Need help: Flashing/glitching texture material (3ds max-> SF2)
daddyairplanes replied to Centurion-1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
get that occasionally also. do you have two graphics cards? i have the integrated and the Radeon and its less (though not totally gone) after setting up thru CCC to run the game on the radeon card. only ever noticed on stock Phantoms and the Hercs, both of which settle down when i throttle down!! -

Why is the pilot sitting outside of the plane
daddyairplanes replied to Stipe's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
check that the fake pilot called out in the aircraft data ini matches the fake pilot model name in the pilots folder. exact spelling punctuation etc. if so much as one capital letter is off, it wont recognize it and then you've got the newest superglue commercial. -

i was trying to send a 24MB zipped file in PM to get some other eyes on a project of mine. however it says i can only upload 5 MB and the file is too big. whats going on? i have uploaded way bigger files in the past via PM so i'm abit curious as to why and when the change.

daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
no thats not the prob i have 45 mb limit in attachments, only using 5.1. when i use full editor to send a PM and try to upload the file, it states that maximum file size is 5 MB. my file is 24 MB. i figure this is a site issue or membership issue. who ever gets this fixed gets on my mail list for trial run on Euro1 Hercs! just tried it again. same 5 MB limit with advanced and basic uploaders. -

daddyairplanes replied to EEVEE's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
its ok we hate yaaaaa too EVEE. as said many wishes out there, not so many 3d modelers and FM guys. either be patient or make em yourself. as for me im patiently waiting on daniels AH-1(single engine with 20mm cannon) and H-46's................. -
Hey guys, can you help a fellow flyer out? :)
daddyairplanes replied to GodsLt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
ok as said i took a look at the Arnie Phantom in NF5 and it would be the most upto date for patches and what have you. still has some ini editing to do IMHO but did not see anything amiss. awaiting screenies before further comment/assistance. -
SF2NA Super Pack
daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
America reached Norfolk in R/L on Sept 22 of 79. sooooo really take your pick on what who you want to put aboard although trials had been ran by then with Harriers on regular carriers so maybe a ferry mission to add more VSTOL fire power instead? as for deployments its mainly the Forrestal, Nimitz and Coral Sea that embarked Marine F-4s. think there was one other but not America in the later half of the 70's. -

which version of the E_79 are you using? just went to look at the one in NF5 and the inboard pylons look fine to me. decalling is another matter given i dont remember the 480th TFS's tailcode being CE....... -

SF2NA Super Pack
daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Viggen i just have the rudder checkerboard in the White folder for my decal pack. nothing in the Euro 1 or Hill grey as they did not fly in those schemes. they also changed up their layout alot of times, while most units in my pack stayed relatively the same throughout the years after 73. @ macelena, you know i honestly forgot bout the J_74 i released! working on skins and decals or a newer one. lod with DECM built in provided by Sundowner, skins orig by the same but adjusted to be decal friendly by yours truly. and decal setup similar to the USAF pack. due to a couple other projects and schoolwork will be abit longer two weeks than most. to all working this...... on the shorter two weeks side got C-130E serials done for SEA and Euro 1 skins on Dels Hercs....... -

daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
there are some excellent skins for the 57th FIS in the Gen 2 DL section that you should be able to use. also i know a guy that made a decal pack for all USAF tactical users (non ADC tasked units) as well. (ok so i'm tootin my own horn there...........). finally theres been alot of conversation in macelana's NA improvement thread lately about USMC units that were there around 79. -
Upgrading stock campaigns: Northern Sabre...any other ideas?
daddyairplanes replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
yes they were. went to ADC Grey only a few months before the E's arrived. first checkerboard on the rudder then in a similar pattern to the stock decal. -

Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series Work in progress Thread
daddyairplanes replied to KnightWolf45's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
i would love to help out but 1. you cant usually port to an older edition of the software and 2. i'm taking a class learning how to use it right now. FastCargo has mentioned that using Blender then transferring to Max 2009 has the least amount of screwiness in translation. when i get better at it i want to make a C-23 Sherpa (good simply place to start i think) then eventually work on the Midway class if WhiteBoySamurai hasnt gotten to there. but the Sherpa or even rocket pods ar more two months off than two weeks. skinning i could defineatly help with now though once they're mapped. -

morteza there is a Fencer in the NF5 mod. you would have to d/l the whole thing to get it but then you can skin it to your liking for the IRIAF. @ cocas wish i could help but i only have Max2012 right now. looks awesome though, esp the aircraft you cant get any way on this site -
SF2 Series Air To Ground Combat School
daddyairplanes replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
nice but Navy/Marine Phantoms didnt fly with PGMs. never wired to carry the designator pods and the mission more typically went to the Intruder and SLUF units. some of the pilots pushed for the capability but it was never approved. more likley for a B to use Mk 82s or task a D or E model on it to get early gen LGBs on the bridge. -
