  1. and so begin the As.... this one was a PITA to get reference pics for. big thanks to the Plattsburgh AFB FB page!
  2. E model done for 1990-1991. now on to the A models gotta fix up an old experimental aircraft too, while i'm working on 707 airframes of this era
  3. well you could always do a third with nmf base and green tga'd on to select airframes. (ducks in anticipation of something thrown....)
  4. how did you get so many different types on the ramp? most i usually see is two mandatory screenie
  5. Same model that came out off site a couple of years ago? from the Gulf... Taz and Ms Taz. same plane. always do your homework kids!
  6. If you had to buy a new automobile.

since i dont see in the specs that it has to be factory fresh (and therefore new to you)... under 20 grand, blonde not included!
  7. not me, i mess with the jumbos mostly now they're the Viper Teams, led by Dave. they just happened to show up (along with the DC-8s) when i was checking that latest batch of progress on the tankers. nothing new to report there, so heres a Big MAC and quarter pounder to hold you all over til updates
  8. if it was my project what i would do upload the skin, and just the cockpit files, as well as aircraft.ini, data.ini and cockpit.ini all in the skins section. every ini needed to make it work credit the original modder with the pit, yourself with adjusting it to the Herc leave the lod and other files alone unless you are making some fakepilot adjustments. major change or copy for different years. when i did the Euro 1 for Dels original Herc years ago i ini edited the flare/chaff pods off the nose, and felt it signifigant enough at the time to release in the aircraft section. But when i did veltro2k's Starlifter and Galaxy, those just had skins and tgas so into the skin section. ABOVE ALL ELSE CREDIT THE WORK NOT YOUR OWN hope this was a little helpful, am sure someone else will weigh in as well
  9. Website Problems

not a problem, but a kudo could not load a signature previously (keeping me off the pissed of Capun bandwagon). can do it since the upgrade. could have been my dumb self, but will attribute it to site improvement! (and the red signifies dual banned status!)
  10. Agreed, that 7.33 figure sounds like a brochure, dont exceed this or else, number. Slight bit above, mechanics are bustin their humps and the pilot is at attention in front of his CO finding out what "or else" means. Signifigantly higher (and in USAF Zipper models i think that would be 10G) best case is the plane is a write off. Worst case is a funeral and round of training for the other pilots
  11. will that be a prelude to the ANG N users? mandatory screenie
  12. Cold War Movies

look for The Beast. from '88, about a Soviet tank crew cut off from the rest of their unit.
  13. Cold War Movies

i would have to say the book RM, not so much the movie.......
  14. nice skins and nice to see ya back angelp
  15. Cold War Movies

just inventory the survival kit for us CL.....
  16. Cold War Movies

"Mr President, we'll do better next time..." great end scene when the E-4 turns just enough to allow Looking Glass to stop the war
  17. still WIP, but it is the same skin for those with better eyesight, this mod brought to you by Donna Summers.... or the ANG comes out to play
  18. yes i did. i've read many posts where it was "whats taking so long" or "would you do this?" and that was how i took it. my apologies sir @yakarov79, i thought i saw angelp working on some a long time back. i thought (as Wrench might have too) you had taken those over.would be great for ODS and later conflicts, but as i said earlier its on the modder's schedule not the customers! and did you say Wessex? (rubs hands and smiles at thought of another DAT bird independantly developed for here)
  19. rather impatient answer there. If you can make your own, do so. if you cant wait patiently. also remember that the work of others is dependent on THEIR interest and real life schedule, not what WE may want.
  20. yo Allen, i heard you like refuelers dawg....... so i got you a refueler refueling a refueler! (btw it is damn hard to keep formation in a jumbo!)
  21. A new CombatACE feature? We should have fun with this.

well the new generation of Americans seems to be scared of a cuss word, us old vets on here.....
  22. Zapad 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGzPKnH2sk8 Soooooo..... has anyone checked the RT broadcast schedule for any showing s of Alexander Nevsky?
  23. My computer died.

under two years is highly unusual. what brand was it?
  24. F-35 by the numbers

a few pennies thrown in... dunno what your talking about no regard for pilots as far as the USN. the A-7 had some of the most reliable engines of their era, and A-4 was designed so small it didnt need to fold wings on the flight deck (kinda hard to do that on a twin jet platform). so far of the three types the C model F-35 is the best of the batch. it has consistently met or exceeded test goals. but you have to scour for that nugget of info because the A model not being able to shoot a gun for a few more years or B model's questionable IOC sell more headlines than the C model doing well. as to Canada's needs, for homeland defense the Super Bug is in fact better. more stations equals more gas, more weapons if needed and you dont need to sneak around your home turf. Now, if Canada wants to play to global game with the US in the future as an equal partner*, then you might either get some Growlers as well (we are stupidly sacrificing EW for stealth) or some other airframe to fill a niche we are neglecting or get some F-35s to play along on day one. But a squadron with dedicated attack mission should suffice, with much support from the US branch flying the same model. I would suggest the C if you are concerned about reliability. If you were to get teh A model, call it the CA-135 just to needle the USAF figher mafia. over all i think the F-35 will work out once we figure out what to do with them. the last "designed" jack of all trades couldnt find enough thrust in all of Christendom to be a naval fighter. but it went on to be the best deep strike aircraft for around two decades and with some ingenuity even managed CAS ok (tank plinking anyone?). but enough about the F-111, back to teh F-35. as a day one door kicker and day three quarterback i think it will be a game changer (much like how the F-22s are being used). down in the mud supporting the joes? well, only the Marines seem fully willing to do that where a $0.50 round might take down a (however many this week) millions dollars aircraft. the more important thing will be training and tactics to deal with current and hypothetical threats and not fully believing teh hype of stealth. * sorry to the Canadians here but you all dont seem to get around as much as teh US or UK; and while i've seen you guys in Iraq and Afghanistan I dont recall you helping the Queen since the Second World War. to be honest i dont recall any Canadian led interventions anywhere. Which probably isnt a bad thing as the "great" powers tend to screw that up abit.
