Su-22M4 Fitter-K "Susi" *************************************************** Credits *************************************************** This is a mod of Armourdaves Su-17 Fitter C. Dave, thanks for the permission to use your files. My little share was to introduce the HUD and some modifications of the Data.ini. I implemented the guided weapons, added armour, reduced the fuel consumtion and modified the european style camo skin to a fictive east german Susi skin. *************************************************** Su-22M4 *************************************************** The M4 was the last and most advanced version of the swing wing Fitter family. It was an unique combination of the very robust Fitter design and high developed computer technology. It was known for it high survival capabilities. While in use in the LSK/LV (East German Air Force) the very robust Ljulka engine "eats" some birds and in one occasion a complete pitote tube without to suffer damage. While life firing tests in the USSR the tanks of the "Susi" were rippled by 12.7 mm and 23 mm bullets with the only result, that the technicians found the bullets "swimming" in the fuel. It was also said, that during Lebanon war 1982 not one single Su-22 was destroyed by israeli ground fire. While the first Su-22 were simple dumb iron droppers the M4 had a wide range of high sophisticated guided Air to Ground missiles. This missiles were guided by Laser, TV and gave this bird a limited stand off capability. The high accurate missiles proved lethal pin point hit capability during Afghanistan campaign. Anti radar missiles were also part of the "Susi" armament. ********************************************** INSTALLATION ********************************************** 1. unzip into your aircraft folder subfolders will be automatically created 2. Copy the files of Pilot folder to your aircraft folder Thats it! Enjoy flying. 3. Nope its typical capitalism. Perhaps you can find an old book of ol Marx. Its well desciped there. Feudalism is a kind of society with typical marks like ruling a land by the aristocracy. No land in Europe is ruled by aristocray (maybe Monaco). All lands with a king or queen are constitutional monarchies. What means that all people of a land have to follow the rules of the constitution (inclusively the King or Queen). The true power in this contries lies in the parliaments and not in the hands of the kings or queens. Today the royal families are politicaly unimportant. They are important as attraction for tourists and as such a "good" investment for the touristindustry. On the other hand a king or queen can be (not must be or is, depends on the person) a very important factor for the morale of a people. A leader of high morale and integrity can act as moralic mainstay, which in hard times and in disasters is very helpfull. The kings and queens of europe are outside of politics, so they can play the role i descripe. Some act fine in this role (danmark, norway, sweden as excamples). Perhaps you remember the attempt of coup d'etat in Spain a lot of years ago. The spanish democracy was young and the military tried to take the power. The spanish King had spoken to the spanish people and supported the democracy and so the coup d'etat failed in hours. He had had no political power. But he was a moralic instance. And this was important. I'm not a friend of kings and queens. But if some peoples in Europe are happy with their kings ... Why not. -

The time of feudalism is over. Each single country in Europe which still has a King, a Queen or a Duke is also a Democracy. The british, dutch, danish, swedish, belgian, norwegian, spanish (which i have forgotten?) people have their parliaments which they have to elect, like the french, germans, czech, polish, italians or or or. Where is the difference? I cant really see one. The so called monarchies have their crowned person as highest (but powerless) "leader", here in Germany we have an Bundespräsident, who has also nearly nothing to say. Its the same, but without a crown. -

Auf der flickr Seite der BW war der Tiger mit dem 12,7mm MG Behälter über AFG zu sehen. PARS muß man ja nicht in Mali nehmen. Dafür gibts doch die olle HOT. Mit dem Teil knackst Du sowieso keinen modernen Panzer mehr. Also könnte man sie ja dort heiß entsorgen. Die Splittersprengwirkung dürfte ausreichen, auch wenn sie durch die gerichtete Ladung zur Bekämpfung von Flächenzielen nicht wirklich optimal ist.

6 plane formations

During Korea War the soviet air crews sometimes used a formation what was called "fluid six". It was an improvement of the well known "four finger formation" which was also called "fluid four", but not with 2 pairs, but with 3 pairs of fighters. I have tried to make such a formation and the formation itself works very well. But i face a problem, that in single mission screen the game engine sometimes selects 18 planes instead 12. and then the game get CTD. I dont understand why i get sometimes 18. If i have understood the syntax of the formation.ini correctly then i should only get 12 planes as maximum of a formation. (2 squadrons x 3 Flights x 2 elements = 2 x 3 x 2 = 12) Does someone has an idea what my mistake is? Die Chop Suey Panzer sind eingetroffen. Ich habe erst den NC31 ausprobiert. Das ist ein aufgebohrter FT-17. Schneller und mit besserer Kanone. Macht Spaß. Ob er den Leichttraktor als Lieblings Tier 1er ersetzen kann wage ich zu bezweifeln. Aber entgegen meiner ursprünglichen Absicht werde ich das kleine biest mal für eine Weile behalten.

