SF2 Series DACT Reports And Related A2A Discussions (Game only)
Brain32 replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It had most fuel internally(although not that much more than the Eagle) but it also had by far much more powerfull engines. So I don't see why Tomcat at 60% fuel vs fully fueled F-15C would be a fair comparison when difference is about 15% while in the same time Tomcat has about 10% more thrust from engines. As for the pancake I don't know how much it helps the Tomcat but I do know F-15 landed without a wing...I'd say that's A LOT. As for eating F-16, I can see that happening only if for some reason Viper guy decides to enter AoA pulling competition...which goes back in man vs. man category... I don't have engine charts, just manuals...but then again, we are starting to spam this topic lol -

By pancake I believe you are referring to the lifting body design but F-14 is not the only one featuring it As for AoA I think you are referring to the point were the plane is stable or something as I've even seen Tomcat doing almost a Cobra maneuver in testing trials but then again F-18/16/15 are FBW restricted and all this has to be at low speed(actually Hornet is used for high-alpha testing by NASA so it seems navy really likes high alpha machines). I'm interested how stuff looks sustained especially since AFAIK Tomcat, unlike F-15 and 16 is not a full 9g plane... Trust to weights I have are all with full fuel (no plane is rigged for perfection) considering the F-14 is in the low 0,9 and the F-15 around 1,1 I don't see Tomcat being at any kind of advantage here unless GE-400 at some altitude pushes A LOT better than PW-220. Oh and I'm not mixing it with the first A's with TF30 as those Tomcats were just barely better dogfighters than Phantoms... -

Guys you do realize that Tomcat had by far the highest wingloading(higher than F-104) and the poorest thrust to weight in the teen series? I mean I love the big ol' Cat too, but let's be realistic a man can out-pilot another man but nobody out-pilots physics ;) -

Don't worry financial predators and speculators like to secure their pray Anyway I don't like drones, just expensive flying porn servers, what has remote outside input can ultimately be hacked...

dual core or quad core!

Just a note I wasn't speaking about Intel vs AMD because Intel is clearly more powerful but about relations between gfx card and CPU and impact on performance made by that relation, this test does not show that or atleast not clearly. First they used two extremely different gfx cards and second the new 680 GTX is top of the line so it's quite possible that even the newest AMD stuff can't feed it as good as INTEL's hardware... This however is rarely a concern for an average user(atleast here because we are poor as f and taxes are insane) so when somebody is building a "can" for gaming with limited budget I'd always recommend a better gfx card and a slightly lesser CPU(ofcourse trying to balance as much as possible) than for powerful CPU and poor gfx card because in that situation CPU will not have much to do...and performance will not reach budget potential. -

Brain32 replied to irati's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
In my experience with ANY game so far, more powerful CPU will only noticeably help in that it can "feed" your graphics card with DATA faster, if you are already at the peak and your CPU is pulling maximum out of your gfx card, you will get little to nothing in terms of performance. I yet have to see any kind of noticeable scaling with same gfx card and more CPU models when all of them push the card to the max, most of the time difference was 1-2fps... -
Two questions, Alaska and cockpit shadows
Brain32 replied to Stary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Well technically it is finished that's why I uploaded it ages ago, it's just that I wanted to do some more stuff but I had problems with TE and that terrain so I gave up and packed just the overhaul of the original. This is what I was talking about: http://combatace.com/files/file/7935-dbs-hi-res-replacement-tileset/ -

Thx buddy, going to change the controls now, I totally dig the storyline stuff and everything too just had issues with controls...
-
Oh that's still ok, I was actually pushing my car with the handbrake on...was thinking about how weak I was that day
-
OK so I got the opportunity to try it and... It's actually kind of cool, cut scenes and all, makes it a somewhat new experience for flight - GAMES I don't even mind the super-arcade 150 missile load, dogfight mode and other scripted stuff like that, it has it's own way of being fun. BUT! The controls are beyond F'ed up, seriously this should not had passed the beta testing like that! Stick is completely unusable you can put it away and go with the keyboard which can do the job much better although still takes some time getting used to. Now don't get me wrong I didn't expect flight dynamics to show any kind of fidelity just having the basic 4 commands work - ailerons, elevator, rudder and throttle, unfortunately that is not the case, you can't execute the 360 roll at all, also every time you bank as soon as you let it go, plane automatically levels out - WTF????!??? Rudder is completely absent, elevator jerky and barely usable - that's all with the stick, works better with the keyboard once you beat out the fact that you played a bit more serious flight games out of your system because flying here is not what you are used for that term to mean. Flight assist was off all the time, don't know what happens if you turn it on, just shoot probably. Anyway, like the game, the idea, the concept, absolutely f'in hate the way controls work and nearly complete absence of at the very least vaguely believable flight dynamics...

I need help!
Brain32 replied to markolicina's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hmm Fulcrums should work regardless as other add-on's on that list are a bit heavier on texture load, still 2GB RAM should be error-free if ran on stock terrains... If it continues to fail at 70%, try removing those add-ons and run one by one, Fulcrums first, then try the Vipers and Hornets... -
(Not)realistic speed
Brain32 replied to Stipe's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Moraš biti na pravoj visini, recimo mig-29 će na razini mora ići jedva nešto malo preko 1 mach ali na 10 000m će potegnuti do 2,25 bez problema. *** Guys I just explained him relations between speed and altitude in short... -
