Gterl - Thanks for the research, but I need air pressure gauges for engine pneumatic systems, not barometric altimeter.
-
While I look for a French air pressure gauge, I worked on the Berg D.I Also found a scale model of the D.I used by the Ukraine post-WW1.
-
Thanks! That's exactly the kind of detail information that I need.
-
Found the Bleriot XI in my backup discs, so I'm dusting off the old model and thinking about what is needed to finish it. The kingpost structure seems the most common, not the trestle. I've not been able to find any closeups of the bracing and warping wire pulleys that were mounted at the apex of the kingpost. These will be VERY visible to anyone "flying" the model so it is important to get them right. Can anyone assist with closeup drawings or photos?

Mike - Many thanks for the recommendation - the book is available on Amazon. I've just started it but am enjoying it immensely. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OR1Q4O/ref=pe_385040_118058080_TE_M1DP

Been fooling around with a Berg D.1 - I've always loved the hexagonal camo.
-
Thanks, but Gtrel's maps and Stephen1918's large stable of aircraft make the sim what it is today.
-
It's in the pipeline, but don't hold your breath as I have a lot of other stuff to finish first.
-
The R.11 cockpit is nearly done. Still need to make the instrument faces.
-
Gterl - thanks! I'm working from a sketch in the Windsock data file - #161 - which shows a set of three instruments for each engine, for a total of six. Each engine set shows air pressure, coolant temperature, and engine RPMs. I speak Spanish and a little German, but was unable to find many French sources due to the language barrier. Still gotta find an air pressure gauge.

Geezer SF2 Models and FM's
Geezer replied to baffmeister's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
Damn, I knew the CR32 pilot's visibility was bad, but that is awful. I'll see if I can find the model - I had to clean out my HD recently - and maybe lower the gun sight line a bit? -
Making good progress on the R11 cockpit, but need help with the instrument panel gauges. Could a French-speaking fan - maybe Coupi or Jeanba - help me out? I need a distinctly FRENCH WW1 engine tachometer, air pressure gauge, and water temperature gauge. Thanks ahead of time.

Add Sketchup 3D Models to First Eagles
Geezer replied to LZ43's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
If I understand you correctly, just install the Max2009 export module per instructions. That should be all you need. I use the export module for MaxR9 and have exported models for both FE2 and SF2 without any problems. -
Add Sketchup 3D Models to First Eagles

Yes. If you can export LODs to SF2, then you can use the same module to export LODs to FE2. -
The Greek skins are something I started long ago but never finished. The aircraft is MontyCZ's excellent Avia B-534:

Been tinkering with a number of things - the CR32 is almost ready for Baffmeister to work his magic on the FM. Needed a break from ground objects, so I worked on the Junkers J.1 and Dornier Do23. The Do23 is inspired by MontyCZ's Munich Crisis stuff that he made for SF. My "what if" will assume Britain and France honor their treaty obligations - they didn't in real life - and declare war on Germany in 1938. I'm going to occasionally work on a 1938 aircraft that can be used with Gterl's excellent new Vosges map which covers the Franco-German border. The Do23 was ordered when the Luftwaffe was created, and was the first bomber used in quantity by Nazi Germany. It was a disappointment - it was under powered, so lacked range and bomb load. Eventually, it was replaced by the German bombers that most enthusiasts are familiar with, but was still in use in 1938 - the Heinkel, Junkers, and Messerschmitt production lines were not yet working at full capacity.

Caporetto Terrain
Geezer replied to gterl's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2 File Announcements
Mike - I had the same problem and fixed it by replacing two groups in the wwiCaporetto_data.INI - [SolidObjectTextureMaterial] and [AlphaObjectTextureMaterial] - with the two shown below. Just copy/paste and it should work. [SolidObjectTextureMaterial] DepthBufferCheck=TRUE DepthBufferWrite=TRUE RenderedInOrder=TRUE AlphaTestEnabled=TRUE CullMode=NO_CULL LightEnabled=TRUE SpecularEnabled=FALSE EmissiveEnabled=FALSE FogEnabled=TRUE AmbientColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000 DiffuseColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000 ZBufferOffset=5.000000 BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA NumTextureStages=1 TextureStage[01].TextureName= TextureStage[01].MipMap=TRUE TextureStage[01].FilterEnabled=TRUE TextureStage[01].StageColorOp=TEXTURE_MODULATE_DIFFUSE TextureStage[01].StageAlphaOp=TEXTURE [AlphaObjectTextureMaterial] DepthBufferCheck=TRUE DepthBufferWrite=FALSE RenderedInOrder=false AlphaTestEnabled=TRUE CullMode=NO_CULL LightEnabled=TRUE SpecularEnabled=FALSE EmissiveEnabled=FALSE FogEnabled=TRUE AmbientColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.00000 DiffuseColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.00000 ZBufferOffset=2.000000 BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA NumTextureStages=1 TextureStage[01].TextureName= TextureStage[01].MipMap=FALSE TextureStage[01].FilterEnabled=TRUE TextureStage[01].StageColorOp=TEXTURE_MODULATE_DIFFUSE TextureStage[01].StageAlphaOp=TEXTURE Fade=NORMAL StartFadeDistance=50.0 EndFadeDistance=50.0 -
Excellent work. You put a lot of effort into those skins. For my part, I'm working on a cockpit for the Caudron R11.

Dropped by a website I had not visited in a while, and discovered an authentic replica of the Pfalz D.VIII is nearly complete. http://www.aerodrome.se/?page_id=98#

For those who may be interested in the classic 1930s aircraft of the Sino-Japanese war of 1937-45, below are a few more WIPs to supplement the Chinese CR32. WIP Nakajima A4N.rar WIP Yokosuka B4Y.rar WIP Northrop 2E.rar
-
See attached. It is still a WIP - the artwork is far from complete and there is only one LOD. Included are the artwork templates. China CR32.rar

Ready for Christmas - Italian-Caporetto Terrain
Geezer replied to gterl's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Got FE2 installed and the first thing I did was run Caporreto. Absolutely gorgeous. Gterl, ya done good. -
Just found the Dewoitine 510 stuff. I'm still interested in the 1938 concept.
-
Eugene2: Dunno what has been passed on to you guys, as I have not had time to DL the team's WIP aircraft packs. So.......attached is what I have been able to locate so far. Got two more backup discs to look at, so I should be able to find the rest. Note the excellent spinning rotary engine artwork is the work of Stephen1918. Also, the attached all say "templates" but are mostly artwork, plus templates.
