What If Screenshot Thread.......
daddyairplanes replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
ahh but in reference to my earlier post Mr Spinners..... what brand sponsors them? sadly with our congresses refusal to export Raptors AND the commander in chiefs insistence that 187 is perfectly enough AND the fact that lees means they cost more.... that might not be what if in 10 years time. -

however ObjectCat2 and lods will remain unreadable. thats a preventing sticky fingers issue, not an extractor issue. -

@ Ceasar the 102 doesnt have a gun, but the Six does! i forgot that while it is still designed for being a fast genie lobber, it actually handled very well esp in the later years. it was being considered by Gen Agan, head of ADC during Vietnam, to be deployed for escort duty up north! the "bubble" canopy, gunpod and ariel refuel capability are results of his desire to get into the game! -

with both the drawdown in American forces after the Gulf War and the reversal of fortunes for Pan American airlines, the DOD decided to subcontract out the operation of the E-3A fleet in 1992. Pan Am had just one stipulation on operated these aircraft.... -

Ceasar, thought the Voodoo was designed as a long range escort fighter it was a VERY unforgiving plane and liked to spin at too low an airspeed or high an AOA. and with its super high wing loading low airspeed was pretty high and high AOA was pretty low! its main two useful roles were as a one way nuclear bomber and recce bird, both down low and bbblazin fast. and i didn't typo blazin! Recce voodoos even went faster in vietnam than the Phantoms they were supposed to replace. but as a fight i believe its settled on role was actually as a Genie launcher. matter of fact on a side note most of the century series was built for one of two things.. speed or nuclear capability. missile were to make dogfighting obsolete. unfortuneatly Mikoyan didn't get the memo. and then we were needed to work on Saturday.... -
in ways mankind has learned from the two world wars. in those almost every available weapon hass been used and without any consideration for non combatants. the ultimate weapon has only been used twice, both in Aug 45. since then the thought of crossing the threshold and commiting suicide as a species has limited the vast scope of warfare. however mankind still has an innate aggressiveness that at national levels will lead to some form of conflict. in this day of instant media however the conduct of the warriors is held to closer scrutiny. as aggravating as that is for our soldiers in the current conflicts, it leads to restraint by the forces with greater destructive capacity. in its long convoluted way that is what can be learned from the Great War and WWII.

damn nice Stary. we like it at least... this one is for Spinners. playin with something else when i noticed this would work... -
honestly like the man said. i decided to finish my Phantom mod which of course you have to load to see if things are right. once i started doing that i would tak some checks and decide to fly the mission. more underlying than the will to fly in game is everything else in RL going ok?

Invisible Maverick 65K's?
daddyairplanes replied to GodsLt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
on several of the gunny pack mavericks they are called out but adding a number or leaving out a number or all small in one and all large in the data.inis. little tiny discrepencies that cause it to not read. i asked the question back in kandahar in 09 fixed it and honestly forgot about it until recently. but it was an issue with several of the later model mavericks in there. example ModelName=AGM65G2 but LOD FileName=AGM65G or AGM65g or AGM-65G you get the idea. -

two questions for ... monday?
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
ok so twofer should have waited til tommorow but my CRS won't let me wait that long. 1 are there any other skins for the E-3A? in particular looking for a run of the mill NATO skin. 2 can lights be made small and square? like the landing lights on the nose of shortnosed Phantoms? there is a landing light set in Gen one that does work save a lil positional adjusting(know how to do that) but it is big compared to the door and round. any help as always is appriciated. -

daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
ok so i need to make em small, and pop two on either side of the center line. and tweak and startup and curse the misplacement. rinse wash repeat! as to the Sentry i know its generally found in NF series, who does it belong to? a NATO-OTAN skin shouldn't be to hard i think. Luxembourg serials....hmmmmm -
F-4 Assymetric loadouts
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
has anyone really played around with this before? would be good esp for SF2V as the Phantom could be found carrying some really off the wall loads. did a bit of playin here main problem is that the AAMs wont show in loadout screen when its all broken up. they are there cause the loadout ini but no option to add remove or change. i am personally a fan of the easy way of learning tho not above much trail and error to figure stuff out. tia sample of what im talkin about -

F-4 Assymetric loadouts
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
oh well. this would've been more for vietnam era flying anyhow well i tend to fly F-4s in the 70's and 80's. they tended towards more symetrical loads then as it also put less drag and strain on the old girl. but would've been nice.... -
