Hi everyone.

no some of us here are awaiting C models. there is quite abit of modern stuff here, but as the avionics dlls come in 60s or 70s flavors much is worked around to get them close to right. as to the pre-83, that is by design in stock game. with very simple ini edits tho you can fly anytime from the dawn of flight to 20 years into the future. glance thru the forums here, esp anything relating to patches and the Knowledge Base. it will help you in modding SF2. we will all answer your questions tho if it is something easily found we will provide the link. then laugh at you. -
it was there just tucked down. after getting ran over by a lambroghini wouldn't your tail not be held quite as high

does that mean more helo's that DON'T originate from AH team.. i mean DAT? even as AI helos would liven things up after 1960 in game. @ Wrench your Viper reminds me of the problem the Hogs, Phantoms and SLUFs had when they went green. dark green plane.. white missles and bombs! slightly defeats the purpose i believe that is why the D model maverick was delivered in green. -

sweet addition. not rivet counting(honestly) but remember the Tub had a million, what i can best describe as rivets, on the nose and canopy. this was the final cure to an extreme buffetting problem encountered. will look up the specific info in Century Jets later on today. -
Hey Daddyairplanes

sweet! funny you shold mention that. with storms moving thru NC i spent the evening placing decals on Sundowners USAF skin and getting the tail situated. my first focus is early operators from the get go til around 89 or 91. ignore the Seymour Johnson codes. i'm using the stock Eagle squadron decals for my initial template before changin it all to Viper units. #042 happened to be the one i picked as i got it situated (tho makes fer a hell offa what if) think i got it there just gotta color it (same as wing or dark insignia? hmmmm...) what do you think? next step is a lotta time on f-16.net damn matchin up a lil closer with yours i got some more movin round to do. wheres the friggin sigh smiley? -
F-4D_78 LORAN
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: F-4D_78 LORAN File Submitter: daddyairplanes File Submitted: 03 July 2011 File Category: F-4 This is a modification of the original F-4D LORAN by mppd and brought to Gen2 standard by Wrench. I merely added the parts that made it a LORAN bird to the stock F-4D_78 and added four skins and three units from my skin/decal pack. As with most of my main install this mod deals with the post Vietnam era to the end of the Cold War. After involvement in Southeast Asia wound down in 1973 the ARN-92 LORAN Phantoms were sent to 3 units for the precision strike role. These were: 23d TFS 52d TFW Spangdahlem AB West Germany 457th TFS AFRES Carswell AFB TX 704th TFS AFRES Bergstrom AFB TX This mod highlights these units in all tactical paint schemes used by the F-4. Thank you for downloading this mod, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Daddyairplanes 4 Jul 2011 Click here to download this file -

i hafta agree with Gepard. and i like keeping things as stock and simple as possible but i'm havin to balance money oout with use and enjoyment in. now i'd be happy to part with money if a TW USAF Grey Viper skin came out with GREY letters for squadrons 1979-1990. -

had something similar happen in an A-10 mission tho i shot down one of the migs dogging me home with half my tail gone. red crown was talkin to me tho wingman was dead. sure enough landed and declared KIA! good idea on the ejecting tho, can always get another bird but not another you... -

daddyairplanes replied to stingray77's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
in single mission mode it has to do with the decallevel in the skins decal ini. it needs to have 0,1,2 levels in the ini to show in the loadout screen as available without any gray out. as to its effect in the campaign i cannot say. and as TK said in the TW forums on this issue, if you have a VF111 skin(skin not decal) then you shouldnt be able to choose VF84 because Jolly Rogers wouldnt be flying a Sundowners marked aircraft! -
Got a question

daddyairplanes replied to Vambrace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
there is a 2x and 3x LAU-3 rockets in Gunnys weapons pack. there is also a Twin Matra155 launcher out there (dont remember if its in gunnys pack or not) if you wish to do your own i would suggest using these to figure out how it is done. as to maps, not my cup of tea you may want to ask Stary or Wrench. and if your trying to add carrier stations it is very easy to do..... so long as you have SF2V with the carriers in it. have that and all others will also being merged. -

oh i think the air force will keep them now for a long while , for the same reason they will keep the BUFFs and Eagles and other "legacy" airframes. They are PAID for already!!
