A civil mod for TK's sims
Gepard posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Z-37Cmelak as Firefighter plane in Vogesen mountains It are only the first steps. -
Ehm. No. First point. In 1870 there was no Germany. There were a lot of independent german speaking kingdoms. Saxony, Bavaria, Pruzzia, Würtemberg and some other minor states. The french policy was it to stop all attempts to form a unified Germany. France wanted to be the ruler of the continent and if feared the possible power of the unification of all german kingdoms. So it supported all separatisic activists and movements to hold the germans seperated and small. This was the french policy since Louis XIV. Remember till this time french armies fought their wars on foreign territories. It was quiet normal for them to march into the Netherlands, Belgium or the german kingdoms to fight there. And the french imperator Napoleon III wanted to follow this doctrin. Bismarcks fake of the "Emser Depesche" was the answer to a harsh french demand, which could be understood as deadline (ultimatum). The prussian King originally answered in a handsome manor, but Bismarck redesigned the text in a harsh answer and Napoleon III declared the war because he felt offended. And with his declaration of war against Pruzzia he accidently activated the defence treaty of the german kingdoms, which now were forced to stand together against the french foe. In the following month the french armies were defeated, imperator Napoleon II became POW and the german Kaiserreich was founded. Please dont mix Bismarck with Bismark. Bismark is a little town near Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt, Bismarck is the name of a family.

It seems to be that i'm to stupid to upload some pictures here or the system does not like me at the moment. Thatswhy here a link to a photo collection https://www.flickr.com/photos/7armyjmtc/sets/72157656777555528 Interestingly the plane crash caused only a minor woodfire and this under the conditions of very warm and dry weather. The woods are very dry at the moment, but the fire was only minor. Perhaps there was not much fuel in the plane and perhaps it crashed because it run out of fuel? Only a guess. An other point which might be interesstingly is the use of ABC protection suites by the german fire fighters. It was caused because the F-16 use Hydrazin and this is strong toxic.

ISRAEL 2 Terrain version 2.0 23.Dezember 2006 ===================== Israel Terrain INSTALLATION instruction: 1.) unzip all files into your Strike Fighters folder 2.) If you use WOV open WOV folder and copy file Israel2.ini into Israel2 folder 3.) If you use WOE open WOE folder and copy file Israel2.ini into Israel2 folder For WOE and WOE you must download a desert terrain tileset seperatly! *************************************************** The first versions of Israel terrain for SFP1 were very successfull. They were downloaded in high numbers from C6, Combatace, Avsim and other sources, but i was never really satisfied with it. The reason was, that the size of Israel terrain was only 60% of reality. With the new terrain editor tool TK offered to the community i was able to make a terrain that is nearly correct scaled. But i had to rebuild the terrain completly from the scratch. As promised i release the new terrain now short before Christmas. What is new? *Completly new terrain with enlarged size. It covers now also Cyprus and Lebanon *additional terraintiles (Canal, Mountainwoood) *airfields with multiple runways *new designed SAM fence along the Suez Canal the SAM Complex west of the Bitter Lake (Osiris) i designed using a report about the big air to SAM battle in 1970 between the Israelis and the Egytians. So Osiris should be more or less historical correct. The positions of the other networkes (Ra, Isis, Sala Uhudin) are more or less fiction. I also reduced the number of SAM sites, as requested by some players. *number of target areas is now 292 (212 in the preview, 128 in Israel v1.5) * I include a smoothed terrain height data file in folder Israel2/Smooth. Personaly i prefer the more rough standard terrain, but if you like a smooth terrain copy file Israel2.hfd from folder Israel2/Smooth into Israel2 folder * I included also updated Panzer files. The T-34,T-54,T-55,T-62 have now coaxial machineguns and their performance is now a little bit more real. *The SAM Fence along the Suez Canal now consits only between 1970 - 1976. In 1977 the Egyptians changed their AD startegy from area defence to point defence. I want to say thank you to all guys who supported Israel2 terrain with ideas, hints, files and good wishes. Thanks to Polak for the Pontons and the Pyramids, Gecko6 for the Coolingtowers, thanks to the guy who made the factory complex some years ago (I forgot his name) and of course TK for the terrain editor and the great SFP1 flight sim. And finaly a big thank you to all unnamed and forgotten object and file makers. *************************************** If you find bugs, please post it at www.combatace.com forum of Strike Fighters section of www.SIMHQ.com forum ******************************************* This terrain is FREEWARE and is NOT intended for commercial use. I hope you enjoy it. Michael (Gepard) -

