Avionic help Chengdu J-7III
Gepard replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
There are some minor differences in the shape between MiG-21MF and J-7III. The most obviesly is the other parachutehousing of the J-7III. The other is that the J-7 has a lot of opening panels which the MiG-21MF does not have. To make a J-7III, i think, it would be neccessary to make a new skin with the different opening panels instead to use a MiG-21MF skin. -

Gepard replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
The outer wing pylons were only used for fuel tanks, never for bombs or unguided rocket pods in german service. And one other remark, each single plane had an unique camo scheme. There were never two planes which looked like the other. -

J-15s landing on new Chinese Aircraft Carrier
Gepard replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
First they will have to train the sailors and the aircrews. It will cost years to learn how to operate a carrier and its escort groups. They will have to learn the tactics, they will have to learn how to supply a carrier group. Its a lot to do. And i think China will need 5 years or more before their carrier will become a danger for other nations. And now the american submarines will have a new challenging target. -

try an other paint program. I use Paint Shop Pro and i have no problems. The size of the bmp file in 1024x768 pixel resolution must be 2.305 KB. If not, something is wrong. -
ECM Pods
Gepard replied to F117NightHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
ECM pods you must switch on and off again and again to avoid HOJ. And when you switch off the pod, then release chaff. -

Yak-38M Forger-C ***************** This mod is made for SF2NA. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. The Yak-38M was the modernized version of the Yak-38. It got stronger engines and an improved weapon system. It was able to deliver missiles of the KH-25 missile family. First flight was in 1982. It entered the service in 1985. To make it possible to start from the carriers of the Kiev class i had to modify the Kiev's too. I moved the starting position and added a lot of arrestor wires, so that the Yak's can land on deck. It is not perfect. Vertical take off is at the moment impossible, because the FM cant handle lift engines very well. Only the AI plane on start possition 3 makes a vertical take off, but i dont know why. It is not intended to do so. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ II. planes stuck together at take off in palistine map
Gepard replied to gambit168's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
There is something wrong with the airfield.ini file. Or it is missing. So all planes take off from the same place. -

Soviet Constant X/Have X aircraft?
Gepard replied to thodouras95's topic in Military and General Aviation
The two pictures i found in the depth of my HD. Cant remember from were i got it. But the one with the stored Mirage and the Phantom i have seen in a book long time ago (before the change in 1989). But dont ask me which book it was. In the other forum the guys said, that the picture was taken in Shukovski, not in Monino. And one other said, that it could be, that the two planes are only wooden mockups. Maybe that it was posted to give the west something to worry. Dont know. Maybe, that the planes were rebuilt from shot down wrecks. That western technic was in eastern hand i have eyewitness. During my military time i had an "enemy weapon training" were i had the chance to shoot with M-16, G-3 and FAMAS. I have seen M-60 and Leopard 1 tanks which were used for shooting tests to find weak spots. Defection of pilots from east germany to west (Danmark) happend 1 time (a Yak-18) and from west to east germany also 1 times (a small prop plane somewhere in the 70th i think). -
Soviet Constant X/Have X aircraft?
Gepard replied to thodouras95's topic in Military and General Aviation
It was an old black and white picture of a big plane (Tu-144? i have forgotten unfortunatly) and on the outer left side were two completly weatherproof coverd planes with the shapes of the Mirage and the Phantom. I know, that i have this picture somewhere. If i only could remember which was the big plane!!!! EDIT: Cant find the picture at the moment, but i have asked for it in an other forum. Perhaps i will get it from there. Edit 2 Sometimes the result comes fast. Not the best quality, i know, but better than nothing. -
