Back to Playing Strike Fighters and it's Children
daddyairplanes replied to firehawkordy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
what is the dinosaur your speakin of? if you have vista or newer SF2 is much better. i believe it even works on XP tho dunno how well. hell im runnin a compaq presario c700 laptop so you know im not exactly state of the art here and i get way better operation than i did Gen1 on my XP machine or on here. not to mention the filepaths for the mods got simple enough this noob could get into it and not botch his installs. as for wives, i understand that. two and a half years into Gen2 being out and i'm about to finally have the full merged install. think thats when TK will release SF Tomcat! -

cool info on the skins. won't make them go away in the loadout screen but as it says it sets the default for what comes up first. any way to make a skin vanish outside its assigned years(the way a F-4D_78 wont show in '77 )? -
i have a f*(%ing dream! that one day the $%#%#@% snakes will get off my #@%#$%# plane!

why was it honorable? there are tales throughout the early years of military aviation of airmen in amazing survival situations. your chap could have been one of those! -
Updated Information on ALL current Projects?
daddyairplanes replied to ace888's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
dude that is seriously rude in tone and in asking. those that stopped posting stopped due to R/L issues or cause they got bugged by the constant questions. they will be out in due time. as the old saying goes in two weeks. (figure of speech not a real 14 day period.) if you were in touch with specific people about projects PM them otherwise wait patiently like the rest of us out here. -

just got done reading Firebreak by Richard Hermann and realized that the 45th didn't just fly Phantoms outta Rats Ass. they also converted to Mud Hens and were still stationed at RAF Stonewood. if your interested another unit featured by that author is the 303d FS (FW?) AFRES outta Whiteman flyin the A-10. slated for deactivation the wind up formin the basis for a new AVG in China. this is not a request, but i've been reading the books again and then saw the 45th's squadrons today while loadin up a mission. (got then loaded in my squadron list ) thought i might mention it. -

was flying F-16A over Germany last night. sweet shot on a Mig23 in burner with a Lima Sidewinder at .9 mi, then my wingman goes across the shot drws the 'winder off the mig and suddenly i'm getting checkfire calls. ugh! worst part was he had expended everything on the way in and i told him to RTB!!! -
expanding the terrains and stock terrains
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Wrench has posted that you can adjust the terrain size thru a flightengine ini edit. however has anyone taken a look at how this affects the stock terrians? will bases in england and norway be possible now in GermanyCE (after some heavy additions im sure)? or the isreali strike into tunisia? or is this development still too far in its infancy to be certain what to do with it? -

dude this is dedicated to your falcon toting wingman -
if you system is vista or higher it can do that. nother reason i gave up the ghost on WOE last year. being Gen 1 i can only say that his mods seem better suited to that genre. however my advise will be to refer you to the FE knowledge base aswell as the Gen1 KB.
-
Gen 1 or 2? the answer to that will tell you which knowledge base to look in. also for GP info i have loaded some birds from there into my Gen 2 install but they tend to be cantankerous. really for the...... attitude displayed by the site owner and difficulty of use in Gen 2 i only use mods which i deem essential to my installs such as the Tempest II and V for my berlin airlift era install. the what ifs and some of the others dont look very good and are much worth it imho. however i wish you luck in making it work for you!

you do know your countrymen are about to kick your arse, well maybe your ear still this Yank think it looks good. no way to make the straight wing meteor look like the swept wing Me 262 but that is a very passable second choice. -