Nicht übel der Beitrag. Wäre echt was für Kabaret. Dieter Hildebrand und Co. Aber mal ernsthaft. Mali wäre eine gute Gelegenheit den Tiger UHT im Kampf zu testen. Da würde man sehr schnell sehen was er taugt. Zumindest als Pfadfinder für echte Kampfhubschrauber würde er einen guten Job machen. Dafür hat er ja eine brauchbare Nachtkampfausrüstung, die anderen Modellen fehlt.

If you have 12,7mm and 14,5mm ammo in your hand, you will see, that the 14,5 is significantly bigger. Here a picture taken from Waffeninfo.net homepage: Left the 14,5mm and right the 12,7mm.

Mangusta has the same problem like the Tiger. It has no good protection system. It is said to be safe against 12,7mm ammo. All larger calibers can easily penetrate the protection system of the Mangusta. TOW, HOT, Hellfire and other anti tank guided missiles are a waste of money in Mali or Somalia. Its to expensive to shoot a sniper with a 100.000 Euro missile. The same job you can to with some 20mm bullits for 1 Euro each.

To be honest, the anti ballistic protection system of the Eurocopter EC 655 Tiger is not really impressive. The cockpit glas is not bullet proof. The engines are not armoured. Only the sides of the cockpit has a certain protection. The gunfire that killed the Gazelle could have killed the Tiger HAP too. Further: The gun of the french Tiger HAP is restricted to +/- 5° because the structure of the heli nose is to weak and after some weaks in Afghanistan it were found cracks, cause by the gun recoil. The reliablility of the Tiger is weak. (See the problems with Aussi Tiger ARH). There are some improvements under the way, like additionally armour plates under the cockpit windows, to improve the balistical protection for the pilots. But a more massive heli armour is not possible, because the improved engines of the E series is not yet available. An american AH-64D Block III or a russian Mi-35M would do a much better job in Mali, because this helis are combat proofen and have a very good battle damage resistance. The Tiger HAP only has "paper" armour. Sorry to say that. Its such a waste of tax payers money.

Originally, in the soviet time, the Su-27K was developed as counterpart to the F-14. It was a pure air to air fighter. The MiG-29K was intended as counterpart to the F-18 as multi role combat plane and the Su-25K was the intended striker, comparable in role with the A-7. In the last days of the soviet union and the early times of russia in the 90th the Sukhoi design team and their factory complex had had much more influence to the political leaders than the Mikoyan team. So the Su-27 family (Su-27, Su-30, Su-33, Su-34) became the only "new to buy" plane for the russian forces in the 90th. The military very soon realised, that the Su-27 was to big and to expensive to operate, but Yelzin and his encourtage had only an ear for Sukhoi. Things have changed with Putin, who has a more realistic view on the needs of the russian forces, and the russian finance possibilities.

In the timeframe which are subject of WoX there was no technical warning for IR missiles possible. Even today, only the launch of a missile can be detected, but not the missile itself. The only warning you get is the warning shout of the wingman. If you hear the warning shout, then release flare and change the course. -

This i found in the readme of the Falkland all inclusive Mod. "single mission year is 1983 - because the only British base was build in May - if you have a missiondate before 29th May - the game CTD - self created missions (with mission date) will work normaly - you have to take off from a carrier before 29th May" may it solve your problem? -
Wäre immer noch schneller als wenn man so ein Teil im Original von bauarbeitern hochziehen würde. Vor allem wenn Planer aus Berlin an dem Bau beteiligt wären.

If Mission Accomblished messenge is coming when you are still on take off, then is something wrong. If you get it in a strike mission, then is no strike target available, if you get it during a air to air mission then there is no air opponent. Which Harriers do you use? TK's stock one from WOE or from an other source? -

Not only the desert terrain. WOV has not all types of missions if you want to fly for the red side. What exactly are your problems? -
Unterschätze den M4 nicht. Wenn der Kerl weiß, wo der KV-1 zu treffen ist, dann kann es ganz schnell dumm ausgehen. Die lange 76mm Kanone der Sherman hat eine gute Feuergeschwindigkeit und wenn man auf den steilen Teil der Bugpanzerung des KV schießt kommt man ganz gut durch. Und wenn der M4 nah genug heran kommt spielt er das beliebte Hasch mich Spielchen, fährt um dich herum und bepflastert dich, während du im KV-1 den Turm nicht schnell genug drehen kannst.
