  1. cant remember if i asked before but has anyone tried converting mppd's F-4D Loran to SF2? i tried to convert ala KB instructions and the readmes instruction to rename the F-4D LOD's(in this case _67) as F4Loran LOD's but all i get is the frozen weapons in formation effect. i dont think it was that stealthy. just wondering if someone with better skill than me has tried this bird yet as it would be rather cool to pop it into 52d TFW or 457th TFS colors, esp a nice Hill 2 in texas.
  2. bit further off for me this is 2nd drill after 14 years active. mob'ing later this year so that'll take a bite outta time and points. between 45th TFW and 480th TFS does this mean a skin pack for the arnies? if so i can do a quickish search for Arnie operators vs plain 'E' operators circa 1988.
  3. The British Isles, of Britain, United Kingdom

do they all qualify for the dole?
  4. SPinners have you been using household products in a manner inconsistent with intended use and federal law?!?!?!?!?
  5. thanks Dave. nice treat getting back from reserve drill!
  6. thank you. unfortuneatly due to focus on my other two skins and prep for mobilizing, it will be ready on the 5th of octember:grin:
  7. love the Arnie's Dave. even though its a TMF product, has anyone thought of doing a decal pack so there is more than Spang and 334th TFS birds represented? gustav nice Phantoms.............. and INTAKE PATCHES!!!! sorry. been tryin to get them on mine as decals for the longest now.
  8. wrench might wanna trim the black area on the nose abit of your Hill 2 skin. ignore the codes, i havent messed with the decal ini since afghanistan in dec 09. waiting to finish Euro 1 and SEA wrap before i do so i can just turn that whole decal folder gray. the gun muzzle on mine should be a bit darker also but mor gunmetal than black
  9. well mine is based off of TK's. however i have changed the color to black for the applicable skins, then some gimp editing to create new tailcodes. gray will follow the black codes, and i am working on using the appropriate markings off of some skins(happy hooligans, blue and gold indiana from Fort Wayne) to cover ANG units eventually. sheesh, that readme will read like an actor accepting an Oscar. all the same i use the same rough logic that TK uses for stock, mine just look in a different folder. "The tailcode when the 45th was based in Egypt was AX and SW for Stonewood." ooh ooh wheres Dave? told ya so told ya so nah nah:rofl:
  10. Canada orders the F-35...

and F-35 is more mature? (said the guy using emoticons!)
  11. Caesar's got a brand new sword!

    cool sword Ceasar!
  12. it works it works! now for dancing with the ini's. first prize will be to line up the patterns so that striped or checkered fins will match up. still thank you Wrench and Sundowner
  13. yes and if you read the whole post i said the author mentioned SW is Shaw but he used it for Stonewood since it was his world in book. he also discussed that there was no RAF Stonewood and several other book-v-r/l discrepencies. if i remember the foreword correctly that is, my copy is still packed away from the last move. sheesh and you AF guys say we Soldiers cant read:lol:
  14. yes sir i have that copy of it as well the ole silver C or D model flyin by. gotta dig it out of hiding, could swear something was mentioned in the book about SW being Shaw's tailcode but he was usin it for Stonewood. also believe it was in gray cause in the next book Jack Locke is transitioning to MudHens and he gets a ride in 512 since he got the kills she wears. they talk about the immaculate grey paint job maintained by the guard crewchiefs. but my copy is still packed so im goin offa memory from 3-4 years ago when i last read it. at least Euro 1 tho, mid 80s no one flew SEA with white letters. (oh god i've become a rivet counter!!!!)
  15. Restrepo, anyone else have seen this

candyland (kandahar) in 09, bagram in 12 i've found out. with iraq "winding down", it the main show in town now. btw, as of 8 EST i cant see any video.
  16. F-4D Loran

that is freakin awesome mppd! unfrotuneatly probably a bit too high end for my system (compaq presario C700 laptop, still on vista) but looks freakin sweet. am workin on makin the towelbar a fake pilot item. will post with a Spangdahlem skin if i get it to work and directions to mppds skins for nam era birds. not even two weeks for me though, more like don't hold yer breath:dntknw:
  17. F-4D Loran

hell i'll give it a try i just suck turning the lod, skin and data.ini from gen1 to gen2. but i do have a rough understanding of fake pilot. hmmm something to do at drill this weekend...... btw wrench please check yer pm
  18. F-4D Loran

i appreciate it but i tried that already. the big thing is to get the ARN-92 towel bar on there. hell if we could get it turned into a weapon that shows i could place it and be good to hook. makin Gen2 weapons outta Gen1 items is a very poor point of performance for me though. thank you for your advice still though
  19. :clapping: :clapping: thank you sir i shall test after dinner. 3 sick kids and i'm makin chicken soup from scratch
  20. for Phantoms at rats ass i would think the tailcodes would be removed for security or it would be Stonewood's as that was a deployment. however the 45th was also stationed in Egypt until the libyan migs were shot down. as for the rwr bump, please hows that line go in the decal ini( he says drooling all over himself..)
  21. flying against the deathstar??? goodnight moon???
  22. excellent book. had it for many years. theres also force of eagles where the survivors go in to rescue the POW's from rats ass, with a strike eagle providing cover.
  23. @ wrench i have been workin on a personal project since afghanistan in 09 to do ALL post vietnam USAF units by using decals to represent the squadrons, tailcodes and fin stripe. by what i have researched while red yellow and blue or green are the common colors they are not the only ones used. a squadron in Hahn 50TFW had a white stripe, the AFRES squadron at Wright Patterson had orange and black chekerboard capped by a black stripe! as to the RHAW bump r/l some painted it some left the tip black, some did their stripe below the RHAW bump! there tended to be a lotta variation. @wrench and Piecemeal.... keep this in mind when working with Phantoms, a book on modeling the F-4 i have states that there was alot of inconsistencies in painting, marking and how the birds corroded and weathered. this helps the modeler(or modder) in covering any slight inaccuracies. back @ wrench in my long running project i have been trying to add squadron/wing patches to the intakes but it always blanks the fuselage out. however something that occurs to me is i have had the skin bmp's at 512x512 for a long time now. might it help to boost it to 1024? i even have national insignia painted on skin now reather than decal.
  24. Snowpocalypse 2011
