Buddy didn't hug Thud Ridge, SAM did hug buddy At this point, I should probably have B-52s escort ME! Sorry, just trying not to get pinged by Kurnass -
I got a first jab of AZ the day before they said they would stop using them. It was funny to find hear the news with the fever and so on. My gramps and sister got Pfizer, fortunately. Mom was concerned about Astra Zeneca, but i talked her into it. The risks seemed worthy, comparing to what Covid would make her.

A couple of "We wanted those but it wasn't meant to be" Portuguese F-5E Tiger II. If i got the story right, they were meant to replace F-86s, and the Portuguese Air Force even had T-38s to begin training, but A-7s were adquired instead for maritime strike, since NATO wise the Spanish Air Force and USAF were meant to provide air defense for the whole peninsula with the Portuguese being responsible for naval interdiction. Spanish F-4E. Our Air Force wanted these, but we ended up with surplus F-4Cs in real life because we are cheap. A much shorter story there. -
IAF in 1973 Yom Kippur without US aircraft?...

Something i hadn't thought about before was...why western aircraft? By then the Sino-Soviet split was in full swing, how about some J-6s armed with Shafrirs? They would have had as bad a time as any other against SAMs, and range was reportedly an issue, but they were not bad at all if they needed something to replace Mysteres -

That's not exactly right. All the MiGs in Vietnam, of course, could out-turn Phantoms, but that was the point of energy management. While it became formal in Vietnam, US fighters had always needed to fight with their advantages, that's how they could beat Zeros with Wildcats, however, the Phantom was deliberatedly made this way. And they performed well, there were tons of factors that made it so it didn't perform even better, in that situation, i can't think of any other fighter that would have managed to. -

Not sure i understand. The F-4 could get updated ECM gear, while i doubt a Mirage could have been updated that way. Indeed, IIRC, the IDF used their Mirage and Neshers for air superiority, but that doesn't mean Phantoms wouldn't normally beat MiG-21s. On the other hand, Mirages can't carry as much explodey stuff for Air to Ground -

I don't know if it could have been doable, but perhaps some sort of Mirage IVJ, or Jaguar J? Without the Phantoms, they would need something beefy to carry a lot of bombs and ECM gear. A Mirage 5 with the fuel tank/bomb rack convo could have helped, though. Edit: It would have been a very, very long shot, but imagine Viggens. Edit2: Also, G91s -
Airfield in water?

Oh,sorry, i read the title and came to tell you they are called aircraft carriers. My bad. -
I have intercepts against pretty much everything on Germany, but if they are turning it takes them running out of speed and throwing the whole rack at them. Flew CAPs in Vietnam with the F-102, but it has the same bug as Bombers, the game CTDs when i tell them to go for a target or engage in general.
-
I just did, they do have Seeker Growl. for the MMHE1s On the other hand, i think the issues i was having with the rockets were actually not missing, but hits not causing damage, or enough damage. I tried an Escort mission (just so I skipped the interception part) and shot at friendly bombers, i got the "Check fire" call but it made nothing on the bombers, no holes, no fires, no damage until i put several rockets in. I just tried and changed the Gun Effect entry to "SmallMissileEffects" and it started working, with enough accuracy for aiming with the gunsight (or the radar, i guess) but the speed of rockets, and blasting Su-7s with a single hit.

Last minute save, strafed the radar right after launch The irony of using guns to strafe a target in order to save rockets, and scrape away a couple of full, brand new pods for going too low. -

Sabre Leader "Noice kill" Sabre Wingman "Oi mate, you sure that's what the Yanks meant when they asked us to act as Aggressors?" Sabre Leader "Wot? This is aggressive" Meanwhile, in Thailand: Phantom Leader "Keep looking out boys, these Aussies are sneaky, we are getting some good training against them MiG-17s" Phantom No4 "So that's why they paint snakes on their tails?" Phantom Leader "You shut up" -

Part 2 Went out to bomb Vinh's runway. I wasn't sure two S-199 could carry enough payload to do the job, so i got 8. When i dropped my bomb, and waited to see if the rest of the flight could get some more hits, i managed to hit another MiG-17 and shoot an aileron off. However, he flew away, and started getting chased by two Crusaders and a Phantom that wanted to steal my kill. So here we have an F-8 crawling up on him, while another just breaks off after wasting all his ammo, since he is a dogfighter and can't hit anything if it isn't turning. Then there is a Phantom who almost shot his sidewinder into the first Crusader. Meanwhile, the Spanish pilot thinks about how his life led him to this moment "I could be flying an F-104 back home"
