Italy (Piave Map) - diary & progress
Geezer replied to gterl's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
I can't work in the dark. Send me a PM with some of your completed art attached, so I have a city grid layout to work with. Only then will I know how big to make the models, and how to lay them out to look realistic. -
Maybe VonS has a "special" file tucked away in his toolbox?
-
Yup - two versions. One, with sails and wake, and one with bare yardarms and no wake. I may experiment with some WW1 warships, to see if I can sorta/kinda recreate the drama of coal-fired black smoke!

Been corresponding with gterl about objects for the Mark 2 version of his Italian front map. Among other things, he requested some maritime objects. First experiments below. I'm tinkering with a wake concept that would be a transparent plane on the water surface, part of the LOD. While it would not be dynamically animated, anything would be better than the stock game's wake.

Got the new Breguet 14 fuselage mapped, and made some new escadrille markings for the Nieuport 24. When this stuff gets released, the files will include templates and sample colors so guys can make new markings.

Needed a short break from WW1 stuff, so I worked on Sparviero skins. While still rough, the 3-color skins are far enough along to show what they will look like when complete.

Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots Thread
Geezer replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
VonS' previous atmospherics look spectacular over any game map in FE2, so his new atmospherics should also work well in SF2. Everybody wins. -
Gterl's map and VonS' atmospherics look so good that I tried them out with my old CR42 and Gladiator.

Below are two experimental screens for the Pfalz D8. If they survive the testing process, They'll become the templates for other aircraft.
