Don't ask what a German colour scheme is doing on an F-4E. And why I loaded the Pave Spike instead of an ECM (accident).

We could ask FC, since he is working on some F-5Fs and probably the T-38 a while back. Yup, here it is: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...t=0&start=0 -

No one knows...really. Anyone up to create a nose mod for these guys? -

And we aren't looking for anything else to replace them with at this moment (although the Flankers would probably fill their role in the future, who knows). Don't know how effective it is compared with the others, but for local conditions and regional surveillance they should be fine enough. Funny that we became the launch customer for these guys. -

Stormtrooper: Nice one. Captured the feel of those painted art. Did not realize I was using the WRONG decal.inis plus tail numbers...(hence the weird tail number position). -
What aircraft you miss in game?
kct replied to vrkuboy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The filename of the main aircraft.ini must be the same as the folder's. Example, for the F-4E_IDF (TMF's, as usual), the folder is called F-4E_IDF, while the main aircraft.ini is called F-4E_IDF.ini, so this is how it goes. Which means the name of the aircraft's folder must correspond with the main aircraft.ini for the aircraft to show up. Try to make sure the names correspond with each other. -

Wrench, (Note, still a WIP of sorts...and I can't use your aircraft_data.ini because the Kurnass sunk itself into the ground. And only part of the refueling probe was removed, some still remained.) -

It all started in 2007 when a Sea King crashed for the nth time in the many years it was in service with the RMAF, and now...after a competition between the Eurocopter EC 725, AgustaWestland EH101, Sikorsky S-92 and Mil MI-171, the winner is... What do you guys think? Also, the kicker: The requirements mentioned that the helicopter must have a rear loading ramp...something the Cougar doesn't have (and it is the only one among the candidates not to have a rear loading ramp).
-
True, checked the specs, it turns out that the EC 725 was slightly larger than the NH90 (and carry more personnel). And after the delays with the A400M, I don't think the government is taking any chances at a helicopter that would arrive much, much later than projected (the guys in the Sea Kings spoke of fear flying these ancient helis due to their safety record, they were scared). Also, despite the fact that a lot of people favoured the Merlin, the thing is that most SAR operations we carry out around here are performed on mountainous areas, plus the fact that they are probably looking at something which can do just enough for the locals.

Performance - ingame frame rates
kct replied to Liberty24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
For now I place everything on High. This is without the bloom mod (which did a good job in killing framerates a while back). Anyhow, I would love to see what a PC with a spec similar to Brain32's (except that it is a 3650 or something, the PC belonged to my friend, lucky bummer on getting the Black Edition) would do to the game. -

What are your graphics settings? On Unlimited the game would become a slideshow. -
Hmmm, information from Wiki turned up the EC 725 Cougar, but whatever that works with us. However, one of the most important considerations in the deal is that Eurocopter maintains a large regional facility around here (and they mentioned that they lobbied to the government to take the EC 725), so...too bad the NH90 wasn't one of the candidates.

Performance - ingame frame rates
kct replied to Liberty24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I would say pretty much the same thing about the laptop I use to game on (it is about 2 1/4 years old, and bits of it are falling apart). Brain32's WoE tilesets + trees + related stuff, Widesky with Polak's SKYmod backgrounds, with AA 2x or 4x (although the screenshots I've posted in the screenshots thread is done with 4x, PLUS graphics set to Unlimited at 1280x800), not to mention a slow processor (1.66GHz Core Duo), and a rather bad graphics card (X1400). The game does lag, but it is real bad when Flankers are thrown at me (this is a very usual occurance, at least on my side). Something is telling me by the end of next year I need to start looking at alternatives... Brain32: Tried the Omega drivers for ATIs? (although I've heard they are not updated for a while) Installed one of the newer versions at one time, and the FPS rate in CoD4 went up with immediate effect. Then again because the previous drivers I used were Dell's (yup, it is a Dell laptop with nothing to shout about). -

Also, BunyapPak install its own set of aircraft_data.inis, so be sure to take it out to avoid screwing up your stock F-15A. -

Know Your Aircraft...
kct replied to Lt. James Cater's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
And this was the other kicker. The SH can carry more AMRAAMs than the MiG-35 can dream of carrying R-77s. And the SH can carry a pair of additional Sidewinders. -
As of right now....

Ion cannons from space. That would be scary. -

And the MiG-35 is still more or less a medium fighter, something around the lines of the Super Hornet and the rest. It might stood a chance going against the SH/Typhoon/Rafale and co (and that depends on which Block etc.), but not against the heavyweights (like the F-15 or F-22).
