Question, about the skin of the F-4B?
daddyairplanes replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
now defer all answers to The Ancient One. I am not that sophisticated and usually make a change fire up and see how it looks. never really noticed the part you are asking about in the first post tho, lord know I was playin with the templates for the N for a while. should release the USCG skin I made on a lark........ -

Question, about the skin of the F-4B?
daddyairplanes replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
what part exactly are you looking for? that is near the DECM for the N and J but shouldn't be needed for a regular B. could you elaborate on your question a bit? -
Enhancement Pack for TW DLC 23 - F-4N Phantom II
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Enhancement Pack for TW DLC 23 - F-4N Phantom II File Submitter: daddyairplanes File Submitted: 03 September 2013 File Category: F-4 DLC 23 F-4N PHANTOM II ENHANCEMENT PACK This is a mod to enhance the DLC F-4N. It includes data.ini's for smoky engines, realistic weapons and drooping ailerons. It also features many skins that have been touched up using Sundowners templates. Finally it has 100 historic BuNo's, and several styles and colors for modexes. It covers a wide spread of N users without becoming completely OCD. Included are: -3 F-4N aircraft (N, N_77, N_80) to help keep some order and smallness of file size. skins covered include USN/MC Grey, Overall Gloss Gloss Gull Gray(circa 1980), Lo Viz Grey (1981) and TPS (1983). Ferris and Heater Ferris were not used for the most part on N models. -my expanded squadronlist.ini. tho many units are stock in here, several will not show without this. Plus it's got room for anybody you can think of and then some more. -an expansive NavalF4 decal folder to cover all years after Vietnam (EXCEPT 1976). not all will be full right now, but they will be filled up with some future planned mods. -a Numbers folder with Buno's for the N, and several styles of Modex's -smokier engine effects for the J-79s. -J-79 engine sounds REQUIRED: The TW F-4N Phantom II, DLC 23. INSTALLATION: same as any other mod. unzip the file, paste into your mod folder, allow overwrites for old copies of the smoke effects and the F-4N.ini. CREDITS First is a HUGE THANK YOU to mytai01. much of this work is based off of his model for decalling the F-4 Phantom. Some of the nn tgas are even lifted off his B model skins and adjusted into N models BuNos. Those that have seen his work will recognize much influence in this mod. Thanks to Sundowner for his templates. With a Sundowner template, you have to work hard to screw up a skin!!!!! As with all my Phantom mods, thank you to Spillone104 for his J-79 effects. I do like them so, and hope you will as well. thanks to JSF_Aggie for his drooping aileron edit for the data.ini. although TK fixed that in the July 2013 patch, i have not patched there yet and know that many still haven't. for the time being the mod uses JSF_Aggie's work. Thanks to Gerwin, Blade, Wrench, Dave, mppd, Ghost531 and many others who have given me answers and resources to many technical questions the last year and a half I've been working this. special thanks to Ghost531 and CrazyHorseB34 for getting me off my fourth point of contact when stalled on this project and as always thanks to TK who developed both the game and the particular DLC, then left enough work for likes of me to fill in. again thank you for downloading this mod and i hope that you enjoy it! been messing with this on paper for quite a while now. roughly WW2-1950---- P-40, Hurricane, Spitfire, F-51, A-26, B-24 or B-17 1951-1955---- Meteor, F-51, Spitfire, Canberra (English not B-57) 1956-1960---- F-86, F-84, Canberra, T-28? (trend towards common airframes to save on repairs) 1961-1966---- Lightning F53, F-100D, Canberra, A-1 1967-1972---- Same as above, F-104G introduced by 71 1973-1979---- Mirage III, F-104G, A-1, F-5 (US arms embargo on election of Jimmy Carter) 1980-1988---- F-16A, Hawk T1, E-2C, F-5 (Reagan begins new sales, back to only a few platforms) in the 50's the decision is made to focus primarily on defensive operations for the AF, simplifying logistics. Navy is actually set as the offensive arm (more on that later). and keep it simple!!! in my Dhimar they hire mercs but just for training and flying missions while training is ongoing (like Oman or the Tiger Force in the book Warriors) and strive to get citizens to fly and maintain. the Phantom would have been a complex beast for such an AF to fly or fix esp in a desert environment. but thats just my line of thinking, never gave much thought to Paran other than them turning to the Sov's after WW2. Hence why P-40s and Hurricanes could suffice during WW2. still doing much thought on a Dhimari Naval Aviation, starting with likely and Indepence class and Wildcat to at least learn the ropes. Later they get the USS Franklin, and pay out of pocket to convert to SCB-125 -

Replacing/Adding Roundel
daddyairplanes replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
basically. it would likely be a good idea to put said roundel in the decal folder of the skin you are making though. and if doing a stock or established aircraft, you may wish to make another skin specific to that nation. -

No Stary, but it is an area we are interested in keeping an eye on. Glad they are finally getting some real world use....as for the Predator theory 1 is it's doing what U-2s or Sr-71s would be doing 20+ years ago. For theory 2, see Dos Gringos "They shot down a Predator"! -

Hawker Hunter F.Mk1 - Spanish Republican Air Force
daddyairplanes replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
you two might want to check out Harry Turtledoves latest series, about what if Hitler kicked off WWII in september of 38 rather than 39. many possibilities for you Spinners, and the Spanish Civil War is a major plotline as well. Marshall Sanjuro is still alive in this series and in the last book released Franco got shot by a Czech sniper with a 37mm antitank gun!! -
My next round of Sea Service Phantoms
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
i am wrapping up BuNos for the F-4J, and will quickly copy and convert to S's. (first 100 are all serials that were converted, a dozen to twenty more will be historical like 155800) after that i'm going to give these two aircraft the same treatment i recently gave the F-4N. polls are open until i complete the Buno's are completed. keep in mind i am working 1974 through the end of the models active career, no vietnam or early 60s. its just my preferred era to work on. also anyone who is working on Nam era skins, feel free to get a hold of me. i have 100 B bunos (thats the 4 digit and the serial number/model by the stabs) and will soon have at least 100 J's. none involved in fatal crashes and all that survived to be converted thru BEE LINE. also have the decal ini locations for placement. looking forward to see what you all think. the DLC skins are nice and all, but not if the markings are still from 65 or 73!!!! -
