not, but when i add stuff it goes way worse. The placeholders are the way i get around it -

With no ill feelings after Dien Bien Phu, during Operation Rolling Thunder, the French Armée de l'air decided to bomb the crap out of Thanh Hóa bridge -
Thanks a lot everyone, I'm aware of the much better mods available, and have used some of them earlier, these along with several other "mods" i've been uploading lately are just fixes i have on my own install, which doesn't seem to handle mods too well unless they are basically nothing but ini edits, and i uploaded them because it took nothing and someone else might have the same issue.

Lightweight placeholders
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'm not sure about what could be the issue exactly, the only pattern i've been able to see is the FPS drop with the amount of mods i have installed. Loading might be taking longer, but if so it is not by a noticeable amount. It seems the issue is with the graphics card and the game not being able to be as efficient as one might expect, but then again i'm just a caveman with a laptop. -
Lightweight placeholders

Thanks a lot, the issue is not only with mods, but also with vanilla when the sky is way too crowded or weather is heavy, but it seems to have significantly more issues with anything like bmp or lod 3d party files being read from the mod folder. Normally i have all settings at max and it goes smoothly, even with crowded carriers on Iceland original terrain. -
View File Lightweight placeholders: Vautour Proper mods take a severe toll in my laptop, so these are ini edits to provide a cockpit and make stock aircraft flyable using only stock resources. That being said, there are much better mods that are much closer to the real thing, i only provide this in case normal mods cause performance issues in your install It uses the MystereIVA cockpit with Mirage sights, so besides SF2I you need EXP 1. It has certain issues, among other things, it is basically a single engine, two cannon cockpit with a two engine, four cannon aircraft, so you only get gauges for one engine, and i don't even want to look at the ammo counter. Any other issues or suggestions, don't hesitate to send me a message Submitter macelena Submitted 01/05/2021 Category Jet Cockpits

That being said, there are much better mods that are much closer to the real thing, i only provide this in case normal mods cause performance issues in your install You will need SF2 (the basic, desert one) since this uses both A-4B and F-100D elements (the manual says SF2V doesn't include A-4Bs, and the compressed files seem to agree, i can't tell since i'm on the complete edition) It should just drop in the mods folder and ask you to overwrite a couple of things, if you have any issue with the fix just tell me.
