Hello, I’m selling my home cockpit seat, monitor stand and accessories. The original price I paid for the seat, monitor stand and action platform combined is £535. I’ll be selling the lot halfprice, £265 or near offer (It’s collection only from London NW3). If interested please write me to luca.za AT gmail.com It’s a great flightSim gaming chair, I bought it from gameracer.co.uk and it’s a great looking and sturdy seat, metal construction, comfortable chair and easy to disassemble to store away if needed. I bought the monitor stand and an additional action platform too. I've prepared a webpage with better description and images here http://simultools.com/for-sale Please note, the images below depict my home cockpit and include items not on sale: the warthog hotas, computer, pedals, screen, trackir, saitek panels, thrustmaster mfds, keyboard, mouse, usb hub etc. are not included! Thanks for looking L

SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion Pack v2.0 - VPAF Add-on
luckyluca replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thanks for this fantastic mod, I started the '66 campaign with the mig21D and was surprised to see no cannon.. is this normal or did I break something when installing the mod? I'm on SF2V alone updated to may2011 with the SF2VA&GWEP2 updated to apr 2011 (and have installed vpaf on top). I thought well let's try this anyway and I ended up fighting a horde of angry F4 and F-105 without cannon and two faulty A-A missiles :-) mig21 without cannons if this is the norm I really don't envy the poor vpaf mig21 pilots :( -

latest on merged installs
luckyluca posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hello, I've been away from SF2 for a little less than a year and kind of lost track of the pro/cons of merged installs with mods. I was planning to merge SF2,SF2V,SF2E into a single install and add NF4+ and SF2VG mods too and can't remember if it is possible/advisable to merge the mods in the users documnets path so that they were both available with a single .exe launch Thanks a lot Luca -

luckyluca replied to luckyluca's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I agree with you guys, separate mod folders and merged main folders... however we end up with lots of redundant files this way and my poor laptop harddisk is complaining :-) I think I'll try a frankenstein uber mod folder at some point in the future -
SF2E: How dark should night be?
luckyluca replied to HockeyCoach's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
probably somewhere in between dave :) L p.s. I've dropped a suggestion in the thirdwire forums to add a cockpit lights key but it seems TK doesn't feel the need for it.. I just thought it would be a small step forward torwards realism ;-) -
SF2E: How dark should night be?
luckyluca replied to HockeyCoach's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I feel night lighting is way too bright too (I'm on SF2x merged). Did you find any interesting mod / settings to use? I had a quick look at the SFP1 download section unsuccessfully :( Thanks Luca -

downloads freeze with subscription
luckyluca posted a topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
Hello, I signed up for a month of subscription in order to support the site and download a few sf2 packages, however most of the big downloads freeze at around 5-20%. I'm trying both firefox and iexplorer with no luck. For example the file Desrt3_optimized_tiles.7z hangs at 20% Desert3_V1.2.rar at 5% Any idea why this might be happening? THanks Luca -

thanks for taking a look, it works now (it hadn't for almost two days) I wonder if this has to do with poor over-the-weekend virgin cable support.. anyway thanks again Luca -

luckyluca replied to luckyluca's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
merged gigantig installation sounds interesting, do you have all of your mods under a single mod folder called by a single exe right? I just purchased SF2:I so I'll be busy with it for a while, however I wanted to install natofighters4+ too and the vietnam gold expansion and I would rather have a single exe with a single mod folder, much easier for me.. Thanks L -

Thanks for looking into this! interesting that it only happens with a few files.. A small problem with NF4+
luckyluca replied to greendog's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Ok, I'm back to SF2 after a few weeks, I've searched about NF4+ and dec patch but can't find out clearly, so what's the story, is NF4+ happy with the dec patch of not? I would be happy with some of the new dec fixes as long as it doesn't break NF4..... Thanks Luca -

inacceptable size
luckyluca replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I noticed the same, huge disk sizes, so I started opening the flight and terrain image files of both the vietnam ground expansion pack and nf4+ in photoshop and realized how unefficiently big some of them are. Imagine there are huge textures for a single window for far away buildings, not acceptable, no wonders the sim runs slowly compared to lets say x-plane of fsx. In this I have to admit nf4+ is much tidier and, apart from wideskys all the other textures could be left alone on highend systems. So I just setup a photoshop batch task to resize down all opened files to 50% with a sharpened filter and loaded all textures I thought were too big and bam the sim doesn't look any different but I gained framerates and diskspace :) framekillers are the sky cloud textures and trees most of the time. I hope it helps Luca
