Ich stelle mal zwei Bilder ein. Beide zeigen die MiG-17PF in Gatow. Das eine ist von 2010, das andere hat ein Typ mit dem Nick "Wolzow" vor ein paar Tagen im Flugzeugforum gepostet und dieses Bild ist nur wenige Tage alt. Ich glaube der Unterschied ist deutlich. Aus einer vergammelten Rostlaube haben die Jungs aus Gatow einen hübschen Vogel gezaubert.

Yep, so it was said in the 80th. 20 years later the cover was lifted and the truth came out, that US submarines had playing hide and seek with the swedish Navy. And the smörebod Navy was always thinking, that they were hunting the russian bear. The best thing what happend was, when the US Navy was able to manipulate the nav system of a soviet submarine of the Whiskey class and it stranded on the swedish coast. Whiskey on the rocks. That was great!

The pilot with the open visor is wearing an old MiG-21 style helmet and a non soviet oxygen mask. While the pilot with the red star is wearing the original soviet MiG-29 helmet and oxygen mask. The german MiG-29 pilots used only for a short time the soviet helmet and changed later to the NATO style helmet. Interesstingly the most pilots said, that the soviet helmet was the better one.

Its a display team! Tornado and Jaguar are not well known for agility. They should stay with the Hawks. Cost efficient solution.

But since decades it is awarded to people who pissed some unloved other peoples leg. For instance Walesa. He had done nothing for peace, but pissed the commies leg. Select the target by pressing the E Button and then press the fire button. Thats it. But make sure that your plane has a laser designator. Either pod or inbuilt system. -

Soviet MiG-15 pilots of Korean War told, that they often pulled their MiG's with more than 5g and the americans were easily following them. So a 5g limit is not believeable. -

If i remember correctly a stock terrain has the size of 1000x1000km. To skin the terrain you must merge the tilesets of Desert, GermanyCE, IsraelME and VietnamSEA. Its an immensive job. But more terrible will be the tiling. You will not be able to use the autotile function of FE for the entire terrain. Autotile is working by the height level of the terrain. You say to the TE: "all terrain from 0m - 100m get tiles of kind A, from 101 - 500 get tiles kind B, from 501 - 3000 tiles of kind C and 3001- 9000 tiles of kind D" The problem is, that the tiles of kind A in Europe looks different from the tiles of the same height level needed in SEA or desert areas. So you are forced to place all not fitting tiles by hand. And this will be surely some 10.000 or 100.000. -

It the german command would had followed the Schlieffenplan by all means the history could have been a different. But they made a version of this plan, a "Schlieffen light" with much to few troops on the right flank, so that an encircling of Paris was impossible from beginning. The main idea of Schlieffenplan was the encircling of the french capital and finaly the encirling of the advancing french troops in south Germany. Schlieffens idea to scrifice Bavaria if neccessary was not loved by the south german Kings and so the plan was changed after Schlieffens dead in that kind, that the defensive flank in the Vogesen mountains was made stronger. This was successfull. The french were unable to reach the Rhine valley. The german forces were able to stop them on the last hills, like Hartmannsweilerkopf. But the troops which now fought in the Vogesen were missed on the offensive right flank. More bad was, that troops were removed from the offensive flank of the Westfront to stop the unexpected early russian offensive operation against Ostpreussen (East Prussia). But finaly this troops came to late to take part to fight the russian invasion in the battle of Tannenberg and in the west they were also not available. Bad missmanagement caused by panic in HQ. This was deciding of the war.

I dont think that it will be taken into the US Army. The reason is the agreement between USAF and Army, that all air vehicles which can reach a certain speed have to be operate by the USAF and not by the Army. The Cheyenne design was more or less similar and was finaly sacrificed, because the resistance of the USAF lobby was to hard.

