  2. It's kind of a "cheat," but you can get the AI to land helos on a small deck (and not roll off when the ship turns or accelerates) by adding a fake arresting hook and wires.
  3. File Name: C-130H JASDF File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 08 December 2012 File Category: C-130 This is a mod of Dels's C-130H for the Japanese Air Self Defense Force's 401st Tactical Airlift Squadron, based in Komaki AB, Nagoya. Authentic squadron markings and serial numbers for each aircraft are included. 6. F-15DJ skin pack

    Version 1.0

    106 downloads

This is a package of high-resolution (4096x4096) textures for the F-15DJ in its current JASDF livery, representing the 23rd Squadron and 202nd Squadron. Authentic squadron markings and serial decals for each of the currently operational F-15DJ aircraft are included. As the texture is designed exclusively for the F-15DJ_97 from the F-15 Super Pack, you need to download and install that pack first if you haven't already. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to save CombatAce's bandwidth and your hard drive space, the main texture files have been placed in the aircraft folder instead of each skin folder, since every squadron has identical skins aside from decals and markings. This will not overwrite or override any existing skins. Any textures placed in individual skin folders will take precedence over what's in the main folder, so other texture sets should still work fine. 7. I'd like to know this as well. I could potentially help finish them, but I really don't like working on other peoples' models (especially huge complex aircraft carriers) unless they're properly unwrapped-- I just don't have the time or patience.
  8. We have some Soviet ships ready for them. Aside from the stock Kiev, the Sovremenny is built to allow helicopter ops, as is the Kirov (which I really need to finish overhauling some day...). But, we don't have any naval helicopters yet, so I'm very glad someone else is doing the Kamovs. I just don't have the time, patience, or expertise to build them right now. I'm rooting for you, Snailman!
  9. Issue with ASM's

Just looking at the data you're using, I see a lot of potential problems: Air-launched Harpoons have no rocket booster, for example, and the drag coefficient is too low. The missiles will be going way too fast and will crash into the ocean before they can level off after the initial dive. Also, the seeker stats are off, and even if the missile can manage to level off and sea skim, it may just not be able to see the target. I've just uploaded an updated version of my cruise missile pack. Download and overwrite and it should fix any problems you're experiencing. Speaking of cruise missiles, I'm currently missing an AGM-84H/K SLAM-ER. I could've sworn that I once saw a screenshot of someone's Super Hornet with this model (folded wings and all). Is this available somewhere, or was I just dreaming?
  10. File Name: Cruise missile update pack for SF2:NA File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 06 June 2012 File Category: Weapon Packs This package includes 97 third-party weapons which I have updated to SF2:NA standards, adjusting for real-world specifications where possible. These include every single cruise missile that I have in my collection, plus a few exotic variants of them (i.e. Soviet anti-radiation versions) which I've tweaked for consistency. Some of the weapons are by me, but the vast majority were from the SF2 Ordnance Shop pack. Kudos and credits to the original modellers. If you made one of these items and would like individual credit, do not hesitate to contact me. And if you have more cruise missiles or updated models for existing ones, please let me know right away. Note: These weapons now use the new cruise missile data type from SF2:NA, so they will NOT work with earlier versions of the game. Click here to download this file
  11. I have once again updated this package. There are some cosmetic improvements to some weapons (like a translucent seeker on the ASM-2), data tweaks on others, and 11 new missiles, bringing the total to 97.
  12. File Name: Jiangwei class frigates File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 13 October 2011 File Category: Frigates These three models represent the Type 053H2 Jianghu-III class, Type 053H2G Jiangwei-I class, and Type 053H3 Jiangwei-II class frigates, in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy. The Jiangwei series frigates were developed from the earlier Jianghu series, with the Jianghu-III being a transitional design, and are considered to be China's first true multi-role frigates. All necessary sounds, guns, and weapons are included in this package. Hull number decals and helicopter support are not featured, as these ships are meant to be used as OPFOR units, but they can be released on request. Note: This model has been updated for full compatibility with SF2:NA. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! Click here to download this file
  13. Don't worry, I had similar problems when I started making models. I will continue to work on the Suffren, so please send any additional parts you make.
  14. Samurai's Shipyard

The Jiangwei frigate updates have been uploaded. I've been mostly focusing on foreign forces recently, but there is one more modern USN ship I plan to do.
  15. Jiangwei class frigates

