It looks expensive. I think in near future the combat plane will play the same role like the battleship in WW2. Technically masterpieces, but outdated by more modern systems. And the systems of the future will be drones.

Dont worry. In the 1970th the MiG-21PF had had the breakchute in cross design. So your model is correct, for the 1970th and 80th. -

Nice model. I like it. Only one remark. The early MiG-21 used round breakchutes. The breakchute in cross design came later. It was invented in East Germany, IIRC in the early 1970th. Here a picture of a MiG-21F-13 with round breakchute: With the MiG-21PF it was the same system. -
MiG Mondays - But Read the Rules First
Gepard replied to JosefK's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
Its not really a MiG, its a S-105, the czech licence version of the MiG-19S. 104 planes were built. Some say all were used by the czechoslovakians, but others say, that some S-105 were sold to Egypt. The S-105 were of better quality than the soviet original planes. It was used between 1958 and 1972 by the Czechoslovakian Air Force. BTW the MiG-19 was called "Warzenschwein" (Warthog) by the East Germans.- 297 replies

Changing Aircraft In Your Flight
Gepard replied to snapper 21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It is possible as you see in the screenshot. Different planes with different armament. In the loadout screen you can change the planes, so that you can have different planes in the flight. If you change the plane then the armament load is set to 0. You must select the armament for each plane by yourself. You can only select the weapons which are availabe for the first plane, what means if you have a mix between friendly and enemy planes in your flight, that some planes will have no weapons. The game will not automatically add the weapons of the first plane to other planes. Thats a game issue.- 1 reply

My next terrain project
Gepard replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If the terrain is flat like a mirror, then it is possible, but when the terrain becomes hilly, then parts of the "flat road" are either under the earth or "flying" over the terrain. -

MiG Mondays - But Read the Rules First
Gepard replied to JosefK's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
You should adjust the direction of flare ejection. The MiG-29 is shooting the flares upward and not downward. So the flares are falling behind the jet engine exhausts and cover them. here are the lines: [Flare_Station1] SystemType=DECOY_DISPENSER EjectPosition= -1.669,-2.648,0.707 EjectVelocity= 0.0,-1.0,15.0 NumFlare=120 [Flare_Station2] SystemType=DECOY_DISPENSER EjectPosition= 1.675,-2.648,0.707 EjectVelocity= 0.0,1.0,15.0 NumFlare=120 and so it looks in game:- 297 replies

It seems to be that you are right. In contrast to the old tradition only to fly planes with 2 engines (after Starfighter disaster) the german government decided to buy the single engine F-35.

Gepard replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
No. Its a completly new terrain. It comes with a complete tileset, so that you can use it if you have only SF2E or SF2I. This is the Planning Map: The terrain covers the northern part of Vietnam, the chinese island of Hainan and the chinese vietnamese borderland. The progress is slow, because i'm working now on the placement of the TOD objects (trees, houses) on the map. We have now a nice tool for this job (Thanks to Mue!!!!), but it is still time consuming. Progress is slow but steady. And now the terrain begins to look a little bit more realistic.- 807 replies

Nice heli. But its a SA342M, not the SA 340. The 340 was the prototype of the Gazelle. mandantory screenshot: -
