Irans new Fighter - Qaher 313
fallenphoenix1986 replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Unless they plan on using "the force" to hold the canopy shut theres no way this bird is going anywhere... At best its a mock up, more likely its a prop. Craig -
What level of Patch...
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
NA April 2012 For me as well. Its stable, it works and I don't wanna break it with a new patch. Craig -
As others have said portraying the horror of war is vital to a good war film, so I'm bringing "We Were Soldiers" into this one as well, if for no other reason than the scene where Jimmy gets picked up to be loaded into the medivac. Otheres worth mention, though admitedly all TV series or made for TV movies: "Das Boot", "Bravo Two Zero", "Band of Brothers" & "Mission of the Shark". Craig

"We Were Soldiers" with "Platoon" as a close second Craig

Am I the only person that sees this as a bad thing? Really wasn't a fan of the new Trek... where no lensflare has gone before... Craig

What are you ?
fallenphoenix1986 replied to TeargasHorse's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If I've got my landlubber hat on then EE Lightnings, preffer the early models though I also prefer the Red-top over the Firestreak. On the naval front Buccaneer for strike, Tomcat for anything else. Craig -
Ran accross this on YT, figured you guys might appreciate it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MGPLhzj3cE Craig

Jessica Lynch, its already happened. Being captured and taken prisoner without firing a shot got her a Bronze star, dont quite know why. If a female recruit can meet the EXACT same standards required of a male recruit then fine, no problem, the vast majority of the famale populaion however will not be able to meet this standard. Craig

Su-33KUB WIP
fallenphoenix1986 replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Thanks MB. Aside from naval features, the main gear feature one wheel rather than 2, the tail boom is shorter and it has a different nose profile due to alternate radar. Dare say theres more than that but those are the features that stand out to me. Craig -

fallenphoenix1986 replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Was hoping you would get back to this one :) Don't suppose anyone knows why they went with side by side rater than tandem ala Su-30? As I understand it this bird is the trainer for the Su-33 but is still a fully capable fighter in its own right. Craig -
DCS World, Overview Video, New Announcements
fallenphoenix1986 replied to SkateZilla's topic in CombatACE News
Holding out for some western navy birds before I get into this, might be tempted if any western attack helo's show up first though. Strangely drawn to the Mil-24 as well, didnt see that coming Craig -
Su-33 video - must see
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Wraith27's topic in Military and General Aviation
16 jets on a ship that big is a bit low, a large part of that however is due to the missile silo's up front and the need to house the entire airgroup below decks. Without the silos the hangar could be extended enough for a few more 33's. Alternativly you could have 24 Mig-29's as is. Craig -
Su-33 video - must see
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Wraith27's topic in Military and General Aviation
Mig-29K's are on the way, 24 on order over the next few years. So when they arrive the 33 is out I guess. Craig -
Samurai's Shipyard
fallenphoenix1986 replied to WhiteBoySamurai's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If were throwing out wishlists how about the Vikramaditaya, now that theres a Mig-29K in the pattern it'd be cool to have a home for it Craig -
Anyone still play enough to want new missions?
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Intruder7011's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: Mission & Campaign Building
Toyed witht he idea of doing something like this myself, still might. Was thinking along the lines of Northern Sabre circa '50/60's RN and USN vs. the usual suspects. Craig edit: disregard the above, Numbnuts here entered the thread from the homepage and asumed it was on the SF2-X boards -

fallenphoenix1986 replied to russouk2004's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Can't help but I'd been hopping a 29K would emerge from someones workshop for a while. Need some Russian hookers to chase in my Tomcat Craig -

fallenphoenix1986 replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
A couple of Squadrons of these would have cleaned up in '67. Craig -
Agreed, my personal theory always was that the Xeno's were some sort of Bio weapon. Wasnt nearly as spine tinglingly frightning as it was hyped to be but it filled in the blanks well enough. Looking forward to the next one. Craig

Prometheus, not quite what I'd hoped for but close enough. Craig

Fix Pack for Razbam F-102 Delta Dagger
fallenphoenix1986 replied to SupGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Just bought the 102 yesterday after seeing this pack, had shied away since Ron hadn't updated his mods with TK's constant patching. Now I only wish he'd originally modeled the 106 as well. Going to be spending quite some time in this bird over the next few weeks. Craig -
To all those who've worked on the KAW mods that have been released so far
fallenphoenix1986 replied to Heck's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Probably a better fit using the Albion/Bulwark or any other Majestic/Collosus class ships. IIRC the Sea Fury conducted its deck landing trials aboard HMS Victorious, however that would have been in her imediate post war axial deck configuration. By the time she was refitted as seen in Hinch's model the Sea Furies were gone. Craig
