I love WOV,it's got to be my personal favourite,I love all the work you guys put into it making it more realistic and historically correct every day, but,am I wrong in thinking that no one has ever done a selection of skins for the VPAF pilots to date? There are some superb USAF pilot skins that I have downloaded from Kevin Wrench's site,I think the template was originally Diego's,although I not sure.I do know they are beautiful hi res 512x512 skins that really go to make the whole sim that much richer. Is there any skinner out there that could give us two or three VPAF pilot skins,I personally think it's been overlooked, whilst I have'nt got the skills required to do this I would be more than happy to supply the artist photos for reference from my book collection. The MiG 21 pilots all appear from my books to wear olive green anti G outfits with white ZS-3 helmets over a leather SL-60 flying helmet. The MiG 17 and MiG 19 pilots all seemed to wear dark brown leather jackets over their olive green nylon PPK-1 anti-G flight suits and all wore a leather Chinese or Russian SL-60 flying helmet over a textile white/cream cap. Some of the VPAF aces wore their medals on their jackets. Most of the seat straps showing strapped in pilots appear to be in olive green webbing with big alumimium buckles.I could go into more detail but if anyone has got the Mig units of the Vietnam war books by Istvan Toperczer they're all in there, and they're really worth a look.Well all of this was just an observation really that I personally think is missing from the sim,if someone has skinned some VPAF pilots please let me know,I do like realism.

Yes if anyone has a set of CH Pro pedals and want's to utilize the toe brake option, you apparantly can do so by first of all downloading the CH Control Manager software v.4.20 from CH-Hangar.com and then you can remap the 'B' or brake button in the game controls to the axis of the pedals which is set up for the brake action.I say apparantly as I have yet to work the little matter out myself, lol. If anyone get's there before I do please share how. Some of us lesser mortals find these editors/managers a bit of a headache, especially when you're not gifted with a technical brain, lol.

Right,I have spoken to CH Products in the US and their tech guy said it is possible with the CH software to map a button to an axis as Streakeagle said he has done with his Saitek pedals. The BIG problem is trying to do this when you have'nt got a techy brain like moi.But it can be done,so I shall endeavour to get this sorted out,I just can't use a button on my joystick when I have pedals that can be used as they should.
-
Thanks Streakeagle I'm sure you're right I did have a pair of Saitek pedals up until about a year ago and they worked with the wheelbrake option as you say,I am going to look into this and see what I can do,maybe a kind email to CH Products to ask if they can get round this little problem. It's only a small thing but it does add to the realism, don't you think?

I'm having a problem configuring my CH Pro pedals to WOV/WOI.The most important control that of the rudder configs fine, but I want to config the pedals so I can use them for the wheel brakes. This must be possible as there is a separate downward axis for this,ie like a brake on a car,the problem is when I try to config them under the customize heading it asks to press a button to config, like you would to config a button to use as a gun,now there are no buttons on the pedals obviously and that's seems to be the problem.I was wondering if there was somebody else who has got over this problem and could give me a few clues or,most likely am I doing it wrong in which case please tell me,I've been pulling my hair out on this one.I know I can use a button on my joystick or throttle fot this option but that ain't realistic is it.Thanks all.

I have just recently purchased a set of Pro Pedals from CH and whilst rudder control is perfect I can't seem to config them for the 'Wheelbrakes'.Basically I have gone into the SF1 'Control' section have made sure they config to the 'Rudder'controls and have then gone into the 'Customise' section to config the 'Wheelbrakes' to them but this asks to press a button when you have decided what part of the controller you want to assign for that duty.Unfortunatley there are no buttons on the Pro Pedals, you can only use the axis to have rudder control or another downward axis which would be the brakes, but it won't recognize it,has anyone been able to get round this, any help would really be appreciated.Of course it could be down to user error, but I'm sure I'm doing everything as I have with all my other CH kit.Any clues??

B52 Pilots in WOV?
Madprof replied to Madprof's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sorry all, panic over, have realised my stupid mistake. -
I have recently installed Wings Over Vietnam with the latest Oct 2008 update,my question to everyone is is there anyway that the stock B52D pilots could be better installed into the cockpit rather than having half their bodies hanging out of it.At some stage I can only presume that this aircraft has been rescaled/resized,am I right?Does anyone know of a pilot or aircraft resize that would fix this? Thanks. ps Maybe I'm doing something wrong,if I am please let me know.

Hello all, could I ask kindly for someone to email me the data ini's for the A-7A and A-7B Corsair's from Wings Over Vietnam,I don't know how to extract them from my game and they are the only two aircraft that I have'nt been able to modify.Prefarably I'm after Data in's that allow me to manually open the canopies of the cockpits but it's not vital as I think I can do this myself if only I can get at the Data ini's.Any help would really be appreciated. Best Regards Andy travis8814@aol.com
