US ground formations nerfed? Formation.ini
Gepard replied to SFP1Ace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
There is a maximum of possible groundobjects (tanks etc) for groundcombats. If i remember right it are 30 or so. More vehicles the game cant handle in one unit. -
Weapon editor cant edit weapons
Gepard replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Make sure that you has the WE for first gen sims and not the SF2 WE. -
F-86H (HOG)
Gepard replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Lexx, there were not enough Sabres at this time, so Le May used the Thunderjet. Not because he loved this bird, or wanted to test it, but because he had not had a better choice. When the Sabre came to Korea it came in to small numbers. The F-86 was needed for continental defence and for the forces in Europe much more than in Korea. -

The big carrier battles in WW2 were mostly sea to sea battles. No need for land based planes. -

Red Storm Rising? Wasnt it this talesbook where the USAF used the F-19 stealthfighters to hunt soviet AWACS? Was a really good joke this book. Remembered me on the good old days of old "Harpoon" game i played on my Amiga Computer long long ago. I would bet, that Clancy wrote his book after he played a lot of "Harpoon". The carrier vs bomber battles are pure "Harpoon" strategy. If TK would finally gave us working and sinkable carriers and carrier escorts which are going with the carrier i would be very satisfied. A real carrier group vs carrier group scanario would be great, lets say british Invincible with Harriers vs Kiev with Yak-38. With this i would need no land mass. -
Its a nice and capable bird. Not so expensive to operate than the other planes of its generation. A good choice. To be honest, i would like to see the Gripen in the Bundesluftwaffe of Germany too. Fits much better to our contry than the overestimated and not fully operational Eurofighter.

Will we hope that the british island will not sink if the british girl become more and more volume.

Em, if i have checked it correctly, not all of the Bone team members have signed the Freeware Licensing. What means someone must ask them first or make a mod of the bone without their files.

LevelBombAI
Gepard replied to bearcat83's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
ReleaseAlt. Its the altitute were the AI is dropping the bomb. As lower as more accurate. For big bombers its more realistic if they bomb from 6000 to 10000 meters. Its carpet bombing. -
Hey, they have stolen the idea of this poster! This was the original:

During my military time i have never seen a MiG take off without afterburner. Of course it was possible but not usual.

Endless Recon Flights
Gepard replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Nice to hear, that it works. Now try to set the invasion ships to Warehouse in types.ini Perhaps then the camapign will select the wished targets. -
Endless Recon Flights
Gepard replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I think it is something small what cause this effect. Try this AirOffensive[001].Primary=LARGE_RUNWAY,MEDIUM_RUNWAY,WAREHOUSE AirOffensive[001].Secondary=CHEMICAL_WEAPONS_PLANT And RunCampaignBeforePlayerStart=FALSE By the way, does it only happen with the swedish or with the russian side too? -
Endless Recon Flights
Gepard replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Em, It is not ususal to set Primary and secondary Air Offensive the same target types. In a first step i would change the secondary Air Offensive to medium_runway or something. Then test what happens. Perhaps something is wrong with your target types which are using Chemical_Weapon_plant plant. Check the ActiveYear= in types.ini Maybe, that the ships are not available in 1966. -
A-4Ks rotting away in NZ news from few years back
Gepard replied to MAKO69's topic in Military and General Aviation
For what New Zealand needs a fighter plane? What would be the task for this bird? To defend the contry for an invasion? Who should try to invade it? And to defend a land with only one squadron ... You are joking! For Air Policing? Yes, thats a good reason, but for this job you dont need a Mach 2 fighter bird. Take a british Hawk or a czech L-159 ALCA. They are better suited than the F-16 for this task, not so expensive etc pp. If you need an expensive toy for a few young men and women then NZ could also buy the F-22, the Eurofighter or the Rafale, or you could build a battleship fleet. The last would have the advantage that a more guys can play with it. The one would be so senseless then the other. An Air Force must fit the threat which it has to face. And to be honest, there is no threat for NZ. -

Endless Recon Flights
Gepard replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
If you has to many recon missions, you must change the settings of missionchance for the single air units in the campaign_data.ini for instance [AirUnit001] AircraftType=F-105D Squadron=7TFS ForceID=1 Nation=USAF . . . MissionChance[sWEEP]=25 MissionChance[CAP]=25 MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=25 MissionChance[ESCORT]=25 MissionChance=80 MissionChance[CAS]=25 MissionChance[sEAD]=25 MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=25 MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0 MissionChance[RECON]=0 You see Recon = 0 what means, this unit will not fly recon missions during campaign -
Yak-38 Forger
Gepard replied to mono27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yeah, a scenario Yak-38 on Kiev vs Sea Harrier on Invincible, that would be great! -

Mig-29SMT
Gepard replied to dast24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If i remember right there was a MiG-29 pack for first gen. Have forgotten who made it. There the SMT was included. It was the old MiG-29 (not MirageFactory) with a humpback added by fake pilot methode. EDIT: Found this old bird. Its made by Lindr -
SF2 Aircraft doesn't show up SF1 list
Gepard replied to spriggs's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
You can covert some fan made SF2 planes into first generation very easily. Simply open all ini files, check wheter they are saved in UNICODE formate and if so save them into ANSI Code formate. Thats it. BUT all stock SF2 planes and some fan made SF2 planes use LOD files which most first generation sims cant read, Thatswhy you get the picture spriggs has posted. BUT first generation "WOI Operation Kadesh" can use ALL SF2 planes. Spriggs, if you want to fly the new F-20 in first generation, you must go to ThirdWire page and buy the Operation Kadesh addon for WOI. -
This is correct and wrong at the same time. It depends on the version of the MiG-17. There were MiG-17 with hydraulic boosters for better agility at fast speeds and high altitude.