Do you enjoy long, long, long, boring missions? As bigger the terrain as thinner the target areas are placed. Between them a lot of empty space. Then the problem of terrain warp. This makes the relations of the distances very uncorrect. While areas near the equator are relativly correct the areas near the pol becomes a massive warp. The world is a sphere, but in TE it is a flat thing. -

If you live in a country with 200 million or with 50 million inhabitants i will agree with you. But there are a lot of countries which are much smaller. Take the baltic states for instance. For such small countries a heavy loss of young women would have tremendous effects for the development of the population.

I think a lot of guys all around the world are asking themself, why the hell the Germans dont fight side by side with Americans and French against ISIL or other terror groups. In the eyes of the world Germany is a economical superpower with a good military. The abilities of german soldiers are said to be excellent. Germany is seen as a giant with a very big stick in the hand. But to be honest. The truth is different. Completly different. Today Germany is a dwarf with a exrem litte stick, but with a growing ego of a giant. But it is military impotent. The readiness status is a catastrophy. Luftwaffe: Germany has 31 Tiger helicopters. Of them are 10 operational. Of 33 NH-90 helicopters 8 are operational. 109 Eurofighter are in the Luftwaffe, but only 42 can be used. We have 89 Tornados, but only 38 are ready. Of 56 Transall, transport planes 24 are operational. 13 Patriot Batteries, 7 are combat ready. The Bundesmarine, German Navy, has 21 Sea King. 3 are operational. 22 Sea Lynx 3 are partly operationally 1 is full op. 83 CH-53 are available, but only 16 are ready. 4 submarines of Type 212, 1 is ready. Corvette K130, 5 units, but only 2 operational. Fregattes 11, but only 7 operational. Heer, the german Army, IFV Marder 406 available, 280 combat ready. At my military time in East Germany we had to had an all time, round the clock combat readyness level of 80%. This was much to high, but the figures of Germanys readyness level today are ridiculous. If someone is still asking why Germany is not part of a fighting campaign, the answer is simple. Germany cant take part. There is nothing left. Even our support to the kurdish Peshmerga fighters is rather a scrap metal disposal, then a give away of potent military equipment.

That the syrian air defence is worth the money we have seen last year, when they had blown a turkish F-4E from sky. And this Phantom had had a very modern jammer system on board. So the Raptor is the best choice for operations over Syria. More cheaper it would be to make a telephone call to Assad. -

In SF2 the terrain is black if you dont has the correct tiles for the terrain. In WoX it is white. -

A woman can do nearly all things which a man can do, some things they can do better. Perhaps not pee while standing ;-) But there is only one good reason not to bring women into combat units. Its a biological reason. Young women are biologically to valuable, because they are biologically inefficient. What does it mean? A comparision. How many children will you get if you couple one man and 100 women in one year? If all went good a little bit over 100. But how many children you will get if you couple one women with 100 men? 1 perhaps 2. Thatswhy a people can endure the loss of a lot of young men, but not the loss of a lot of young women without to risk the own future. Its a simple question of reproduction. I know this sounds technically, but this is the only reason to deny women to serve in combat units. We need them to save the future.

MiG-21DF *********** ---------------------------------------------------------- I. This mod is written for SF2 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ II. History: The combat experiences in Vietnam showed, that the RP-21 radar of the MiG-21PF generation was not really satisfying. Very often the pilots detected the target with their eyes earlier than with the radar. The new RP-22 for the next MiG-21 generation was on paper 30% better, but in reality a target in the size of a MiG-21 could be only detected at a range of 7km. So some frontline pilots believed, that the RP-22 radar was only worthless additionally weight and demanded to replace it by the simple radar rangefinder Kvant. So the plane should become lighter and more agile. Further it should get a stronger engine. The MiG-OKB decided to try to use an uprated version of the R-13 which was originaly developed for the Su-15M. This engine was the R-13F2-300 with the same dry thrust like the old R-13-300, but an increased afterburner thrust of 70.2 kN. In 1969 one (other sources say 2) MiG-21SM were taken from the production line and were refitted to the DF standard. Flighttest were held in 1970 and spring 1971 with satisfying results. But it was decided to cancel this project in favor of the more advanced MiG-21bis. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ III.
