New Comp, Win7 and SF2E
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
appreciate the help guys. Siddog is the winner here as the only mods i had added were my personal Phantom mod and Starys Germany improvements. but the graphics setting in Catalyst control was unspecified. had not changed or disabled anything yet and probs were there in stock and lightly modded. overall i am pretty impressed with how its running, esp after a standard Compaq Presario that i boughtin Dec 08! as asked earlier, i am used to using the F keys to change view. how so i use them on a new HP Pavilion? it came to the house while i was in the stans and of course my wife doesnt know where the paper work is. its like trading in an 82 Subaru for a 2012 Buick! -

AJS 37 not from the other site. excellent... just started rereading Intl. AirPower Review article on said aircraft as well, from a year or two before their retirement. ya got a two seater in there? good for the jamming version which was the last flown, aside from heritage flights now. -

why not d/l Gimp to make your hangar and loading screens? it will change the format easily for loading screens (if you want to change from say bitmap to jpeg) and with some practice can make the hangar screens. have not done it myself but more due to working skins and esp. tga's rather than hangar screen. i know photos can be played with as i often lift markings off of photos for decals. and finally its free! as for Paint the most i did with it before getting Gimp is resize bitmaps for my older comp. so not sure if you could but defineatly reccomend getting Gimp instead. -

also a quick reference is the paintjob, most Mud Hens are gunship gray allover while D air superiority Eagles are lighter Mod Eagle paintjob. -

SF2 and windows 7 64 bit? my new computer just got to the house in the states, should be to me in scenic snowy afghanistan next month. specs on my new HP as ordered -750GB 5400 rpm HD -8GB DDR3 memory -1GB ATI Radeon graphics card(forget the speeds at the moment, doing this at work offa my memory) -Intel dual-core processor(again dont remember specifics but believe 2.5GHz with boost to 3.1, better than my current 1.8) -and as mentioned, Windows 7 Home 64 bit. before i get it and get happy transferring mods over as i asked what do i need to know going from Vista to Windows? also for the last few years my old Compaq with everything stock has struggled with mods like NF4+ and the Vietnam A+G expansion pack. do you guys think this new rig will be able to handle such mods and SF2NA? TIA for your input -

Phantoms could still be included unless it kicks off in 86. last atlantic squadrons (VF-74 and another dont recall this second) switched to Toms in 83, Midway last sailed with hers in Pacicific around 84-85, and VF202 made the last Phantom trap in 86. whos to say a transitioning squadron didnt get orders to deploy at the last second the way VA-72 did in A-7E's for Gulf 90-91? thats to say nothing of the VMFA's that were still flying the Double Ugly throught the 80's. -

ok. working Navy Phantoms right for LANTFLT, but toying with doing stock A-7 and A-6 when i'm done before PACFLT Phantoms. would focus 75-88 on that, based on stock TW airframes if no one else is looking to do it. hopefully the A-6E skin wont be too diff from the A and easy to mod now, add later. -

daddyairplanes replied to Romflyer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
if its not in game already then it think Sundowners will be one of the first squadrons skinned. however most LANTFLT and PACFLT squadrons seem to be represented in the new squadronlist, including VF-1, 2, and VX-4. -

Dave, are you or anyone else working more detailed skins for the TW A-7 and A-6? or are you focusing more on Hornets, and other third party jets for the CVWs? -

maybe the AF or Marines should take a cue from Dale Brown and mount said system on the Osprey.
