Air Offensive Question
Gepard replied to F117NightHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Line 1 - 3 answer is yes. line 4 and 5 i havent seen before in a WOX campaign, so i think it will not work. -
Her books are books for children, but not only for children. Personally i like them. Of course there are better books then the Harry Potter stories. But with her Potter books J.K.Rowling opened the door to the "world of reading" for millions of children all around the world, which had never read a book before. And for this door opening i believe she should get the Nobel price of literature.

Immune targets
Gepard replied to Capitaine Vengeur's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
You can set nations as neutral. So their airfileds are not used in the campaign by the game engine. For the soviet used airfields in china you could create a seperate nation. This would also be usefull because the soviet planes used North Korean markings. i suggest you make a nation 64.IAK = enemy for the soviet units and airfields which operated in korean war. And soviet and china = neutral. -
It was a tragedy. The soviets lost 20 million people (some folks say it were 26 millions), the germans lost 6 millions in a senseless war. Never again.

Ehrlich gesagt, keine Ahnung. Hab die CAT ebenfalls noch nicht angefaßt.

FORMOSA STRAIT TERRAIN ===================== I. Formosa Strait terrain is made for "Wings Over Europe" WOE. With certain limitations you can use it in WOV, WOI and SFP1 too. (See PS on bottom of this file.) ============================================== II. Formosa Strait Terrain covers the island of Taiwan, a part of the coastline of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and the Strait between which has different names like Formosa Strait, Taiwan Strait or Taiwanhaixia. All names i use are taken from an old german atlas and it seems to be that there are a lot of different transcriptions of chinese names in german or english language. Formosa Strait Terrain is a nearly 100% terrain, what means, that the distances are not cut down to 60% as in the GermanyCE standard terrain.Certain differences are caused by warp while converting GOTOPO30 satellite height data into WOE format. The position of the runways should be more or less correct, their direction is not always as in reality. The airfields themself are made by using variations of WOE standard airfileds and by using the 9 airfileds i made for Deutschland terrain. Formosa Terrian has 233 target areas this are 14 waypointdefinitions for panzer battles 2 missile bases (PRC) 6 coast defence missile batteries(PRC) 15 Bridges (PRC) 10 Bridges (Taiwan) 19 SAM sites (PRC) 14 SAM sites (Taiwan) 7 airfields (PRC) 15 airfields (Taiwan) 41 industrial targets in towns (PRC) 44 industrial targets in towns (Taiwan) 1 powerplant complex with 3 industrial areas (PRC) 1 power plant complex(Taiwan) 2 ports (PRC) 9 ports (Taiwan) 4 EWR (PRC) 5 EWR (Taiwan) 3 PRC Warship groups 4 taiwanese Warship groups 3 Carrier Battle stations etc To use Formosa Strait Terrain you should have installed a WeaponPack and western SAM. You can fins HAWK SAM and WeaponPack at www.combatace.com ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ III. INSTALLATION 1.)unzip all files into your Wings over Europe/Terrain folder 2.)unzip Groundobject.zip into your Objects folder. (this file install modified versions of the SumnerFram2 destroyer and the Cargoship. It also install a Silkwork Anti Ship missiles launcher and chinese Panzers of the Types 59, 63, 69 and 80) Thats it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ IV. I want to say thank you to Darreck for the Coolingtowers and Enrico Gennari for the files which i used to create the ports, which were originaly made for individual airbases which are available for SFP1 Deutschland terrain and WOE. ******************************************* V. Formosa Strait Terrain IS FREEWARE. COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED. If you find bugs please post them in StrikeFighters section of Combatace.com forum. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ VI. Hope you enjoy it. Michael (Gepard) ============================================ VII. Made in Germany Mai 2008 ============================================ VIII. PS Q: How i can get Formosa Strait Terrain running in WOV, WOI or SFP1 A: 1. Open file Formosa.ini 2. Look for line CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat 3. Replace this line with: for WOV: CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.cat for WOI: CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat for SFP1: CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.cat 4. Download a WOE capable terrain replacement tileset via Internet. Such tilesets you can find at www.combatace.com Limitations are caused by the fact, that certain objects which are standard in WOE (power plants, bridges) are not always included in WOV, WOI or SFP1. -
Es gibt ja jetzt das Juni Patch. Damit sollen die Tank Probleme beseitigt worden sein.

