-
Was tested by Mythbusters and they found no lethal effect of bullits which came down from sky after firen 90° into the air.
-
A bullet that comes down from sky has no power to harm someone.

Building Iran-Israel terrain
Gepard replied to morteza1374's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
This would be the size of the terrain. But if you see on the map, you will realize, that you would had to build more than Israel and Iran. There is entire Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the Gulf States. Its a giant job, its very time consuming. And you wont get the wished density of targets. -
USNF was my startpoint of modding. It was a great game for modding. IAF was not my cup of tea. No chance to mod this game, so it was boring after a while.

You need a lot of phantasy to see true relations between Firefox and PAK-FA.

True. Derk, perhaps you know the german journalist Peter Scholl-Latour. His books are worth a read. He descriped the turmoil in Syria as a part of a shiitish vs sunnitish war for the leadership in the islamic world. Iran is shiitish, Saudi is sunnitish. Who shall rule? The most of islam is sunnitish, but the Iran attempts to increase the shiitish ruled area, so that there is an axis from Iran, over the shiitic parts of Iraq, over the alavitish ruled Syria to the shiits in Lebanon (Hisbollah). The Iraq was ruled by sunnits (Saddam Hussein), so that the axis was broken. But since the shiits rule in Iraq the axis is formed. Now the Saudis attempt to break out Syria from this axis. Syria is alavitish ruled, but has a majority of sunnits. If the sunnits come to power the iranian shiitish axis is broken again. No problem with that. But Saudi Arabia has the most backward Islam with no rights for women and other religions, while Syria has a moderate Islam with women rights and protection for other religions. I fear, that after a defeat of Assad the christians of Syria (around 10% of people) will have a very hard time and a lot of them will be killed or forced out of the land (As it has done in Iraq in the last years). If the west supports the anti Assad forces, he supports a kind of Islam, we dont want and we fight a kind of Islam who is no danger for us.
-
Its astonishing how many people still believe that we see in Syria a fight for freedom and democracy. Saudi Arabia supports the Anti Assad forces with weapons and money. And the most people forget, that Al-Qaida was made by saudis. 9/11 was made by saudi citicens. Saudi Arabia has the most backward kind of Islam. and and and.

If i see TK's way to lock files which are necessary for modding in SF2, so i would not like to see a new patch for FE2 if he would go the same way.

Airfield capacity?
Gepard replied to Capitaine Vengeur's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
If i remember right (and i may be wrong) the airfields at this time were simple grass stripes. So it would be easier for a Kursk scenario to create more simple grass runways for the terrain, than to press enourmous numbers of planes on one large stock airfield. At this time mass take off procedures were widely used. Take the modified airfield inis from my Baltic entrance terrain to get a lot of planes into the air in a very short time. -
The Baltic Bay terrain was made by stock FE tiles. The islands are ready but the rest is not finished. Here two screenshots russian coastal fort: german Battleship Fleet
-
Do you want to fly over endless woods or empty plains? 50km from one village to an other? If yes, then is the russian civil war the scenario of your choice. This map i have started long ago, but never finished. Its the bay of Riga in the Baltic Sea. The islands were the place of the german sea löanding operaton "Albion" in 1917 (or was it 1918?)

Airfield capacity?
Gepard replied to Capitaine Vengeur's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
With the line NumSquadrons= you can define how many squadron can placed maximal on an airfield during a campaign. You can choose it freely. If you want that this airfield will never have planes then you must set it to 0 (for instance for big civil airports with no military action) If you want more squadrons then use the number you want. But i'm not sure wheter there is a maximum number of squadrons which the game engine can handle at one airfield at the same time. -
F-51
Gepard replied to Delta6Actual's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you mean the Operation Kadesh addon for WOI, then i can say, that you can use all SF2 planes in it. (As far as i have tested it.) -

I think the russian missile was intended for the Su-34 fighterbombers. But never became operational.

Using R-3S(K-13)"AA-2 Atoll" missile
Gepard replied to regula50's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Range of the missile depends on altitude and speed of the plane. At high altitudes the range is much much longer than close to the air. -
The North Koreans had had Yak-9, IL-10 and La-11 and some old japanese birds. No Yak-3, no Yak-7 and no Cobras. The Cobras which the soviets had in WW2 were Lend Lease planes. What means, that they had to sent back to the USA after the war or had to be destroyed.

LOL The video was great. :good: :good: :good: :good:
