  1. Frecce Tricolori in Las Vegas

    Me too.
  2. Yea, the grey one is pretty cool.
  3. I'm still on placing the TOD objects on the map. It's a boring job, progress is slow. Unexpected and very rare thing happend during a testflight. 40 mm Bofors Flak really hit a plane.
  4. Vietnam is not really a big fan of China.
  5. To be exactly it was air base Mary-2 (i would prefer to write it Marij, because it had nothing to do with the english girls name Mary). There is a second airbase at this town in Turkmenistan, which is called Mary-1. Mary-2 was the home of the soviet fighter town. The rule was, that the soviets sent entire frontline fighter and fighterbomber regiments (squadrons in western terms) to Mary-2. The regiments got the task to "fight" against the aggressors. This was an contrast to USN Top Gun school, where the task was to "make the best better". The soviets sent all their pilots in, not only the best ones. At the end of the turn, the results of both the individual pilots and the entire regiment were evaluated. I think the photo, which you posted, was taken during a Mary-2 trip of one of the soviet fighter bomber regiments.
  6. This marking is a personal marking, not soviet Top Gun. I think it is from Afghanistan campaign or in the late days of Soviet Union. The soviet Top Gun marking looked so:
  7. The skin of the MiG-21 was made mostly by different aluminium alloys. This alloys had a slightly differnd tendency to oxigation. Thatswhy different colors of "aluminium rost". In service the planes were always clean and polished, so had "rost" no chance.
  8. I dont write Hoth, because i dont want to have troubles with Disney. I think, a Star Wars mod for SF2 would be a nice thing. Of course we can not have space battles, because the game engine cant handle it well, but a CAS or Strike scenario at the Iceplanet "Hoss" could be possible. Just for fun i started to made a 600 x 600 km all snow terrain with high mountains and flat areas and a fistfull bases. Some for the Rebell Alliance and some for the Imperial Forces. Since i have a Tie-Fighter on my harddrive, i want to have a X-Wing or Y-Wing as opponent. It would be nice if one of our modders could bring them to life. As long there are no X-Wings i use chinese MiG's as opponent. Screenshots: Attack on a Rebell Base was intercepted by Rebell forces, but the Imperial Tie-Fighters fought their way trough the defence.
  9. Because it is basically the Baja California, but with a thick layer of ice on it.
  10. I set 4 air bases for the rebell alliance and 4 for the imperial forces. Here a screenshot of the highfield of the terrain and the position of the bases.
  11. This is a MiG-21F-13 of the american Aggressor Squadron, not a soviet bird. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4477th_Test_and_Evaluation_Squadron
  12. As far as i know the soviet MiG-21F-13 were all metallic in the frontline units. For air show displays some planes got red markings on upper wings and fuselage. It may be possible, that some MiG-21F-13 were used long enough in training units to get the air superior "blue grey" skin, which came in the early 1970th or late 1960th. But i have not seen photos of a camouflaged soviet MiG-21F-13.
  13. Cuban MiG's with strange camo

I found an other photo of an cuban MiG-23 with the funny camo.
  14. Colorful camo, but it looks strange
  15. A MiG-21 version which we still need is the MiG-21-93 alias MiG-21BISON. New cockpit canopy and windshield, chaff flare dispensers over the wingroots, deceptive jammer in the tailfin, Kopyo radar with capability of detecting a MiG-21 size fighter at 57 km and engaging two targets at the same time.
  16. East german MiG-23ML over RSBN navigation station. RSBN was a soviet short range navigation system, comparable with american TACAN system. Pilots, which had flown in the LSK and Bundesluftwaffe said, that the soviet RSBN was more accurate than TACAN.
