And the first few can actually be fun. Its the ones after you get the placement and system down that crush your soul. (j/k) -

Many of us have used Joe Baughers site for US military serial numbers. http://users.rcn.com/jeremy.k/serialSearch.html I got to looking for serials for other countries and figured this could be a help to modders in SF2 and DCS RAF current aircraft http://www.ukserials.com/ Former RAF aircraft (gallery, not a listing like others) http://www.demobbed.org.uk/aircraft.php?s=d&type=image French Air Force (does not give a listing but explains how the system goes) http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/waf/france/af/fra-af-home.htm Luftwaffe (post 1956) http://wiki.scramble.nl/index.php/German_Military_Aircraft_Serials Overall listings http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/countries/countries-territories.htm this site needs some hunting, but many of the air arms that can be looked up give information on how their air craft are serialed Hope this can help modders of all stripes and please feel free to add to this list.

Two unrelated questions.....
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Question 1: do we have a LAV-25 ground object hiding anywhere in house? its not in the Gen 1 or 2 d/l sections and am wondering if it might be available anywhere else. Question 2: has anyone gotten Florians Airbus 310 to work in Gen2? yes i know its a Gen 1 bird but most of teh tricks to bring it up to date dont appear to be working. as you all may have noticed i have a fetish for the airliners lately and the Airbus would make 5 that i can give my special treatment in a relatively short time frame (always good to recycle/upcycle decals folks!) TIA for any answers on these, even negative ones will help -

update: big thanks to eburger, he got Airbus up and running, as well as my dumb butt realizing the skin might need a texture ini. agreed the LAV isnt repped in the JGSDF pack. WBS, it would be appreciated but not a big hurry. yakarov has an underslung load developed and was looking for the LAV as a Marine load. would be nice to have tho as several are working USMC based campaigns. thanks to all that have responded so far! A310 in Gen 2, goes into the paint shop next month -

Return the civilian mod to life?
daddyairplanes replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Lotta projects on the plate right this second, pushin for labor day release. But one of those projects is a redux on my DC-10 so if someone does the ini edit for water bombing and the fake pilot added gondola underneath i can knock out the skin. The model is the same that i released previously, just updating the skin. -
Return the civilian mod to life?
daddyairplanes replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Are you doin it on skin or as tga? Many entries to get sll the meshes in but i would think a decal woulld work better in this case. (Said the guy doin whole airlines tga XD) Slight topic shift, any interest in the DC-10 tanker or Evergreens 747? The DC-10 just needs a pod underslung (skin can be done 1 hour from the go ahead) and the 747 can be tge first for a rework coming up (early next month after about 4 other near complete or easy projects) -

Not to mention an Army, which once upon a recent time had more aircraft than said Air Force (Huey and Kiowa retirements dropped it to 200 less than USAF)

Update skins For F-16 packs
daddyairplanes replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
You are welcomevto fire up gimp and make such a pack. I want to do ANG units myself, but that is easily a year away or better. Leije EJ said, the active modders have their own projects of interest to them that will typically take priority in their eyes -
Got SF2:V...recommend another?
daddyairplanes replied to davido53's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If going slow due to a budget, i'd get Europe then build from there. But i'm a child of the Cold War and fan of REFORGERs, QRA and defending the Fulda Gap. For me, all but the original SF2 and NA are there to enhance the Europe experience. -

Mark have you taken a look at the EAW files in the download sectionand posts in that forum? By observation not many here work EAW regularly but did in the past, but a look through the EAW forums should give you a better feel for the community in that regard. BTW, welcome to CombatAce!