I've just updated this package. The two Jiangwei class ships have been rebuilt and re-textured for greater detail. A new ship, the Jianghu-III, has been included as a bonus. (Technically it should be part of the Jianghu pack instead, but whatever.)
  16. Glad to help. This ship may take more time to finish than I anticipated. It might look mostly the same right now, but so far I've: -Fixed scaling issues -Fixed a plethora of spikes and double-sided faces that would have caused huge issues with textures and shadows. (Was this based on a sketchup model?) -Optimized the hull and unwrapped it for texturing -Rebuilt the superstructure as a single seamless piece for easier texturing If anyone else would like to work on some missing parts (like the illumination radars) it would save us some time.
  17. Would you like some assistance finishing that Suffren?

  19. Samurai's Shipyard

Sorry, work at the shipyard has been a little slow. I took a break from the big projects and ground vehicles pack to overhaul the last few ships I hadn't gotten around to, the Jiangwei frigates. I corrected some realism mistakes, optimized the models, and completely redid the mapping and skins. I also finished the Jianghu-III, so now we'll have nearly every Chinese surface combatant from the 60's to mid 90's. Parts from these will also be used in other PLAN ships I'm working on. These will be uploaded either before or after this weekend.
  20. Samurai's Shipyard

Nice AOE, colmack! I'd like to see some replenishment ships other than the generic fleet oiler in the game. I'm starting to put together some PLA vehicles. I started with a Type 69 tank (work in progress), which I can then mod into a bunch of other Chinese tanks derived from that design. There will be some air defense units too. I got to re-use the 37mm guns from my PLAN ships here. And I did a little bit more work on my other big project.
  21. AH-64D Japan Ground Self Defense Force

    Version 1.0

    868 downloads

This model represents the lisence-built AH-64D as used by the Japan Ground Self Defense Force. Paint job and decals are representative of the 3rd Attack Helicopter Squadron. I have packaged and uploaded this by request from a friend who did all the skin and decal work. Original Apache model by Dels, which you will also need for the weapons. See the readme for more details.
  22. File Name: DDG-173 Kongo class Aegis destroyer File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 12 August 2011 File Category: Destroyers This model represents the Kongo class destroyers (DDG-173~DDG-176), in service with the JMSDF from 1993 to present. They are based on the Arleigh Burke class, with a significantly longer hull, higher superstructure, and indigenous Japanese systems. The Kongo and successor Atago (coming soon to SF2) are the most advanced and powerful warships in Asia and among the largest destroyers in the world. This model has been almost completely rebuilt and retextured compared to my previous version (3.7), and like the real thing she can now lead JMSDF task groups comprised of the Takanami, Murasame, Asagiri, and Hatsuyuki. As with my other vessels, I have included authentic name and hull number decals for each ship of the class, plus the necessary sounds, guns, and weapons. See the readme file for full details. An experimental data file is included, labelled "DDG-173_EX.ini" (The "EX" stands for "experimental" as well as "extremely dangerous.") This sacrifices the cool-looking vertical launch for a significantly more accurate multi-target system that better reflects the actual performance of an Aegis destroyer. Use whichever you prefer, depending on if realistic visuals or realistic performance is more important to you. An optional assisted takeoff mode for helicopters is also included on the flight deck. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! Click here to download this file
  23. File Name: Takanami class destroyer File Submitter: WhiteBoySamurai File Submitted: 09 May 2014 File Category: Destroyers This model represents the Takanami class destroyers (DD-110~DD-114), in service with the JMSDF from 2003 to present. The Takanami is an improved version of Japan's modern workhorse, the Murasame class, with a larger main gun and more flexible vertical launch system. Two variants are included, the original as-built vessel, and a recent refit with ESSM replacing Sea Sparrows. The Takanami class features well-rounded armament including a 127mm gun, two Phalanx CIWS, two 4-canister SSM launchers, ASW torpedoes, and a 32-cell Mk41 for VL-ASROC missiles and SAMs. A full names list and authentic decals are included. The model features a helicopter deck and a few other surprises. This ship is best used in conjunction with my Kongo class, Murasame class, Asagiri class, Hatsuyuki class, and other upcoming JMSDF capital ships. Click here to download this file
