spend half the effort you use on your mods on getting well. otherwise you will shoot past getting better and be stronger than the $6 Million Dollar Man! seriously tho, prayers are with you for a speedy and effective recovery! -

Going back and rereading this thrwad, i have to askmif you've read The War That Came Early series by Harry Turtledove. Same basic priciple (war kicks off in 38) but a somewhat different how things go. Might want to give it a look -
Cool idea, but rather difficult to keep goin over the same timespan i'm afraid If you're talkin here on site. Daily checkup on Jonathans site would be good for as long as interest held

Me thinks it always was. The game is somewhat limited in stock version, though with almost all makes of Phantom available. Go full 5 +2 merge install though, and pull the mods you desire and its still quite enjoyable. And i dont think the modders are out of steam. We just have real lives as well is all, and not all left standing have full capability (3d modelling, flight model knowledge etc). -

Can You Help Me Get Started?
daddyairplanes replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
well you may have to change the cat pointer in the terrain that you choose. also adjust the years in the options ini so you can fly from 39-45. beyond that d/l the terrain for where you want to fly and the aircraft you want to populate it. here is a tutorial by Wrench on how to change up your cat pointer, http://combatace.com/topic/50389-selecting-the-proper-terrain-cat/ so long as you dont want a naval fight you should be ok. carrier action you need at least SF2V, though NA would be a better choice. i dont think you can fly carrier mission without one of those two i suspect the Ancient One will correct where i might be wrong here, but thats what i got -
Century series metal...
daddyairplanes replied to TeargasHorse's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
F-101B and 106 were always grey. 101A and C were natural metal, then camoflaged after conversion to recce birds. the 102 was occasionally in nat metal, but more often grey then SEA, although there was atleast one painted silver laquer at Ogden. corrosion control experiment as for nat metal Phantoms, they had a hodgepodge of materials used and looked very ratty when not painted. thats why the Thunderbirds started painting aircraft white with the logos after conversion to Phantoms. -

Templates for Veltro's YF-12A
daddyairplanes replied to Menrva's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Is all good by me. You have the model making skills. The rest of us make em colorful. Or shiny. Or whatever they should look like. I was just tryin to tell what works best, esp for those not named Sundowner oor Centurion As for the AIM-47, didn't the -54 derive from it? -
Templates for Veltro's YF-12A
daddyairplanes replied to Menrva's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Veltro, we do appreciate the help you offer with the tiles you give. however, in templates most i think are looking for one finished skin, with at least one additional layer featuring the panel lines and nonchanging parts such as engines and tires. that makes it easier to take a blankish skin and change it up (such as what i'm trying to do with the Starlifters and Galaxys). not saying this doesn't help anyone, just that i dont think its what most of the lesser skilled skinners look for. -
Looks good. Interesting choices for the cast, but all good actors. And thats ALL Crazyhorse has to say? seemed a rather quiet response

Changing aircraft Data
daddyairplanes replied to spiteful21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
For the missiles, just adjust the service dates and loadout ini For chaff and flares, be sure to adjust the position to somewhere reasonable on the aircraft. It would be silly for chaff to pop out 3 foot off the wing or out ot the cockpit! -

Post-war Me 262 development
daddyairplanes replied to macelena's topic in Military and General Aviation
difference: in 1945 the russians swiped alot of equipment and whole factories as reparations. used the items produced for themselves. hard to make new planes in 2014, we just make it for all of europe in game. no factory jigs needed bonus for 2014: if some kind russian soul would swipe from a-team site, in twenty first century they would then give to the rest of the world. (yes i know thats piracy. not suporting it for piracy purposes. just wishing bad ju ju on a-team. and foriegn piracy is more likely than the head of that site being devoured by a pack of feral dogs. only a minor grudge, sorry for the rant)