No. Its not my job. In this forum it is yours. And it seems to be, that you accept behavior like these: In my eyes statements like these are a personal affront. Perhaps its time for me to leave this forum. -

First, spell my name correct. Second, the signature under the first post shows, that you has edited it 4 days after my first reply. And you has changed it completly. You has removed all screenshots and descriptions of your terrain and included the readme of my Midway terrain from 2009. Third. Using big letters in a forum means shouting. -

Dave, if he would use the search function first, before start a new project, then he would find, that something is already available. If he find, the existing terrain could be better, and he wants to make a new one, then it is okay. But only if he dont use the same name as the already existing terrain. Its confusing to have files with the same designation. If he would call it "Midway made by STWA" or "Battle of Britain 1960 of STWA" then it would be okay. But not with the same names. And it is also not okay, if he delete his first post here and write something complete different instead. This is fudge. My 2 cts. -

Very nice heli. Well done modell. Excellent. The only miss is, that you had forgotten to include the sound file for the engine. -
Clausewitz definitions: "War is an act of violence with whom we try to force the enemy to accept our will." The aim of war is the victory. "We achieve the victory if the enemy is accepting our will or he has nothing left to resist our will." Written in the book "Vom Kriege" in 1830. Following this definitions we must ask. Does the enemy (Talibans) accept our will? The answer is no. Does the Taliban have resources to fight and resist our will? The answer is yes. The conclusion: Whatever will tell us our politicians, we dont have won. We lost. Why? Back to von Clausewitz: "To achieve the victory it is neccessary to to fight with all means and methods while stretching all powers. If not you will lose." Or with other words "do the thing right or let it be". Does the west used all means and methods? Does he used all of his mighty power? No. And why not? Because our politicans believe the definition of war is an other word of Clausewitz: "War is the continuation of politics by other means." What means, that they believe they can make war like politics. No real idea, no real intention, no real target. They try to muddle up, try to bumble. Send out much to less troops, sent out much to less power and have no idea what should come after the first easy days. And so the western states (and i include the USSR here) does not really won all the wars after 1945. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya. Hollywood tells us, we were victorious. But look at the map. Everywhere only wasted lifes of soldiers, who died for nothing.

The FE debriefing screen:
-

Good news, Wrench. An Africa Corps vs Desert Rats map with new models of planes, based on FE would be awesome. I ask myself, wheter i should make a First Eagles version of my old BoB terrain? Could become a nice thing too. By the way, has someone tested my files with FE2? Does it run under FE2?

Does it work on your computer?

Midway Terrain v 1.0 by Gepard
Gepard replied to Stwa's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
It seems to be, that you like it to remake already existing terrains. http://combatace.com/files/file/7115-midway-terrain-version-10/ -
Here it comes: First Eagles WW2.zip I took all files i have modified in First Eagles and put in in this little package. (I hope that i have found all so far.) The only thing you must do is to extract this files in a First Eagles installation. I suggest, that you make a special install for WW2 amd call the new gamefolder "First Eagles WW2". After unzip my files in you FE WW2 installation you must still copy the speechfiles from WoX in the speech folder of FE WW2. The nations.ini which i use is a modified WoE file. I know, that it cause some anomalies in debriefing screen. This has still to be solved. Perhaps i must take an original FE nations ini and modify it. There is something to do. Be aware, this mod is for First Eagles first generation. I have no FE2, thatswhy i cant tell you, wheter it will run with FE2. First Eagles WW2.zip

For me is FE the better basic game for a WW2 sim, because we have a much better terrain solution from stock. A tile is 500x500 meters wide, while SF works with 2000x2000 meters. So a much more different looking world can be created. I have seen Geezers work and i think it looks awesome. But he use the way completly in the different direction. He moves from FE to SF. For me FE is the better prop plane sim. Its only a feeling. Lets see.

WOE crashing when exiting campaign missions on win 8.1
Gepard replied to dubyas1989ef's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The first generation SFP1, WoE, WoV, WoI are written for Windows XP. For more modern systems you should better use SF2 series. -

http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_tools.htm Here you find the official weapon editor of TK. There are some. Try them out. I use the version 02.20.08 and it works fine.