need an oil rig platform for Persian Gulf terrain
Gepard replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I made this screenshot to give you a better chance to compare the size of the oil rig. I placed a stock warehouse1 object beside the oilrig. You can see, that it has approximatly the same square size. Warehouse has around 50X50 meters. I think it is a more or less real size of a normal oil rig. -
A Vietnam Install for WoE?
Gepard replied to Jack Morris's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Years ago i made DRV terrain, which covered North Vietnam and a little bit of the south. The neccessary planes you find in the download section, and i i remember right there was also a Rolling Thunder Campaign for DRV terrain. BUT, this all was made years ago. The question is, wheter it will run with the last patch of WOE. -
Air only Campaign

Lucky BUFFs?
Gepard replied to SandyC's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Try anti SAM pilot stuff. Not curving alone makes you survive, you must curve at the right distance to the missile. Try vertical moves, hold speed high and make sudden sharp climbs if a missiles comes direct top your nose. Etc. pp. And not forget chaffs, lot of chaffs. -
Ehm, now it becomes a little bit to special for my english abilities and my dictionary failed to help to interpret your question. But i will try to answer. (I hope that i have understood your question correctly.) This picture i have taken from the site you mentioned above. The upper folder is the GDR made. In the GDR the Kashis were made by the system Wieger. Wieger 910 was the AK-47 series, Wieger 920 was the AK-74 and Wieger 940 was the Assault rifle in NATO caliber. In each Wieger family you had a version with a butt, a version with a folder, a version as light MG and a short version. Interessting are the first two, because the weapon was so designed, that you could exchange a butt with a folder and vice versa. Butt and folder had the same "holding system" (is this the correct english term?) to connect it with the body of the weapon.

need an oil rig platform for Persian Gulf terrain
Gepard replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I think the size is okay. At the moment i have a problem with a time lag when the oil rig is destroyed. The game freeze in for around 1 second after destruction of the oil rig.. -
Norway will retreat its 4 F-16 from the airstrikes against Libya by the end of July. Danmark is low on bombs. UK is crying how expensive the war against Libya is. And US defence minister is angry about the unable european NATO contries. What a nice alliance. With such allies you need no enemy!

hard cromed barrels were east german standard for Kalashnikows
-
The original romanian Kashis were crap. Romanian quality is ..... But after 1990 the (west) german government bureaucracy sold the east german arms factory in Wiesa to romania. So the newly build romanian Kashis are made by german technic and technology.
-
In reality the last side folder is east german (today produced in Romania). It is the folder i had had on my KMS-72. If the romanians made it in the same way as the east germans had done it before 1990, then you have a very reliable and stable folder. If you want you can use it to smash doors into parts. Its really good. The only weakpoint i found that the feeling of a gun with a butt and a Kashi with this east german folder is a little bit different. I needed some time to become comfortable with it. When i shot the first times with my KMS-72 i hit nothing. After a while i hit moving "running soldier" targets at 400 meters with the first round. In the USA a unlicenced copy of the Wieger 942 is made. Wieger 942 was a east german Kashi clone for NATO caliber 5.56x45mm. If you could get one of these or even better the german original ....

Since yesterday british and french combat helicopter are in combat over Libya.

The Yak was 15 years earlier. So the F-35 design of lift engines and movable single nozzle is inspired by the Yak, not vice versa. There was an early MiG-29 design study which looked very similar to the Yak-141, with the difference that the miG study had had two engines.
